Character I’m finally getting around to making
For awhile, ScaletShark was a strange-looking SeaWing, and rather than being typical shades of blue or green, they are many light and dark shades of red. However, they also had one huge secret. They are an animus, and are terrified of it.
A character who has colors typically associated with “dangerous” and “edgy.” They are determined to prove they are nice, despite bullying and harassment for being smaller and off-colored. However, when they discovered that they were an animus, worried that using it too much would turn them into a controlling villain like Darkstalker and make her fit the cliche, they bottled up her powers. But now they are facing more and more situations where they could’ve used their powers to make things better, and is doing their best to try and not collapse under the pressure life gives them, and not become the cliche they had been told to been.

Appearance: They come in many different shades of red, practically making them a living gradient. Their fins and most of their main scales are a deep freshly-spilled blood red, and it then fades to a regular freshly-spilled blood red for the rest of their main scales and underscales. Theor wings and the large fin on the back of their tail also sports the same colors and gradient, but the tail fin also goes one shade lighter, which is a peachy-red sort of color. This same color can also be found on the backs of their arms and legs.
Their bioluminescent stripes have a similar color to their underscales, but it is slightly lighter and more faded.
Personality: Having a history of being picked on, ScarletShark has developed an immunity to rude or snide comments about their strange appearance. They usually tend to ignore these comments, although they may respond to these comments by thanking them. They have gotten good at deflecting the harshness, but there may be times where a comment may get to them. Even still, they do their best to make sure not to show others that it has gotten to them, as to not feed the bullies further.
Due to the extreme power and insanity that can come when using animus magic as well as the consequence of dragons viewing the animus as bad, ScarletShark has developed a fear towards their and other's magic. They can get very anxious when magic is mentioned, or in the presence of an unfamiliar animus or an animus-enchanted object. They had only used their power twice, and only when they were a dragonet. The first time was on accident which lead to their early discovery of their power, and a second time so they could cheat the animus test and not get found out. Since then, ScarletShark has avoided thinking about or using their power, even if it had good intentions behind it.
