Tide

Soultide is a SeaWing/SandWing/NightWing tribrid. He is a student at Jade Mountain, in addition to working for an archaeologist. He is the true to life dragonsona of Robyn. He was born and raised in Silver Lake, before moving to Scorchbourne City at the age of seven (human years).
Do not base characters off of his design or personality in general. He is my dragonsona, and though he may not have existed for long, he represents me in many if not all ways. He means a great deal to me. I will reiterate, taking from his design, coding, characteristics or other aspects is forbidden, and theft will have consequences. Appearance[]
Physical[]
Statured in a rather short, slouched way, Tide stands smaller than most dragons of his age and heritage. With a constant slump only straightened when reminded, Tide seems much smaller than he actually is, though not by much. Tide is slim, and rather scrawny, but does not appear underfed. His limbs are stronger than they appear, and his tail is light and graceful, ending in a thin tip, despite his genetics. His ears can move upwards and down, as well as be pointed forward like a feline’s.
Graceful, curved horns sprout from the top of his head, accompanied by two spikes located between his ear, four in total (twinned on each side). A spike protrudes from the tip of his nose and longer than average fangs that peak from beneath his concealing jaws. Blunt and curved claws adorn each talon, with webbing slung between them. His claws are often picked at and chewed on from nervous habits.
Their webbing is located lower between their talons, but is just enough to be useful when swimming. Trailing down his spine from the front of his head is a messy, stiff fur-like sail that curls over his left eye. It trails down his back, ending between his wings. The sail becomes four large fins between his wings. Then after the fins, the sail returns, now completing at near the tail tip. Extra sail-like appendages sprout from his shoulders, the back of his forelimbs, and from his wrists. As well as on his hind limbs and hind talons. A stiffer more SeaWing like sail extends from his chest, ending just behind his forelegs. Tide has bat-like wings that end just near his hind limbs and two large fins behind his wings, similarly to a Night Fury’s. He has two fish-tail like fins at the end of his tail, that help him when flying.
Bioluminescent scales encircle each eye, as well as lace his underbelly, chest, limbs, and tail. Crescent shaped bioluminescent scales glint on the undersides of his wings. Twin teardrop scales drip from the corner of each optic, and NightWing scales litter his face. Gills run down the side of his neck, accompanied by SeaWing scales. Oval shaped scales run down his back, ending between his wings and flanking his sail.
Coloration[]
Tide’s scales are dappled and splotched, like someone poured galactic paint over his head in his egg. Their scales dominantly consist of purple/blue shades, along with white. Their right eye is a light, sapphire blue, while their left is pale cyan. His horns are two toned, the top being black and the lower being dark purple. The underside of his wings have a wave-like pattern coated over with golden streaks.
His undersides are a soft lilac, and blotched with pale cornflower-blue glowing markings. The pads protecting the bottom of his talons are a light blue, the same shade as his tongue and blood. His curved claws and fangs are a glittering ivory, and are often well cleaned (though the claws are very worn down from anxious picking and chewing). On numerous occasions, Tide’s talons are decorated with pale brown bandages, due to his tendency to pick at his scales and cause himself to bleed. The insides of his ears are a soft pink, and his nose spikes/face-horns are alabaster. Soultide’s extra fin-like appendages are light purple with even lighter markings around the edges, the webbing between his talons is the same shade as well. There is no specific pattern his painted markings, but it is usually kept consistent.

Tattoos[]

Tide has a Toothless tattoo on his inner right forearm, lower on his wrist. Its tail is nearly concealed by his glove, and it’s fairly small. It is only an outline, save for the right tail fin which is inked in red, per the canon Toothless design. This stems from his creator’s love for the franchise and fondness for the dragon.
On his left inner forearm, Tide possesses a wolf in black ink. The wolf has a singular paw extended to the “ground” of the tattoo, and the hind limbs/tail are in the air. The front right paw is coiled closer to the body, and the wolf is extended like it was coming down to touch the ground. Within the wolf, there are black shaded sections that create a maze-like structure of linking lines/paths. Above this tattoo, there is one of twin snakes coiled together. It is the rune of Loki. This stems from Ander’s Norwegian heritage, similarly to how Sandpiper’s last name has Norwegian roots.
Inventory/Outfits[]
School Bag[]
Soultide carries a school bag with a black strap that goes across the neck and leaves the bag hanging at his side. The bag is printed with a purple/green galaxy pattern and has one main zipper with a couple smaller zippers. The bag is decorated with various pins including a non-binary pin (made with a safety pin and colored beads), a treble clef pin, a pin that says ‘you matter’, and a cat pin. The bag has some hearts/stars sketched onto it with sharpie and has a smudge of red paint.
Inside Tide’s school bag, he has a personal reading book, a mini sketchbook, a couple notebooks, a small bag of pens/pencils, whatever schoolbooks are required by his classes, earbuds, a few clarinet reeds, minty gum, folders for homework, scattered sheets of music, and a small water bottle decorated with stickers.
Personal Bag[]
Tide always has at least one sketchbook and set of pencils/quills with him. His personal bag is a red shoulder bag similarly to his school one, but it has a logo of a fox. This bag doesn’t contain any pins, but it does have various drawings torn out inside.
Tide usually keeps his travel necessities in the bag, like spare earrings, earbuds/headphones, chargers, hair ties/scrunchies, a toothbrush (+toothpaste), a small bag of candy, minty/fruity gum, a sharpie, and some colored pencils.

Tide always has a pencil on him. No matter what. Always.
He has a purple and black electric guitar and a black, wooden Yamaha clarinet with dirty-looking silver Keys. The keys are not actually dirty is the polish or something but his clarinet is not as shiny as others.
Normal[]
Tide typically adopts a grungier fashion sense, and favors ripped clothing (namely jeans). When drawn in anthro, Tide has black ripped jeans (with black leggings under if it’s cold), a baggy sweater (no hood), and a shirt beneath the sweater. He also likes vests and often wears sweater vests over collared shirts alongside his ripped jeans. Occasionally he’ll wear flannels in typically red/purple colors.
Tide almost always has clawless gloves on his front talons, the only exception being when he swims. The gloves in a multitude of colors, but he favors dark blue and black, occasionally wearing brighter colors or gloves in a purple-y gray shade.
Tide also sometimes has a black hood that comes over his head and drapes down around his neck. He also occasionally wears leather extending up his limbs, accompanied by steel gauntlets. He also wears black leather straps around his sides.
Formal[]
Tide despises dresses, so his mum bought him a suit. The suit is a bit too big, and is a little loose on the wrists. The suit is black and usually has a white shirt underneath and occasionally a black bow tie. He also wears a black vest accompanied by black pants, with a white button down shirt.

Abilities/Stats[]
Tribal[]
SeaWing Abilities: Tide has most SeaWing abilities. He can breathe underwater and see in the dark. He also possesses bioluminescent markings along his body, and a few extras on the undersides of his wings. Tide, however, cannot speak Aquatic, nor does he have enhanced tail strength. He also has webbed talons, but the webbing is lower between his claws.
SandWing Abilities: Soultide has minor heat resistance, allowing him to cover up in layers and remain comfortable on warmer days. Instinctively, he occasionally arches his tail above his head when threatened, which would be more intimidating if he had a barb. His scales radiate a bit of heat, barely enough to be noticeable.
NightWing Abilities: Tide has a slight amount of infectious bacteria in his mouth. If anything it doesn’t do much other than make his bite-wounds take a bit longer to heal. He does have a sky-related ability, where he was hatched under a green flash. This resulted in him gaining two teardrop scales next to each eye, and being able to see ghosts. His ability to see ghosts is very weak and often on and off. It works to the extent where if he closes his eyes, he can see ghostly outlines from where the ghosts are. It’s like little lights under his eyelids. He can choose whether or not to use this ability, and typically doesn’t.
Other[]
Soultide has numerous abilities he’s gained from years of practice. Tide is skilled in art (namely animals), writing, and music. He’s best at the clarinet and piano, and is still learning how to play the guitar.
Tide also possesses well-earned art skills, acquired from extensive practice and learning from others. He’s good at drawing dragons, but he’s only just beginning to learn how to properly draw scavengers.
Weaknesses[]
Cold Temperatures: Soultide has little to no cold resistance, and despises temperatures below 40°. He is always buried in 3-4 blankets on cold nights.
Friends/Family: Soultide lacks the ability to tell his friends he dislikes something, and he often sits through things he doesn’t like if it makes his friends happy. He is also extremely loyal, and would do anything for them.
Strength: Soultide isn’t the strongest, and he rarely does anything to change that. Occasionally he’ll lift weights, but he always says Marching Band is enough to keep him in shape.

Relationship Details[]
Akashi
Akashi is Tide’s pet ferret, and is the second pet he’s gotten. Akashi (more commonly referred to as “Ash” by Tide or “Ashy” by Heliconia/Lumi) has a dark black fleece and a tail dappled with snowy white spots. He has a white underbelly and striking violet eyes, with a mask of dark brown, similar to a raccoon. Tide enjoys sneaking Ash into classes within his shoulder pouch. Ash’s favorite foods include eggs and chicken. Ash is around 4 years old.
Alchemist
Alchemist is Soultide’s father. Soultide loves his father, but the two sometimes argue like there’s no tomorrow. Soultide and his father have similar music tastes, and Alchemist raised him to appreciate good music.
Alchemist is a NightWing with dominantly black scales, with a few darker brown underscales. He has a dark gray underbelly, and intelligent light brown eyes. Alchemist was born to his parents CharredScales (father), and Cateyes (mother). The two escaped the Volcanic Island and fled to an uncharted isle in the Bay Of A Thousand Scales, near the Sea Kingdom. There, they had Alchemist and Alchemist’s five siblings. Alchemist was born the oldest, with his brother Bendmaker after him. Then came his sister, Lostkeeper, and other three brothers, Paleeyes, Pewtertalons, and Dangerstopper.
Amaranth
Amaranth is a cheerful and friendly RainWing. She typically has pastel (blue, green, yellow, or coral) colored scales. Naturally she has bright blue eyes. Amaranth always has an assortment of unique earrings (ex goldfish, toast, PB&J).
Amaranth and Soultide met at Jade Mountain. Soultide was shy and reserved and Amaranth was friendly and invited him in. Amaranth had been best friends with Jessamine since a few months after the two hatched. Amaranth lives just down the street from Soultide’s dad.
Amaramth is a very caring and loyal person. She’s extroverted and extremely friendly, drawing others in. She’s always worried about her friends and their well-being’s, and she often checks into make sur ethey’re doing okay. She also tries to include everybody in the conversation, and becomes stressed if one of her friends isn’t okay.
Amber
Amber and Soultide met only recently, but Amber helped him a lot in his first few days at Jade Mountain.
Amber is a strong Mud/Sand with an overgrown sail they often cut down to be shorter. Amber, like Soultide, is musically inclined, and Soultide looks up to the older dragon for his own musical achievements. Amber is in their last year at Jade Mountain, and Soultide will miss them greatly.
Azalea
Azalea is a good friend of Tide’s and ex of Jessamine. Azalea is energetic but sleep deprived very often. The two can often be seen skipping down the Jade Mountain halls holding talons.
Coastline
Coastline is Soultide’s mother.
Coastline is a Sand/Sea hybrid with a curly sail. Her sail is a dark brown, and the splatters creep down her back and face, forming freckles across her nose. She has light brown eyes and Lemon colored scales with a white underbelly. She has cyan light-up markings on her legs and often wears accessories of gold.
Coastline enjoys spending time with her dragonets, and is often displeased that they don’t like socializing. Coastline shares an interest is novels, like Soultide does, but the two don’t have many shared interests. Coastline has very good skills when socializing with others, and Soultide does not.
Garland-Lilly
Garland-Lilly is a Night/Rain hybrid who is very education oriented.
She met Soultide in their shared Math class. Soultide is naturally skilled at math, and helped Garland-Lilly and viceversa. The two are close friends and love to talk about music together or walk to class side by side.
Garland-Lilly typically had green and yellow scales with hints of blue.
Helios
Helios is Tide’s dog. He got a job and saved up to buy Helios has a pup (Helios is more commonly called “Leo” by Tide and “Lio” by Jessamine). Leo is a rather wimpy pup (he’s less than a year), and his bark is definitely bigger than his bite (aka no bite at all). Leo is on the darker side of golden retriever coloration, appearing more bronze with the deepest chocolate colored eyes. He still has shorter fur on his main body, but his tail has the floof. Leo wears a dark purple collar painted with mountains and a lake. Tide adopted Leo and 6 weeks old, and has had him since.
Tide’s Nicknames For Helios (says all of these in a baby voice): Leo, Bud, Buddy, Bub, Bubba, Sweetheart, Babe, Boo, Leo-Beo, Buddy Boy, Puppers
Heliconia
Heliconia and Tide met when they were younger. They drifted away when Tide moved houses, but were brought back together when Lumi and Heliconia began dating. The two get along well and enjoy each other’s company. They do art together as well!
Jessamine
Jessamine is an energetic golden RainWing. She has been one of Tide’s closest friends for ages, and she was the first he ever came out too. The two are very close friends and live just down the street from each other in Scorchbourne.
Lumi
Lumi was the first dragon Tide ever befriended in Scorchbourne, and has stuck by his side ever since. Lumi lives in a small house near Tide’s and enjoys painting and sketching, often helping Soultide with his own works. Lumi is currently the partner of Heliconia and they are like Lumity.
Manitoba
Literal besties. Manitoba and Tide walk to classs together, and enjoy practicing music side by side. They hang out after concerts or rehearsals and sometimes sit together at lunch. Manitoba is a trumpet player who helps Tide calm down when he’s nervous about big performances or marching shows. They met because of marching band, but found out they don’t live to far from each other. They are often told they should be dating, or asked if they’re dating to which they reply with firm no’s. They are purely platonic.
Sandpiper
Sandpiper and Soultide bonded at Jade Mountain, and are often used in roleplays together by Robyn. They hold positions as Robyn’s main dragonsonas. The two get along due to having similar interests and abilities.
Sovereign
Sovereign is a grumpy tribrid who occasionally oversees Soultide as a “babysitter” though he calls himself a caretaker. He works at Jade Mountain, and was asked to look out for Tide, being he was a new student. Sovereign won’t admit but Soultide is one of his favorite students.
Sparrow
Sparrow is Tide’s third pet and a red fox. Sparrow is full grown and about three years old. Sparrow is a very loyal pet, and was given to Soultide from a neighbor who had baby foxes born in her yard. Sparrow was created in homage to Robyn’s favorite pet to acquire in Minecraft. In almost any Minecraft game, Robyn can be seen with a fox named Sparrow tethered to them. The name “Sparrow” came from Robyn receiving a fox stuffed animal in real life and wanting to name him something bird themed, because of Disney’s Robin Hood, where Robin was a fox.
River
River is a black tabby cat with dark gray stripes. He has a white underbelly/chest, and a pink nose, with striking green eyes. He has black markings on his paws and a dark gray zigzag on the side of his face. He was named for the farm he was adopted from (called River’s Run). River was Tide’s first pet, and is currently 8 years old, having turned that age on April 14th. He also serves as a Warrior Cat OC named “Riverface” after the nickname Tide’s mother gave him.

Tupelo
Tupelo is a chatty and social RainWing. He is a very talented artist and Tide is jealous of his skills. The two are friends, and have known each other for six years.
Vanita
Vanita and Tide do not get along in any way shape and form. The two dislike each other and rarely get along, even though they’re siblings. Tide severely dislikes Vanita’s attitude, and is often very annoyed with her. Overall, they have a negative relationship and are constantly insulting each other.
Neptune
They haven’t been friends long but they see eye to eye on things. They’re getting closer, and they enjoy chatting about music and such!
Pluto
Pluto and Soultide met while stargazing, and had a nice chat about Astronomy and space. They got along and are friends. They still meet up occasionally to talk about the stars or look at constellations.
Grimmjow
Grimmjow and Soultide get along because of their similar values. Soultide also finds Grimmjow’s time traveling very interesting.
Aconite
The two met at the Scorpion Den and they enjoy talking about music together.
Mokotra
Soultide and Mokotra are more neutral friends than anything else. They get along but Tide is intimidated by Mokotra.
Bastet
Bastet scares Soultide, and he is often nice to her out of fear. He’d rather be on her hood side than anything else. Bastet is owned by DragonspireStudios

The two met while Soultide was traveling to Jade Mountain, and they enjoy playing chess together/chatting through letters.

History[]
Hatched and raised in a small town called Silver Lake, Soultide came into existence. From when he was young, Tide expressed artistic behaviors. He always enjoyed art and pushed himself to get better. He attended a very small school in Silver Lake known as Mudpool. When he was 3 (hy) his sister, Vanita, hatched. He attended continued to attend Mudpool for two years, until he and his family moved to Scorchbourne when he was 7 (hy).
After moving to Scorchbourne, Soultide attended a school called Lion’s Den for the remainder of his elementary school years. In his last year at this school, he met his lifelong friends, most of which he is still friends with to this day. For middle school, he attended a school called Lakewood. At Lakewood, he joined the school’s band, beginning his music career. Lakewood was a school he attended for two years, before finally moving into Jade Mountain. In his first year at Jade Mountain, Tide joined the school’s marching band. He met more lifelong friends there, and has full intent to continue with the extracurricular.
