ribbon dancer! performer! comedian of wasp hive! she has it all, a well-known celebrity of the hives in whom always enjoys a good show now and then. quite skillful in her ways and while greatly adored by the audience, she's considered quite strange in colorations, not a single black scale in sight. lives in an alternate universe where leafwings, hivewings and silkwings live in peace, none are being used as servants or anything, everyone is treated equally. hatched to two comedians that were known throughout jewel hive but none of the others.
sardonyx was determined to be known throughout as someone who could always make others laugh and having said that, she became interested in comedy at a young age. that is, along with ribbon dancing and other types of public performing, whilst not attention-seeking, the hivewing is always looking for a way to fit in with the group.
she's an extrovert, one with many friends and unlike most, she has no stagefright and is accepted by some even if she's strange. rather funky in personality traits, always organized but also fun-loving and cheerful, she has a certain love and positivity for most things, she can always seem to find something likeable out of the most horrid of things. has a certain spunk at heart and can take some tasks seriously. runs a night show called "sardonyx tonight." enjoys bright, pastel colors, loves music as well, with a warm spot for jazz and techno pop.

APPEARANCE
Her main scales consist mostly of reddish pink and midnight black-blue. The midnight blue is often above the pink, filling up most of Sardonyx's body along with the top of her head, wings, shoulders, and forehead horn.
The pink covers her underbelly, the rest of her head and a redder shade is seen on her legs. Coral orange and white go down her back in the form of the long spines. These colors are seen repeating with the white going before the orange.
A burnt shade of this aforementioned coral orange is shown underneath the HiveWing's eyes. Apricot horns protrude from the back of her head. Dark purples are seen on the scales going down the front of her wings and legs as well as on her hindlegs.
Bright orange-pink is seen on ever digit of her front paws, but is not present on her hind paws. Additionally, two scales near her wrists and ankles are light pink (top) and bright red-orange (bottom) Pale yellow wings sprout from the shoulders and are studded with two golden stars.
Sardonyx is tall and pudgy with a short neck and snout. Two round, magenta eyes sparkle like gemstones, occasionally hidden behind a dark purple visor. A golden star plug earring is seen in her right ear.
PERSONALITY
She has a tendency to laugh in a very pompous manner at her own jokes and has a jolly laugh that is hard to get out of the head. Her tendency to "steal someone else's show" reveals a more attention-seeking and self-centered side to her persona.
She can come off as a bit egotistical and selfish at times, often giving herself quick compliments when describing herself or when complimented by others. On occasions when she's angry with someone, she can even come off as sarcastic and sharp-tongued.
This dragon can't really be considered a pessimist, never outright hating anyone unless it's truly deserved. Unlike her rival, Lute, Sardonyx was never academically gifted, making up for that with people skills and being able to throw really good parties.
Regrets and worries do dwell within the HiveWing's mind, usually when recalling her past work as a member of the Celestials. And she's not incapable of taking things seriously when it is required. If things get too upsetting for her comfort, she might crack a joke to lighten the mood.
HISTORY
- born in mid-to-low class, parents worked for the newspaper. sardonyx sometimes helped them out and always looked at the interesting things that went on in the hives through such.
- was always drawn to the parts that talked about different celebrities. wanted to become famous like them someday.
- popular kid at school, known for hosting the best afterschool parties and being quite the comedian, but wasn't very popular among teachers. she never really did too well in any classes.
- tried to not let the popularity go to her head, but sometimes that would slip. often scowered the nearest bookstore or library of comedy and joke books with actually good jokes in them. retold the funniest to peers and friends.

always considered her a "friendly rival." i don't think lute saw her that way though. lute hated her, but sardonyx always saw that as "friendly competition."
