Prologue[]
About four years ago...
As luck would have it, my parents were killed before I hatched.
I was a prince. Prince Fortune, to be exact.
My father disappeared. Never knew him.
My mother was killed in a royal challenge. Understandable.
My egg was left somewhere. I don't remember where.
I hatched alone. I crawled out of my egg, and walked around. I found a necklace with a tag attached to it. I thought that the tag meant something, and I knew. I just knew. What, I wasn't sure. I told something to let me understand it, and suddenly I learned how to read, write, and speak. The tag said that if I wore it, the royals would recognise me as a prince, which I was. I crawled up to a window and saw a few bushes.
A gust of wind blew me out the window into the bushes. They hurt me and caught me in their branches.
A lion walked up to me.
I thought, Oh no...
