Appearance

Webwood is a fairly average MudWing, for the most part. Her scales are an earthy brown color, her topscales are the color of oak tree bark, and her underbelly is the color of the inside of a tree. The tips of the scales along her body are a silver color. Curving gently, her horns and spines are the color of dusty ivory. Her wing membranes are a rich caramel color, and they has spiderweb-like silver patterns streaked on the undersides. Her fiery amber eyes matches the golden amulet strung around her neck by a peach-colored ribbon, which gives out a strange warmth.

Personality

Webwood is a very docile and caring dragon. She doesn't like violence, and prefers avoiding conflicts. When she does get into conflict however, she is very weak, due to her gentle nature.

She tries to avoid using her animus magic. She really does. However, she finds it hard to restrain herself, and sometimes uses it without thinking. She is getting better at controlling it, though, but not much.

History

Webwood's parents, who were both unsibs, didn't want their children to go through what they had to, and so they didn't just leave their eggs in the hatchery. They cared for them in their own home. That was, until the military found out. They took all their eggs and put them back in the hatchery where they "belonged." However, they missed one. That was Webwood's egg.

Webwood lived a happy life, raised by her parents in a small MudWing village. She may not have had a luxurious existence, but she had joy, and that was what mattered to her.

She didn't know how soon her life would be changing for the worse.

One day, she discovered a beat-up medallion partially buried in shallow mud. She took it home, excited to finally have something shiny of her own. She strung it around a scrappy ribbon she had also discovered that day, and excitedly showed it off to her amused parents.

The medallion never left her neck. She wore it night and day and showed it off to anyone she could. She would say that the gold made her feel like royalty. She would sometimes even have one-way conversations with the medallion. Of course, she was still quite young, and silly things like this was expected. What wasn't expected was the medallion suddenly being enchanted.

It was a normal night. Webwood was sitting in her home, stroking the pendant and chattering to it. She was saying to it, "You will keep me warm all the time, won't you? Maybe, you'll even allow me to breathe fire because of all that warmth! That would be neat!"

Suddenly, unexpectedly, the amulet flashed a bright orange light, and - just as she had said - it glowed a modest amber light, and allowed her to breathe fire no matter what temperature. She cried out, shocked by what had happened, and when her parents rushed in they were just as shocked.

When the MudWing royals got wind of this, they immediately locked her up in a secluded, dark dungeon. That was where she stayed for many, many years. While locked in there, she swung from the edge of insanity and back. She had nobody to talk to, nothing to keep her occupied, not even her amulet to keep her company. She would consider using her animus powers to escape that wretched place, but she never did. She wouldn't give the royals a reason to imprison her any longer than they were already, considering that they would have to eventually release her. Still, the prospect was tempting, and it was difficult for her to stop herself.

Eventually, the royals couldn't keep her locked up any longer, just as she had thought. They pardoned her of her "crimes" and let her return to her family. That is where she has resided since then, living happily with her family, in spite of all the misery the royals inflicted upon her.
