Description[]
Sunshower is a diminutive withdrawn youthful RainWing-SandWing hybrid. Her sleepy black eyes are often half closed and unfocused, and the fan-like frills that frame her face droop. She can be uncannily still and moves with careful and precise motions. These calculated actions along with her generally off-putting disposition make many other dragons uncomfortable or awkward around her.
Appearance-wise, Sunshower is most similar to a RainWing, with a curled prehensile tail, a short thin snout, short spikes running down most of her back, and tiny pebble shaped scales covering the majority of her body. However, there are many SandWing traits that make her stand out, like her tough scaleless belly, the sail that runs down her neck—starting at the base of her head and ending abruptly by the middle of her neck, the sharp points of the scales armoring her spine, the edge of her wings and limbs, and the addition horn on each cheek on an otherwise totally RainWing head.
She's a sandy color between beige and light yellow, with a slightly darker colored belly and sail, and white horns, spikes, and claws. The razor-sharp armor-like scales lining her wings, shoulders, thighs and back are golden. Her wings and frills start a nearly white yellow that slowly darkens to a solid gold color similar to her armor-like scales.
Additionally, she wears a large green and blue striped fan-shaped headpiece that sits just above the space between her eyes and a pair of flat, gold, ring earrings.
Personality[]
Sunshower is generally a quiet dragon who minds her business. This is reflected in the way she holds herself, and generally most dragons get the message. However, on the few chances this isn't the case, she can prove to be surprisingly reactive, responding with back-handed compliments, passive-aggression, and snark. At this point most dragons stop bothering her, but if they continue-whether it be out of ignorance or anger, she will erupt in anger and take a more direct route to drive whatever is annoying her away which could be anything from yelling to straight up assault.
She also is quick is anger, though she's good at ignoring and suppressing it. Similarly, she's quite opinionated, but doesn't bother expressing herself unless she's quite passionate about a topic. There are a lot of little things that can annoy her, and her reluctance to actually address her anger has resulted in her usually being in a foul but quiet mood.
Overall, this has resulted in her being quite the isolated dragon, which worries her parents. She does feel a little guilt over this, knowing her behavior has probably cost her parents hours of sleep, but she is adamant that she's fine on her own without others.

History[]
Dragonethood[]
She was born to an unknown SandWing and RainWing, and left at an orphanage in a sizable backwater desert village where merchants occasionally stopped by to rest trade. This has made is a slightly above average sized village, though ultimately forgettable. Because of how noteworthy it was, or rather its lack thereof, many outclaws used it as a backroad of sorts whenever they needed a quick getaway or a place to hide. Sunshower quickly learned to pick up on street smarts in order to avoid a dark fate like being kidnapped and sold, however she also grew cynical and withdrawn. However, this all changed when a RainWing couple came to her village on a vacation and ended up adopting her after they worked together to set flame to the hideout of nearby gangsters. Initially she planned to only use them to escape from the Sand Kingdom, seeing them only as ignorant tourists that only took her on a whim out of guilt of abandoning a dragonet, but she grew attached as they demonstrated genuine affection and made plans to keep her permanently as their daughter.
Jade Mountain Academy[]
Sunshower had gained a bit of a reputation as a demon-dragonet, being withdrawn and violent when prompted with any attempt at socializing. She knew this, and was content to leave it, however when the chance to go to Jade Mountain Academy appeared, carefully suppressed feelings loneliness, envy and mistrust were brought to the surface. Other naive and innocent dragonets in the rainforests frolicked around and played, making friends with one another, all things she wanted, needed, but her own fears and traumas from her time in the desert always overcame her when she looked at them. She couldn't look at them with anger bubbling to the surface, "why was she born into hell? Why didn't they have to suffer too? It wasn't fair", then she'd feel shame that she'd wish something so horrible on anyone else. Sunshower knew this chance would be all she needed. Away from the rainforest where everyone knew her, she could reinvent herself, become strong, popular, appreciated. Seeing this, she told her fathers who enthusiastically supported her.
Relationship[]
Canon:[]
Tiger - Positive[]
The first friend she made at the Academy. He's an oblivious idiot, the type of dragon that she would've raked across the face back in the rainforest. However, when she took the time to explain what annoyed her, and to actually talk with Tiger, she found herself charmed. Other dragons always seemed flat, like pictures with no depth, but Tiger changed that, he's so genuine, and kind, and ridiculous. There's so much more to a dragon that could be found if only one took the time to look beneath to surface.
Jambu & Pineapple - Positive[]
Her two fathers. Initially she held them in low regards, viewing them a naive and stupid traveler who would drop her off away from the Sand Kingdom whenever they lost interest in her, but when they chose to stay, to care, she was bothered. She resisted their concern and affections, but as years went by and nothing changed, she found herself reluctantly returning their love. They always look out for her best interests despite how prickly of a dragonet she is and for that they'll always have her appreciation.
