Shall we? You enter a small hut in the Scorpion Den. Not that you have a choice, it's either get whatever this dragon sells or forfeit your freedom. So yeah, anyone in the right mind would choose to face the hooded SandWing. The door opens and you enter a small room with a round wooden table in the centre. Sitting at the table, the stranger lifts their head up. You see a hint of a brown and white face and glowing amber eyes peeking out of that pale yellow hood. It's the hood that gets everyone, you realise. It sends out a strong clear message. 'I wouldn't do that if I were you.' You gulp, and take a seat opposite the tall SandWing. The silence that follows is deafening. "If I wasn't the bigger and stronger one here, I'd think this was an interrogation." You jump at the sudden and slightly high voice. The SandWing chuckles and puts back their hood. Her hood. "Now, I know what you're thinking. It's quite impressive that I've been able to hide my identity for this long." She grins wickedly at your stunned silence and gives you her talon. "Okapi. Nice to meet you."
Appearance[]
There's one thing to say about her appearance. She looks like an okapi. No surprise. It's in her name. She's an interesting colour too. Something you wouldn't usually see on a SandWing. Everyone is always surprised when they learn she's not a hybrid. 'How?' And to be honest, I'm not quite sure. Neither does Okapi or anyone for that matter.
She's mostly a milk chocolatey shade, with coordinated moon white patches on her face and talons. It kind of looks like she stepped in glue, and couldn't be bothered to wash it off. Her underbelly is a bit more toned down brown and her SandWing frill is pale pink, again not what you would normally expect for a SandWing, but hey, here we are.
She is quite tall for dragons her age. She is not solidly built at all, but who needs muscle when all you need on your side is a hood, glowing eyes and strange scale colours? She holds herself high and confidently, another method of intimidation if you ask me.
Okapi likes her clothes and jewellery. She wears a pale yellow hoodie, maybe for the sense of Sandwingness? Or maybe not, we may never know. She likes to wear this up a lot but usually will take the hood off at home and around trusted clients and dragons. Something not many dragons notice is that she has a necklace. It's a very sentimental necklace, and she has no plans to part with it. Reasons? Unknown.
Personality[]
Okapi is an extrovert through and through. There is no doubt in my mind about it. Being around others is just so thrilling for her, and she loves it, even if literally everyone is intimidated by the massive dragon who no one knows anything about.
She doesn't really see the point of having a close relationship. Strangers are the best form of relationships for her. She thinks of it this way: If someone is a stranger, then if they backstab you (literally), it's easier to make sure it never happens again (Just be careful around Okapi okay).
She seems cold and distant at first, but she's actually really cheeky and clever. She prefers using her brain to solve problems and is normally too lazy to use her weapons unless she wants to. She is a massive procrastinator and sometimes takes it so far that she will do anything to avoid doing whatever she should do. She loves to sleep but can't go to sleep until late at night. Her hobby is also carving wood sculptures and she sells them in the Scorpion Den.
History[]
No one knows who her parents are. No one knows where she came from. She hatched near the Scorpion Den, and her egg was right next to her invaluable necklace. They just know that when they picked the egg up which Okapi was in, a slight amber flash happened. No one knows what this means. But Okapi has figured it out. Her egg was animus enchanted somehow. Of course, this is just a theory but it is probably true.
Okapi was raised in the Scorpion Den by an old merchant who was selling a lot of weapons at the time, which is where she got her daggers and rapier from. Both the daggers and rapier have a sentimental feeling because of this. He taught her how to behave in the Scorpion Den and the small secrets and who to target when selling items and who to stay well away from.
When Okapi was just 3, she was forced to move away and start her own business. In her small hut, she found unfinished wood carvings, and she decided to try to finish them. It took her a few hours to get the hang of the delicate movements of her claws to get the right shape that she needed, but Okapi found this to be relaxing and extremely rewarding. So she started making them fulltime and selling them in the Scorpion Den.
But that didn't last too long. The constant fights and creepy clients weren't exactly pleasing, and she decided to teach herself to defend herself. That didn't end so well at first but after a few months of stabbing and accidentally ruining her home, she finally got the hang of it. And she had a talent for using her weapons.
So, here we are now. Okapi the SandWing carving small wooden sculptures for fun, and occasionally being a solider for the leader of the Scorpion Den. This is an interesting life of course, but it's been this way for years.
Her Animus Magic (kinda)[]
I needed to have this section so it's easier to explain her kinda animus magic
- Magic doesn't work through commands like animus magic usually works
- There's close to none control over it
- It's been used a total of 3 times, all of the instances connected to her getting very emotional and kinda wishing that something would happen in her head
- She's tried commanding this power, that didn't work
- She also doesn't know how exactly it works, but she can feel it inside, it's like a secondary voice of reason, and it's more calm but defensive

Trivia[]
- Her design is strongly based of her namesake, an okapi
- She is my most used RP character, maybe because I like her a lot or she just suits the types of edgy RPs that I like or both idk
