Overview[]
RoseWings are a breed of nature-loving, vegetarian dragons. Their tribal name is derived from their physical features and their particular adoration of flowers. They are formidable adversaries, nevertheless, being extremely vicious dragons.
With the majority of tribes, RoseWings maintains a neutral position. As a result, by forging no alliances with any of the SandWing princesses, they have also abstained from taking part in the SandWing Succession War. They are allies with SeaWings and have a grudge towards SkyWings.
A Vine is in charge of the RoseWings. A new Vine is chosen via a series of contests and, ultimately, a combat ordeal after the current Vine dies. The RoseWings have a form of currency and a tax system in addition to being politically advanced. The RoseWings are a species that inhabits groups of Gardens, each with its own Thorn. The Ring of Flora, the governing authority ruling the RoseWings, is made up of the Vine and the six Thorns of the six Gardens now in existence.

Physiology[]
Appearance[]
The RoseWings have a big, white, fluffy mane that covers their shoulders and chest, and they have a great tuft of white fur at the end of their tail. This white fur also covers them from head to toe by running down their spines and tail tips. They have longer, white leopard-like patterns all over their bodies. Additionally, they have white underbellies. They also have a thin layer of fur over their scales.
There is a distinct colour palette for each RoseWing. Depending on the sort of rose-like scale structure the dragon possesses, this colour palette varies. This is because these rose-like scale structures seem like roses. Their colouring may differ. They are, nonetheless, always rose-colored, whether pink, red, or yellow. For instance, a RoseWing's body will be painted in various colors and tints of yellow if its scales resemble a yellow rose. As previously mentioned, RoseWings feature white fur, underbellies, and leopard-like patterns. However, the hair, markings, and underbelly of a RoseWing, on the other hand, are all black if white is their primary body color.
While hybrids are conceivable, every RoseWing has a scale pattern like a rose and the longer leopard spots, which helps it to stand out from other tribes, particularly RainWings.
Animi are only conceivable if the dragon's egg is genetically altered or charmed by another Animus dragon.
Abilities[]
Strong Hollow Scales[]
Scales of RoseWings are robust and hollow. Due to their small weight and lack of mobility restrictions, these scales allow them to withstand significant damage in combat and yet maintain flexibility. These scales are highly resistant and can come off and grow back if they are injured.
Strong Flexible Tails[]
Long, robust, flexible tails of RoseWings enable easy flexibility in movement. They are more flexible because to their tails, which they may also use as weapons. Even the most powerful dragons may become unbalanced with a whack from a RoseWing's tail.
Long Sharp Claws[]
RoseWings may utilize their long, sharp claws in combat. Additionally, they possess the ability to retract these claws and keep them sheathed while not in use. Since RoseWings sharpens these claws frequently, they are constantly cutting edge.
Venomous Fangs[]
The fangs of a RoseWing are poisonous. Despite the fact that they lack the ability to spew poison from their teeth as RainWings do, they are still able to bite a victim and inject it into their body. Internal organs can suffer dangerous issues from the venom in a matter of minutes.
Tudors[]
RoseWings with a mixed combination of achromasia (also known as albinism) and piebaldism are known as Tudors. Only the tips of these RoseWings' bodies, such as their wingtips, tailtips, and snouts, are colored; the rest of their bodies are entirely white. This trait of colour is also inherited by their rose-like scale structures. The scales are pigmented at the tips of the petals but are mostly white within. Due to their condition, these dragons' leopard-like patterns are not visible across their entire body.
These dragons were originally thought to be disabled due to their unnatural appearance, but after undergoing Lucia's rule, they are now treated equally. They have received significant positions and been involved in important societal choices. Tudor RoseWings make up Vine Rosemary herself.
Rosespeak[]
RoseWings with the capacity to "speak" to roses are known as Rosespeaks. This talent is comparable to Leafspeak. A RoseWing with Rosespeak, however, can only communicate with other roses. Only dragons with pure RoseWing bloodlines can inherit this ability. This is due to the fact that in hybrids, the genes inherited from the parent who is not a RoseWing completely cancel out the rosespeak gene if it is present.
Hibernation[]
All RoseWings - hybrids included - hibernate throughout the winter, however it is unknown why this is their habit. The DNA of an animal that hibernates was presumably employed during the genetic mutational process that produced RoseWings, which is thought to be the origin of this habit and need to hibernate. The Winter Night's Feast, which is a last feast all RoseWings participate in before hibernating, is a holiday. Everywhere in the RoseWing kingdom, there is a joyous festival, as family and friends gather to feast together one final time before they go asleep. Due to the energy-efficient nature of their hibernation, this feast provides them with enough energy to survive until spring, when they reawaken.
Territory[]
Basic Geography[]
A huge region of land covered in meadows and woodlands is home to the RoseWings. There is a small lake and a river called the Diamond Spray that run through the area, which is covered in water. The area is delineated by natural limits, with the east boundary touching the sea and alpine meadows lining three of the four sides. The RoseWings get their water mostly from the Diamond Spray River.
Gardens[]
RoseWings reside in cities called Gardens that resemble little villages. Numerous floral plants cover these gardens, delightfully enhancing both them and the dragons' nests there. Every Garden has a unique Thorn. There are now six Gardens created, and each is densely occupied. Red, White, Yellow, Pink, Blue, and Lavender are among them. Chloris, the palace where the royals reside, is located to the north of these lands. The Mary Lake is located in the middle of the Chloris and Gardens. Beautiful stone homes with wooden doors and windows, tiled roofs, and gardens are everywhere. These homes are similar to the ones you might see in Italian villages. The RoseWings enlarged and renovated these homes after the scavengers who originally resided there left them. The hue that the Garden is named after is painted on the homes of the Thorns.
Mary Lake[]
As previously noted, the Mary Lake is located in the middle of the Chloris and the six Gardens. Fish are also raised and farmed in the Mary Lake. The entire RoseWing tribe is fed by the many fish that can be found here. One of the two main food and nutrition sources for the RoseWings is fish.
Diamond Spray River[]
Within RoseWing territory, the Diamond Spray River flows. Water for RoseWings is mostly obtained from the Diamond Spray Lake. Drinking and other uses, including irrigation, call on the usage of fresh water from the river. On one of the alpine meadow's edges, there are several farms, and the Diamond Spray River supplies water to them, enabling RoseWings to grow an abundance of fruits — another important food source — all year long.
Chloris[]
The kingdom of RoseWing is centered on Chloris. An enormous stone cathedral that previously belonged to scavengers is found at Chloris. The RoseWings expanded and restored the cathedral to build the RoseWing palace. The present Vine and the present royal family reside in Chloris. Markets are also held in Chloris. Chloris is where the majority of trade takes place.
Sweet Alpines[]
The RoseWing kingdom is surrounded on its north, west, and south sides by an alpine meadow range called the Sweet Alpines. The RoseWing kingdom and the rest of Pyrrhia are divided by these meadows in a geographically sound manner. The RoseWing kingdom is seen on the inner side of the Sweet Alpines, which is where fields of (mainly) fruits are grown. Additionally, these meadows are constantly guarded to ensure that no incursions take place.
Coast Rhode[]
The RoseWing kingdom's eastern border is marked by Coast Rhode, which connects it to the Bay of a Thousand Scales. All RoseWings frequently travel to Coast Rhode whenever they need a vacation because it is a well-known destination for them. Since SeaWings and RoseWings frequently do business here, Coast Rhode may also be viewed as a commerce hub.
Stardrop Valley[]
The RoseWing kingdom's southern region, Stardrop Valley, is located immediately across from Chloris, which is located to the north. The valley is flanked at both sides by the Pink Garden, White Garden and Blue Garden at the north and the southern flank of the Sweet Alpines. It is said that Mary herself blessed this location, where the Temple Stellae is located. According to RoseWings, Stardrop Valley is a profoundly spiritual environment.
Landmarks[]
Statue of Dragoness Mary: The Statue of Dragoness Mary is located in the center of Chloris. This statue is constructed of solid gold, and the most fragrant and lovely flowers are placed on its base every day, along with numerous butterflies and other tiny creatures. RoseWings places a great deal of importance on this statue and treats it with the highest respect.
Brookerose Bridge[]
The Brookerose Bridge is incredibly robust, extends above Lake Mary in all its wonderful extravagance, and is made of an alloy that is identified as categorized by the Ring of Flora and the architects who designed this amazing bridge. This bridge is encircled by roses of all hues and vines, much like everywhere else. Chloris and the six Gardens are connected by the Brookerose Bridge.
Temple Stellae[]
Stardrop Valley contains Temple Stellae. Mary is revered in this location. Priests also live in this area. When there is a wedding, a birthday, a burial, or any other occasion, all RoseWings invited or required at the occasion meet at Temple Stellae.
Apollo Hall[]
At Chloris, there is a theater called Apollo Hall. This relatively substantial and well-known monument lives up to its splendor and serves as a venue for numerous plays, concerts, operas, and other types of entertainment. Many RoseWing musicians view being allowed to play at the Apollo Hall as the greatest honor and achievement of their careers because it is quite difficult to do so.
Culture[]
Religion[]
The divinity known as Mary is revered by RoseWings, who are deeply devout. According to their beliefs, Mary is present everywhere and the Vine carries out her commands.
The RoseWings have a history behind their belief in Mary. The palace in Chloris had once been a cathedral and in it was a statue of Mary as a scavenger. When they had been captive, they had heard the scavengers mention 'Mary' several times. When the RoseWings escaped, they put the pieces together and figured out Mary was the name of the female scavenger made into a statue in the cathedral. The RoseWings believed that a beautiful goddess like Mary who gave life to the world should not have been given the form of a mere and cruel scavenger. They believed that she would unlock her full potential as a goddess only while assuming the form of a dragon - specifically, a RoseWing. Especially since she had guided and helped the RoseWings to freedom.
The Statue of Dragoness Mary in gold was created as a result. The RoseWings started to adore Mary because they thought she was the goddess of life and their protector. They revere her and offer daily prayers to her. They think that if they devote themselves to and adore Mary, she would cherish them back tenfold.

Traditions[]
Benedictio Mariae[]
A roughly translation of Benedictio Mariae is "Blessing From Mary." When a RoseWing couple's eggs hatch, this ritualistic practice is performed. The priests who represent Mary bestow blessings upon the dragonets and shower pure rose water on them in the Temple Stellae. The parents or guardians also give the dragonets names.
Concordia[]
The word Concordia approximately translates as "Unity" and/or "Harmony". Due to this ceremonial custom, two dragons are united at the Temple Stellae and declared to be legally wed. They put a vine bracelet around one other's right talons to indicate that they are mated after they exchange vows and are united by the priest. As evidence that two dragons may coexist peacefully for the benefit of the realm, Concordia is immensely praised.
Litterae Victoriae[]
The phrase "Literature of Success" is translated to "Litterae Victoriae." A dragon experiences this joyous event twice during their lifetime. when they complete both their apprenticeship and public schooling. The dragon being honored is decked out in sage and lavender, and they spend the day instructing or aiding other dragons with little tasks and their education.
Dies Maturitatis[]
The phrase "Day of Maturity" or "Dies Maturitatis" approximately translates. This joyous event occurs when a dragon reaches the age of twelve in dragon years. The morning goes on as the dragon is honored, spending their time at the Temple Stellae praying to Mary and helping to beautify the Statue of Goddess Mary at Chloris. A big ball is held for them as darkness draws near, and all of their friends, relatives, and kin are invited.
Holidays[]
Rosemary Independence Day[]
When Vine Rosemary led the RoseWings out of the SkyWings' control, it was celebrated as Rosemary Independence Day. Vine Rosemary is revered as a hero, while those who perished fighting for independence are honored as martyrs. On Rosemary Independence Day, a tribute and gift are made to those who perished as martyrs.
Mary's Fest[]
Three days are spent at Mary's Fest. The first day commemorates the creation of Dragoness Mary, her release from her former scavenger form, and the release of RoseWings from the scavengers' rule. The second day commemorates her feats on Doomsday, and the third and final day expresses their appreciation to Mary for everything she has given them.
Feast of Vernal[]
The start of spring is signaled by the Feast of Vernal. As part of bringing in bountiful harvests for the whole year, RoseWings feast with their family to celebrate the arrival of spring. This feast, which is analogous to "breaking a fast," is also the first one they enjoy after emerging from their slumber of hibernation.
Winter Night's Feast[]
Hibernation officially begins with the Winter's Night Feast. Before hibernating throughout the winter, RoseWings assemble with their friends and family for one more feast. In order for them to fully complete their hibernation and have enough energy left over, the Winter's Night Feast also serves as a food supply.
Diet & Farming[]
Diet of RoseWings consists of two categories of food. Fish and fruit. As a result, a significant part of RoseWings work as farmers, spending their years raising fruit and fish in the Mary Lake or the Sweet Alpines.
Seafood is only ever consumed cooked and prepared by RoseWings; they never eat it uncooked unless it is sushi. On the other side, they like to eat fruits raw, however they would cook them if it is necessary for the delicacy they are creating.
Farmers make up a sizable portion of RoseWings. Due to their love of the natural world and excellent crop management, they are able to produce harvests of exceptional quality that feed the entire tribe. They raise fruit crops as well, but because they enjoy seafood immensely they also raise fish. Fish farmers reside closer to the inner edges of their individual Gardens, nearer to Lake Mary, where fish are raised and reared.
Fashion[]
All RoseWings like dressing up. However, their horn bands and scarves rank first, followed by all other types of jewelry. The best material at their disposal, mulberry silk, is used to make these scarves. Their horn bands are covered in gems and fashioned of gold. Their horn rings are embellished with jewels, each of which has a unique hue and symbolic significance. The same holds true with scarves. These scarves have emblems on them that identify things like ranks and occupations.

Economy[]
Currency[]
Three different varieties of rose gold coins make up RoseWings' money. 'Aura' is the name of these coins. These coins have a square hole in the middle and are shaped like a square, circle, or triangle, with values of ten, five, and one and are named Lythia, Leros and Laxin accordingly.
Name | Monetary Value | Description |
---|---|---|
Lythia | 10 | rose-gold; shaped like a square with a square hole in the center |
Leros | 5 | rose-gold; shaped like a circle with a square hole in the center |
Laxin | 1 | rose-gold; shaped like a triangle with a square hole in the center |
Tax System[]
RoseWings are constantly trying to make the kingdom better, and in order to achieve that, they require Aura. Because of this, RoseWings have a tax system whereby every RoseWing citizen is obligated to donate one-eighth of their annual income to their individual Thorns, who in turn will give it to the Vine.
Trade[]
A large number of RoseWings work as farmers and sculptors who create a range of goods. With SeaWings, these products are exchanged for things RoseWings want or need. Products made by SeaWings and RoseWings are then offered for sale to RoseWings and guests in the kingdom.
History[]
Origin/Scorching[]
Scavengers produced the genetically altered species known as RoseWings. It has been revealed that RainWing DNA was utilized in the development of RoseWings, despite the fact that the species employed in the process are marked as classified. The initial RoseWings pushed the scavengers out of the laboratory by escaping. They then expanded to become the RoseWing tribe as we know it today. The RoseWings were created during the Scorching era, hence they were excluded from the main battle.
Scavenger Outburst[]
The scavengers fled to RoseWing territory during the Scorching to avoid the other tribes (which the RoseWings were unaware of and did not participate in). It didn't take long for these scavengers to learn that the RoseWings had demolished the scavenger village they had once created there. The RoseWing tribe was assaulted by the infuriated scavengers, who had declared war on them.
The Scavenger Outburst was the first time RoseWings had ever been assaulted or engaged in combat. They were nonviolent beings with no experience in battle. They were able to assess their fighting skills and improvise thanks to these strikes. The RoseWings eventually reached their full potential after realizing their fighting capability.
Doomsday[]
RoseWings had a large population, which at one point became too much to handle. This load rose even more once the RoseWings' ability to engage in battle was enabled because a great deal of dragons were engaged in fighting every day. It was difficult to control these fights, and by the time they were over, numerous dragons had been hurt or killed.
In order to pray for peace and salvation from these violent deeds, a sizable number of RoseWings, led by the Vine, dispersed to the Statue of Dragoness Mary. They had faith that Mary would intervene since they knew she did not support this brutality.
And then it took place. A shapeless dark spirit ascended with the first ray of light in the morning. All those who had sinned by carrying out these violent crimes were taken by this shapeless dark spirit, which became powerful and pure as a result of the RoseWings' commitment to their cause. They were reduced to nothing more than ashes, and those ashes were carried away by an invisible wind.
All that was left were the RoseWings who had submitted at Mary's feet. They understood that Mary, who had come to help them, was the formless dark spirit. They made a vow not to engage in combat unless
Lucia's War[]
A Vine named Lucia formerly ruled the RoseWings. Her rule, nevertheless, didn't endure very long. As a timid, frail, and inexperienced dragoness, Lucia impulsively engaged a pack of five dragons from unidentified tribes in combat, which resulted in her early death.
No one could claim the throne since Lucia lacked dragonets. There was a lot of fighting among the dragons of the RoseWing tribe as a result of the lack of a credible claim to the throne. Five 'Stems' were formed from the tribe's division. The leaders of the dragons in each stem thought they had the best claim to the throne and should succeed the Vine. They thought Mary had picked their leader to be the new Vine, as well.
In different colonies, the five Stems survived. Initially, the Stems' leaders were able to control the hostility that existed between their group and the rival RoseWings. This, however, was not a long-term fix. Small conflicts amongst Stems started as tensions escalated out of hand. The war, which is now known in RoseWing history as Lucia's War, began as a series of conflicts amongst the Stems. For several years, the five Stems didn't stop fighting. A century or more of fighting had place during this time.
Three elderly RoseWings came together at last to brainstorm a solution. They did so quickly. The three elders set up a number of trials in which the Stem leaders would compete against one another. One leader would be eliminated from every trial. Three trials were scheduled in this way. Only two Stem leaders were left, Royal and Andrea, after the three trials were successfully finished and three leaders had been removed. The three elders determined that a battle trial would be the format for the grand jury. The two Stem leaders would battle until one of them either passed away or walked beyond the lines and conceded defeat.
Sky's Capture[]
Three generations after Andrea's effective rule, Pearl arrived. Though cordial and friendly, Pearl lacked experience and was naive. Pearl so readily fell into the trap set by the SkyWings when they approached her to form an alliance. As though she were a puppet, the SkyWings controlled Pearl's every action as they played her, and eventually they took over. The SkyWing queen who ruled later seized power after imprisoning Pearl.
When they first arrived, the SkyWings made a commitment to be friendly, but they weren't. The RoseWings were used as slaves to carry out their will. The formerly stunning and joyful RoseWing kingdom has turned gloomy. The RoseWings had to labor day and night and the flowers were no longer in bloom. They prayed to Mary for deliverance from their prison-like existence.
Rosemary Independence[]
Twenty years had passed since the SkyWings had seized power after capturing the RoseWings. The RoseWings had caved in to their fate, given up, and surrendered. Some people continued to hold onto this dream, but the majority did not.
Rosemary, a fourteen-year-old RoseWing dragoness, was born six years after the tribe had been taken over by the SkyWings. She was driven, intelligent, and vivacious, and her mind worked like no one else's. She thought that if the RoseWings desired it, they could become independent. She thought they could easily beat the SkyWings with their skills.
She instilled optimism among the tribe and persuaded the older dragons of the viability of her proposal to gain freedom. She began preparing for a battle with the SkyWings while keeping this plan for liberation a secret from them. They would easily be able to repel them because they were in their native region. She sought advice from the more experienced and knowledgeable dragons while training the healthier dragons that could protect their tribe. She prepped them and made them ready as a result, acting with wisdom and bravery.
A series of assaults on the SkyWings. As a result of their shock at the rapid onslaught, they sought to defend themselves and maintain control. For the fifteen years Rosemary had to think of a way out, it took fifteen days of violence. With their poison and powerful bodies, they defeated the SkyWings in the very end and released the RoseWings.
The RoseWings were overjoyed to be free after twenty-one years of imprisonment thanks to Rosemary. They considered Rosemary to be their savior and thought Mary had assisted her in guiding the tribe to freedom. For her bravery and wit, they named her Vine, and they annually commemorate Rosemary Independence Day to honor the day she won them independence.
SandWing Succession[]
After the Ring of Flora concluded that taking a side in the conflict would cause their tribe to be disrupted and would interfere with their neutral connections with the other tribes (with the exception of SkyWings and SeaWings), the RoseWings made the choice to abstain from the SandWing Succession War. The RoseWings, under the leadership of Vine Rosemary, resisted attempts to buy them off and persuade them to create an alliance. This turned out to be the perfect choice because the RoseWings are still able to keep their neutral relationship with most of the tribes.
Government & Society[]
A Vine is in charge of RoseWings. They consider the Vine to be Mary's choice, and they trust that she will guide the RoseWings in a way that is honorable, just, and fair to all. They think that the RoseWings will be led by a Vine with enhanced strength, skill, and power, and that this will enable them prevail in both the elimination trials and the decisive combat trial.
Justice and morality are values that RoseWings uphold. Law and order are highly essential in RoseWing civilization. The RoseWing society's laws and norms are broken by dragons, who are seen as fallen dragons without Mary's favor. These dragons are associated with the underclass, and the RoseWings consider them to be on par with scavengers and other lowlife.
Six distinct communities known as Gardens are home to the RoseWings people. Thorns rule over these Gardens. Similar to how the Vine is somewhat responsible for its Garden, the Thorns are partially responsible. The Ring of Flora is made up of the Vine, which also has six Thorns, and these three elements combined. The RoseWing tribe's executive branch is known as the Ring of Flora.
The Vine[]
RoseWings are under the Vine's rule. According to legend, Mary had a thing for the vine, a dragoness. The RoseWings hold that the Vine need not be a member of the royal family and may not even be one by birth; they may instead be a regular RoseWing. As long as the dragon is a RoseWing, it is permitted to contest for the throne. The trials permit participation by RoseWing hybrids as well. According to legend, the present Vine receives orders from Mary, and then carries them out.
When a Vine dies, a series of trials are used to choose the next Vine. From the list of RoseWing dragonesses that the government has on file, seven are chosen. Additionally chosen to participate as a contender for the throne is the previous Vine's eldest daughter (if there is any). The remaining six Thorns, who make up the Ring of Flora, then devise six trials for the eight chosen dragonesses to participate in. Before the trials start, a dragoness may forfeit and the Ring of Flora will choose another dragoness as a replacement. However, once the trials have started, dragonesses are not permitted to forfeit. Each trial ends with one dragoness being eliminated. Only two dragonesses are left at the conclusion of the sixth trial. The two dragonesses who are still alive will compete in a battle trial for the right to the RoseWing throne. The two RoseWing dragonesses must continue to battle until one of them passes away or concedes defeat. A new RoseWing Vine is subsequently named after the victorious dragoness.
The chosen candidate to become the new Vine is required to sit by the statue of Mary, observe a night of quiet, and pray to Mary the night before the chosen dragoness is crowned Vine. She is watched by soldiers dispatched by the Thorns the whole night to see if she keeps her promise to keep quiet. The coronation takes place the next day with the installation of the dragoness as the new Vine on the RoseWing throne, assuming that the night has gone well.
In RoseWing culture, it is acceptable to challenge the present Vine in an effort to overthrow her. The challenged Vine and the RoseWing who issued the challenge must next engage in a trial combat. The RoseWings think that Mary will favor the Vine and punish the challenger if she triumphs. If the challenger triumphs, though, the RoseWings will think that the Vine has broken the law and that Mary is punishing her by replacing her with a new Vine whom she prefers.
Royalty[]
There are two divisions of royalty: The Princes and Princesses and the Lords and Ladies.
Princes & Princesses[]
These dragons are produced by the current RoseWing Vine as her offspring. Up to six dragonets must be carried by a Vine. At an early age, they must go through training. Princesses receive instruction in how to conduct themselves like a true queen. Princes undergo training where they learn about areas like the military and politics. When they are older, the six oldest offspring of the queen are allocated in turn to each Garden and act as the Thorn's personal advisors. The previous Vine's dragonets remain to serve as the Thorns' personal advisers until a new Vine's dragonet is mature enough to fill that role. All princes and princesses attend school and are individually trained in a particular profession, albeit, because a RoseWing may lay up to nine eggs.
Lords & Ladies'[]
The present Vine is related to lords and ladies. They are granted prestigious positions in society. Some are given occupations that require them to head organizations like schools and the like, while others are sent to the military or police to lead them. Every significant establishment, regardless of whether it is a private enterprise, must have a Lord or Lady to support it. However, it is noteworthy that the lords and ladies change and are replaced when the sovereign changes. As a result, each lord and lady has a particular profession in which they are experts.
The Thorns[]
The Thorns, who rule over each Garden, are dragons or dragonesses. They are somewhat responsible for their Gardens, albeit not fully. The dragons that reside in the Gardens where the Thorns rule address them as "Lady" or "Lord". The thorns, who are elected by the voters of the gardens. The Vine and the other Thorns judged a candidate's suitability to become a Thorn after the Thorn was chosen by vote. By the Vine at the Temple Stellae, the dragon is given the title of Thorn if it is approved. The residents of the Garden must select a different candidate, though, if their first choice is rejected. Thorn applicants must be older than fifteen dragon years in order to be considered. The Thorns need to be prepared to take charge of their Garden and must be willing to cooperate with the Vine.
Creation of Thorns[]
There are only six positions for Thorns available. These positions will be open when I am ready to let a dragon fill in this spot. When a position is open, it will be noted here with instructions on how to apply for a chance. Historical Thorns are allowed to create as long as they comply with the rules given under Guidelines.
Ring of Flora[]
The RoseWing kingdom is governed by the Ring of Flora, which serves as both its legislative and constitutional authority. The Vine and the six Thorns of the six Gardens make up the Ring of Flora. Voting by the majority of the members is required for the majority of decisions taken by the Vine and/or one or more Thorns. All Thorns must report on their Gardens to the Vine during these sessions, which must be held on a regular basis.
Higher Officials[]
The Vine and Thorns employ the Higher Officials. Their responsibility is to maintain records and gather information on the populace, locals, and the kingdom. These records contain a variety of information, such as geographic data, information on the local flora and fauna, diplomatic connections with neighboring tribes, and many other kinds of data.
Priests[]
Since the Vine is thought to have the strongest spiritual ties to Mary, she chooses the priests. Priests are required to live a life of devotion to Mary. They are obliged to rise with the sun and fall asleep late at night, averaging 4-5 hours of sleep every day. All priests must be capable of enduring this rigorous regimen since the life of a priest is exceedingly severe. It is possible for any dragon, male or female, to become a priest.
Military & Police[]
A significant component of RoseWing society, the military and police have a lot of clout. The police's duties include upholding the law and monitoring many aspects of public safety, including street sanitization. To maintain and defend the borders of the RoseWing kingdom, dragons are needed in the military. Once they reach the age of twenty dragon years, all male RoseWings are obligated to serve one dragon year in the military. It takes strength and discipline to work in either of these divisions; the jobs are not for the weak.
Law[]
The RoseWing kingdom's rules were formed with great rigor and should not be disregarded. Laws are broken incredibly infrequently as a result of this awareness and the conviction that crimes should not be done. Even though they are free to move about the RoseWing kingdom as they want, any dragons who disobey the rules are imprisoned inside the country and aren't permitted to leave. The Ring of Flora is in charge of bringing the case against them, and they are given a fair trial and punishment. Unless the crime committed is very serious or there are any additional circumstances that affect the warrant, The Ring of Flora generally avoids imposing death penalties.
Societal Etiquette and Expectations[]
For the sake of future generations of RoseWings and dragonkind, RoseWings feel it is their responsibility to lead by example. The normative behavior they must exhibit and the standards they must meet or surpass are taught to their dragonets at a very young age. RoseWings are supposed to behave elegantly, but they don't need to be overly refined; they only need to exude a regal air. They are also expected to take good care of and nourish the natural world around them, just as the environment nurtures them. RoseWings must adhere to some cultural norms, although they are not overly strict, and everyone is given the opportunity for independence and equality.
Matings[]
RoseWings treat mating seriously and have a strong belief that connections endure forever. They often don't start a family until they are thirteen dragon years or older, and it might take them a long time to find the ideal partner. With Mary's approval, RoseWings have a ceremony that takes place in the Temple Stellae to formally remember the mating. The RoseWing government's database is also formally updated to reflect this mating by the Higher Officials. Matings are exceedingly serious affairs, and divorce is quite uncommon. The majority of RoseWing couples maintain a very committed and loving relationship all the way until death.
Parenthood[]
Parenting is something that RoseWings takes extremely seriously. Being a parent is a highly happy experience for them, and the birth of the clutch is formally celebrated at the Temple Stellae (as matings are), where blessings are offered by the priests on behalf of Mary and where the newborn dragonets are also given names. Higher Officials also keep a record of the birth of the clutch. To ensure that they have adequate time to spend with each of their dragonets, RoseWings usually limit themselves to just 1-3 clutches that yield 1-3 eggs. Additionally, they often wait to have another clutch of eggs until the dragonets from their last clutch have grown up and moved on. The dragonets remain with their parents until they are twelve, at which point they have completed both their apprenticeship and their formal education.
Arts & Entertainment[]
The many artistic mediums are much adored by RoseWings. Additionally to buying artwork, they like going to plays, operas, and concerts. They encourage those who are devoted to the arts and pursue careers in them with a great deal of enthusiasm. Recognizing young dragonets who have skill in any of the arts and inspiring them to further realize their potential is considered as a very vital aspect of education.
Education[]
Schools[]
Up to the age of eight dragon years, all RoseWing dragonets are expected to attend public school, which is provided at no cost to them. Dragonets gain a ton of information about a wide range of topics throughout these years. It is required of RoseWing dragonets to participate and move about throughout class. They are never reprimanded for failing to do well in topics or activities and receive attentive attention, lots of instruction, and both. Dragonets are encouraged by RoseWing instructors to focus on excelling in the academics and extracurricular activities they already excel at. By doing this, all dragonets will reach their greatest potential.
Apprenticeships[]
After completing their eight years of education, dragons begin their apprenticeships. These apprenticeships entail four years of labor and study done under the supervision of a mentor who has adopted the apprentice as a protégé. Everything they need to know to become a specialist in their chosen craft is taught to the dragon during his four years as an apprentice.
Tribal Relations[]
Canon Tribes[]
The RoseWings view the IceWings as an oppressively rigid clan. Although they disapprove of this, they want to maintain a neutral relationship with them because they are aware of all the Animus gifts and magic that are being used throughout the kingdom.
RoseWings are rather imprtial towards them and find the tribe's parenting style to be somewhat juvenile and immature, they admire how MudWings develop strong relationships with one another as siblings. Other than that, they don't really have a strong view towards the muddy tribe.
RoseWings don't truly think that NightWings have the ability to read minds and tell fortunes, thus they don't see them as a big danger. Considering the previous conflict they fought with IceWings, they have a neutral relationship with them.
They are unprejudiced toward the RainWings. RoseWings are aware of and presume they are a mix of RainWing and RoseWing due to their comparable physical characteristics. However, they also are aware of the fact that, prior to Queen Glory, RainWings were quite slothful dragons, and thus do not take their biological affinity for the tribe very seriously.
The tribe like how melodious the SandWings are, but they would rather not interact with them. This is due to the fact that they are conscious of the fact that SandWings aren't particularly intelligent and may be fairly crafty if not careful.
Due of the alliance's significant economic benefits for the tribe, the RoseWings have partnered with the SeaWings. Because the SeaWings are friends, they won't attack them by Coast Rhode, where the tribe has less defenses than they have above the Sweet Alpines. This offers additional security. In order to protect their alliance, they don't discuss their opinion that Queen Coral isn't really qualified to be a leader and gets enticed too readily.
Since the SkyWing tribe captured the RoseWing tribe, the RoseWing tribe has had animosity for the SkyWing tribe. They believe the SkyWings to be particularly vicious beings, especially under Queen Scarlet's leadership. The tribe and the RoseWings have a guarded relationship and never exchange any words.
Fanon Tribes[]
RoseWings admire the AviWings' morality and their religiosity. They also admire their skills in crafts and their enthusiasm for supporting it. They have a positive opinion overall about this tribe but would rather prefer to keep a neutral relationship with them because they are aware of how helpful they are and prefer to stay an independent tribe, afraid of another capture.
RoseWings are fascinated by the traditions of CrystalWings and enjoy their look, which resembles a crystal. Despite having a favorable perception of them, they maintain a neutral connection with the tribe.
RoseWings admire how close-knit the tribe is, especially with their Lady. RoseWings wish they could form an alliance with the DeathWings but know how they prefer to stay a lone tribe and therefore they have a neutral relationship with them.
RoseWings have a neutral connection with DriftWings and don't really have a strong opinion about them. They do, however, respect DriftWings for having a strict legal framework similar to their own.
Since the LightWings don't have a monarchy as most of the tribes do, RoseWings believe that the LightWings republic governance structure is highly dubious. They do, however, find their reflecting scales to be highly attractive and appreciate them.
TempestWings' love of violence and action is not something RoseWings support. They feel sorry for them since they think TempestWings haven't learned their lesson about refraining from pointless acts of violence since the Exile because they think such behavior is wicked. They are, however, a peaceful tribe and prefer to maintain a neutral relationship with them out of respect for their greater military might.
