Appearance

Wildcat, originally known as Villkatt, is a fireless SkyWing. His scales are the pale orange of a washed-out sunset, like someone left orange paint out to dry for too long. Almost all of his body is this pale orange. There are a few exceptions, however, and one of these is his wing membranes.

While most of his scales are pale and washed-out, Wild's wing membranes are vibrant and bright. They're the color of a blazing fire, or perhaps the vibrant shade of orange round on changing leaves in autumn. His wings themselves are weak and underdeveloped, but his wing membranes are perhaps the most colorful part of his body. This same vibrant orange paints his thicker scales: his facial scales, the scales along his spine, and a few of the scales on his limbs. His eyes are a slightly warmer amber.

His underbelly is the color of wet sand. Dull and pale, his underbelly is somewhere between gray and brown. His horns, on the other hand, are a rich, creamy brown. Their color is like milk chocolate, smooth and deep. His spines are this same color, their deep color cutting a trail along his pale scales.

In terms of his build and size, Wildcat is nothing much. He's small for his age, and he's definitely shorter than average. His wings are oddly bent, with his shoulder muscles lacking any definition. His whole demeanor seems more suited to living among wildcats than dragons: he's slim, small for a dragon, and even his mostly pale coloration helps him blend in among the tawny pelts of wildcats. Among dragons, he has only two things that make him stand out: his amazing climbing skills due to developed arm muscles, and his incredibly sharp claws.

Growing up in a group of cougars, Villkatt never did much flying. However, he excelled at running and climbing. The muscles in his arms and legs are stronger than your average SkyWing's, and he used this to his advantage in his early years. Climbing and hunting also sharpened his claws, which are remarkably catlike in their sharpness. These were very useful to him when hunting with the cougars.

His first and only accessory is his mask, which he made from a deer skull when he was young. It doesn't cover his head anymore, but the top half of the skull, when secured with a vine or a rope, covers his upper skull. He has no real use for it anymore, but he keeps it and sometimes wears it as a sentimental thing.

Personality

Though Wildcat has lived among dragons for nearly three years, he's never really lost the wilder part of himself. He lives in the city of Possibility, but he doesn't have a true home anymore. He sleeps wherever he wants, still mostly eating off of what he can hunt, scavenge, or steal. He's wary of other dragons, and he doesn't trust most of them. He doesn't have many allies, only having a few friends to support him. Without his cougar group, he has no family that he knows of.

Part of his lack of allies is his temper. He gets easily angered, especially when dragons start getting too chatty. He's brisk and to the point, and he expects everyone else to be the same way. He ends up disliking a lot of dragons because of the way he views them: as vain, destructive creatures who cater to the rich and shun the poor or unfortunate.

He doesn't talk much, preferring to stay away from dragonkind when he can. His temper and his views get in the way of him making friendships, but despite this rough exterior, he can be pretty decent. He's curious about the world of dragons, and he loves knowledge. He's not very classy or educated, but he is loyal and trusting around those he feels he can rely on. Wildcat is, at his core, wild, but he's also loyal and strong.

History

Villkatt was hatched with a firescales twin. He was thrown off of a cliff, but luckily the wind blew him into the river. A cougar who was catching fish found him and brought him back to the pride. He was adopted by Voldsom, a respected female cougar.

He was raised as a wildcat, speaking Felistounge instead of Dragon. He learned how to hunt, how to fight, and how to survive. He went with his village when they raided nearby towns in the hard winters.

When he turned three, he tried to fly like he had seen other dragons. He jumped off of a cliff and flapped his wings. He didn't fly, but managed to glide to the ground. He began to hang around in the shadows of a close town, observing the dragons. He learned a few simple Dragon words: you, me, I, fly, dragon, yes, no.

His life changed when he turned four. Since he was getting bigger, at least twice the size of most of the cougars in the pride, the lead male chose to kick him out. Having nowhere else to go, he went to Possibility, the city he had been living near. He lived on the streets, slowly learning how to fit in to dragon society after four years of living like a wildcat.

At first, living among dragons after four years of being completely wild was a shock. He barely had a grasp on the language, and he had no way to get money or food. He lived off of the streets, wearing his mask to hide his face and scrounging whatever food he could find. Eventually, a pretty young SeaWing named Nymphaea saw him looking for food. She kindly offered to bring him inside and feed him, and he accepted. She and her family were all jewelry makers, and they considered themselves at least working-class. Regardless, they treated Villkatt kindly, and he had one of the best meals of his life that night.

Not long after that, he ran into a charming Ice/Night hybrid. The hybrid's name was Kova, and he didn't really have a home either. Besides Nymphaea, Kova was the first dragon Villkatt bonded with. They hung out a bit, and they became a bit like brothers. Kova taught Villkatt Dragon, and he was also the one to give Wildcat his Dragon name.

Prior to their meeting, Villkatt had still been calling himself by his Felistongue name, Villkatt. Kova made him see that he could benefit from a dragon name, but Villkatt didn't like any of the typical bird or gemstone names for his tribe. He ended up simply going with Wildcat, the Dragon translation of his first name. Since then, that's what he's gone by.

He and Kova have frequent meetings, and his Dragon and social skills have drastically improved over the two years he's spent in Possibility. He occasionally meets Nyphaea, and he has a few other acquaintances. He's actually found a nice little abandoned house on the edge of town where he can live. There's some broken windows, and the house is sparsely furnished, but it's become home to him. Overall, Villkatt had a pretty good life.
