"You're no fun."

Appearance

Spiritbreaker is an average sized NightWing who's solid black from their snout to tail, this includes everything, meaning even their horns, their mouth, and their claws are black. Everything about him is like a shadow, with the only exception being the star-like scales that dapple the underside of his wings, imitating the night sky, and his bright vivid turquoise eyes. But beyond this, he looks like an average NightWing, and although he’s broad chested and extremely muscled. His visage is difficult to make out as his scales absorb a majority of the light around him, with the only defining features besides his eyes seem to be his facial expressions, which twist into feral animalistic shows of excitement and violence when in combat, and his lack of silver teardrop-like scales NightWings tend to have running down the length of their bodies.

"Here lies madness."

Personality

Spiritbreaker is the walking definition of glib and doesn’t have any particular rules that govern his life because he lives by his whims. When he’s hungry, he eats, when he’s bored, he kills, and the only way to curb this is to be stronger than him both mentally and physically because he's not only strong, but clever. This tends to give people the belief that he lives by a rule of “survival of the fittest”, but he doesn’t, and so when he acts whimsical in ways that can be misinterpreted as kind or merciful it’s often surprising to his allies (he has no friends). Once dragons start to realize the truth of the mercurial nature of Spiritbreaker’s mind, it makes him much more intimidating, and the experience is often described by those who survive encounters with the monster in IceWing fashion as, 'dodging Darkstalker’s knife'.

"Are you still here?"

History

Spiritbreaker was born as heir to a NightWing family with origins as the handpicked assassins and spies for the NightWing royal family, which after the RainWing transition, served more peacefully as informants for the NightWing-Rainwing royalty since Glory’s rule. And although they’re more ‘peaceful’, they remained highly skilled and dangerous. As such, to fit their role in the past, they have bred for generations to hide in the shadows and become masters of stealth, and Spiritbreaker would’ve been perfect if not for his glowing green eyes. He would subsequently be dismissed from the position as heir and grow up envious and bitter at his displacement due to a single uncontrollable deviation. In revenge he would work himself to the bone to become the best stealth master, learning all the trade secrets of his family in order to kill them using the very knowledge they coveted. His crime would be discovered by Princess Night Shade of the RainWings and NightWings, and he would be smuggled out to the True NightWing Nation by the spy Veilmaker who discovered his talents after his violent outburst. He would go on to learn other more straightforward and brutal martial arts, refusing to ever learn or teach the stealth arts as a final way to spurn his family.

Soon he would find karma striking back, when he ends up bound to serve the True NightWing Nation; while he still gets to enjoy the thrill of battle, it would be at the whims of another, which truly angers him. He now resides as a General of the Warring League which deals with all martial matters of the True NightWing Nation, and while it is a powerful position, it lays right under the claws of the King and Queen of the True NightWings, Reverent and Fullmoon.

"You lied."

Relationships

Nightshade

Thinking about Nightshade makes Spiritbreaker feel mildly irritated and shameful, as he remembers her as an upstart the managed to one-up him, causing him to take his chances with the informant Veilmaker leading to his current troubles with the True NightWing Nation, but he isn’t bitter as he takes the fault on himself for failing to an assassin apprentice which is quite embarrassing.

Reverent

The King of the True NightWing Nation, he has some sort of supernatural ability that controls him after he signed a contract, this pisses Spiritbreaker off greatly. If he could torture Reverent, he would, but sadly for him, he can’t.

Veilmaker

The informant that guided Spiritbreaker to Reverent in the first place, he hasn’t seen them since he arrived, but he hears their name thrown around a lot. They seem to be held in high regard by everyone as some sort of hero, but they hold no official position in the government, this makes gathering info for revenge on them difficult. This has put this slimy hard to catch dragon is on Spiritbreaker’s Sh*tlist.

Deathstalker

The SandWing-NightWing hybrid born for the Overhaul plan. Miraculously, somehow, Deathstalker has managed to worm his way into Spiritbreaker’s good graces. Spiritbreaker regards them with fondness and find's their sparkiness and cunning endearing. He was willing to teach them stealth if they betrayed the True NightWings for Spiritbreaker. Deathstalker has since completed this feat and now runs free, Spiritbreaker thinks on their shared memories fondly.

Deathblow

Due to Spiritbreaker’s adamant refusal to teach stealth, Deathblow, and incredibly loyal True NightWing has stepped up into an unofficial position on Reverent’s orders to be the Stealth Master of the Warring League which would typically be one of the many jobs that the Warmaster would have. She’s incredibly loyal and Spiritbreaker enjoys pushing her buttons and flaunting his power and skills over her. He finds her loyalty to Reverent both amusing and annoying at times.

Killingshot

The apprentice loyal only to Deathblow, and the one to nearly discover his plans of betrayal with Deathstalker. He regards him as a nuisance and attempted to kill him before but had since been disciplined. Her finds him extremely irritating but occasionally amusing, he awaits the day he can wring the apprentice's scrawny neck.

"I always tell the truth; you can trust me."
