The Block Policy

Provided below are tables outlining the approach by which the moderation team will address infringements upon the wiki rules. Each table contains three sections: the offense, or the rule that has been violated; the quantity of warnings that will be granted until a block is warranted; and the duration of the resulting block.

Different offenses carry different warning thresholds, that is, different offenses do not entertain the same number of warnings before a block is issued. In the case that one receives warnings for different offenses, it is the warning threshold of the most recent offense that will be considered when deciding if a block is warranted.

For example, spamming is a three-warning offense, and art theft is a two-warning offense, so a user who...

  • ...has been warned once for art theft and then receives a warning for spamming will not be blocked.
  • ...has been warned once for spamming and then receives a warning for art theft will be blocked.

Block times are cumulative. A user who has received two warnings for spamming and one for art theft will be blocked for a total of 11 days. Block times for previous offenses remain: A user who was previously blocked for spamming three times (block duration of 9 days) and then receives two warnings about art theft (block duration of 10 days) after their original block time is up will receive a second block for a total of 19 days.

The maximum number of blocks before a permanent block is issued is the same as the number of warnings for the offense. For example, after being blocked twice for spamming your third block for spamming will be permanent

Note: In the tables below certain offenses have been marked with an asterisk (*). These offenses will result in no warnings and a permanent block instead if it is your only contribution to the wiki.

Carry over blocks

In extreme circumstances we may carry over blocks from our discord server and sister wiki. Carry over blocks will only be issued if the user is already active on this wiki or they suddenly become active on this wiki after being blocked from our discord server or sister wiki.
