The Summer Palace - Coral's Hatching-Day
Caspian jumped a little in surprise when a bright-colored SeaWing lept up next to her, thrusting her talon out to shake. Cass was a little dazed by the whole interaction - like when you stand up after sitting for a while and your vision blacks out for a second - and after a little bit she smiled meekly and limply shook the other dragon's claws.
"Im, uh, Cass." she said nervously, but still managing to sound tired. "Caspian actually, but everyone just calls me Cass." She clenched her wings against her flanks tightly, and leaned a little bit back from Longwave. She's /very/ enthusiastic...
She wasn't necessarily against talking to strangers, it just made her a little stressed was all. She was used to talking mostly to the youngest dragonets, and always found it very hard to relate to and be comfortable around dragons her age or older.
(we can keep this as the order! me, coco, then day)
(Okie)
"Thats a great name!" She said brightly. "Sorry, my brother was supposed to be here, it's his hatchingday to! I know right? Anyway, hi Cass! Do you want to be friends?" Wow, I'm doing great! 'I'm so good at this.
Maybe she was doing too good.
With the sun prickling her back uncomfortably, Chimaera settled down, looking back where she flew. Sighing, she walked down the old place of the Summer Palace, her talons tracing the broken, shattered building of her old playground.
"Wow, I haven't been here in forever," Chimaera said to herself, looking at charred building pieces. Running a claw on a broken stone, her talons tingled, as if they wanted to enchant the place back together, helping the entire pavillion back together. A wave of sadness passed over her as she sighed, looking back at the wreakage and continuing forward.
Never, I said I'd never do it again, I don't care how much progress it would do, my dad and sister are not going insane because of me. She was so lost in thought that she didn't realize that she was in view of two other SeaWings. Chimaera froze, her ears pricking backwards in submission.
"...U-Um, hello?" she said timidly, almost too quiet, but the silence hanging about made her voice bounce off the water.
Cass arched one brow at Longwave. "Uh...sure..." she said dryly, not enirely sure this dragon understood what a friendship was and how it was actually formed. Not that i'm really qualified to be giving lessons in friendship. The only dragon i talk to is less than 1 and can barely say his own name...
She noticed a small, dark-scaled dragon near another pillar. She looked like a deer in headlights, and Cass tensed up too, wondering what she was afraid of. After a second it dawned on her that she was what was scaring her, and she tried to loosen her shoulders and look a little less tense.
"Hi," she said to the other dragon, her voice coming out a lot louder than she had anticipated. She was internally hoping this dragon was a bit less...exciting than Longwave.
"Hm?" Longwave turned to see the other seawing, and called "hello!" then turned back to Cass. "Is she friend? Thats so cool! Hey, come join us! We don't bite....I think...." she looked thoughtfull for a moment. Then she shrugged.
Chimaera stared at the two other SeaWings, her heart throbbing in her chest, like it wanted to pop out. Quicky thinking a different thought so her powers wouldn't do what she was thinking right now, she inhaled and exhaled, wanted to walk towards the others, but her stupid, clumsy talons didn't want to budge, so she just stood there like a moron, her talons tingling eagerly for a reason unknown to her.
"U-Um..! H-Hello," she stammered, her mouth babbling up and down like a guppy, which made her photophores flash in an embarrassed blush. Chimaera flinched back with she heard Longwave say "We don't bite...I think..." and licked nervous lips with a forked tongue.
Okay Chimaera, calm down, calm down, it's just two dragons....two dragons too many, her mind argued with herself. Bracing herself, she took several steps forward gingerly, walking closer to them but not too close that they could see her shivering...maybe. Looking around nervously, Chimaera sized them up, looking at them but trying not to stare and be rude.
O-Okay, another dark colored SeaWing like me with hopefully nervous issues like me, and that...eye-burning colored one, she thought, curling her claws into the palms of her talons.
Caspian rolled her eyes at Longwave, pushing herself off of the pillar and offering a friendlier position to the other dragon. She tried to smile not-nervously, but was still awkward. She liked this dragon though. Maybe they reminded her of one of the dragonets she worked with...
In an attempt to welcome the other dragon, Caspian blinked slowly and started talking. "Uh, hi! I'm Cass, or Caspian, but probably just Cass." she said, mentally cursing herself for being so weird. "And this is Longwave," she gestured to the other dragon. "Are you looking forward to the festival tonight...?" She still didnt know this new dragon's name.
( i am so going to stalk this, oohhh i have a good OC for this)
Longwave waved happily. "Yea, what is your name?" She asked quietly, blinking at the new dragon. So many new friends today! Yay!! Longwave waited patiently for everything to happen.
Chimaera open and closed her mouth awkwardly at Caspian, then faceplanted back into consiousness, as she stammered to collect her words.
"O-Oh I'm Chimaera, i-it's kinda spelled weird I-I guess. And, um, it's nice to meet you, Caspian and...Longwave," she said, hesitating at Longwave's name, she did not want to talk to her at all.
Nope, too bouncy and cheerful, not anti-social or anything. But...she seems nice, I guess, she thought. Chimaera sighed, poking at a little bit of rock on the ground. "And...not really. I don't really like talking to dragons in general, and even if I was a little bit comfortable with talking, I don't...really have have any...friends to go celebrate with," she said, mumbling the last statement half-heartedly.
