Her Aesthetic
Description[]
Resene is a large, Sea/Silk hybrid. Her main scales are many variations of purple, and with a row of dark grey scales. Resene’s main scales are a SilkWing’s, except for the middle scales, which are bioluminescent scales. Her spikes are the ones in a SeaWing’s fins, but without the webbing in-between. The spikes are a dark purple/grey.
Resene’s tail is powerful, like a SeaWing’s. Her bioluminescent scales are a pure white color, and are VERY bright when lit up because of this. Resene’s bioluminescent scales are in the right places, so she can speak Aquatic, although it’s not very useful since she can’t breathe underwater, and can only hold her breath for as long as any non-SeaWing.
She has a dark orange/brown underbelly, with SeaWing scales on it. Resene has the muscular legs of a SeaWing. Her SilkWing wings are lilac, pale grey/purple, dark orange/brown, and very light purple. Resene has lightning-like white markings on her wings. Resene had to go through metamorphosis to get her wings.
She has antenne, but she cannot predict the weather, only sense vibrations. Resene has the SeaWing horns, along with more of a thick, SeaWing head. Her neck curves gracefully, like a SilkWing’s, and it is normally put upright. The middle of Resene’s body is bigger, and the closer you get to the head or tail, the thinner her body gets. Her talons are long and skinny, and they are not webbed. She has a lilac-colored tongue.
The triangle-shaped scales on her outer wing membranes and the back of her front legs are a dark purple. Resene’s antennae are a little shorter and thicker than they would be if they were a pure SilkWing’s. Her talons are pure white, and very easily stained by dirt, blood, and dye. She has large, deep brown eyes.
Accessories[]
Resene has two accessories. One is a handmade waterproof leather bag that is a little bit misshapen. It has Resene’s new watermark on it, a white lightning pattern. She made the bag herself, and might make more in the future. The other is a silver band given to her by Cotesia for her 30th hatching day. Cotesia bought it from the market and gave it to her.
Personality[]
Resene is able to respond to situations quickly, getting her out of a few difficult situations. She is also very flexible and spontaneous, and dislikes planning out a lot of her day. Resene always has a few jokes up her sleeve, since it always makes her feel better by making others laugh. She is pretty casual, not caring much about her looks.
Resene can be deceptive sometimes, especially with the way she acts. Sometimes she can hide entire parts of her personality and life. Resene makes decisions at the drop of a hat, not thinking things through, and it has been problematic throughout her lifetime. She also is temperamental, getting mad over the slightest insult. Resene can be pretty grim, often thinking of the worst case scenarios. She is also an attention-seeker, and tries to do so through jokes and such.
Backstory[]
Resene was hatched 100 years after the third arc. Hybrids were more common now, the tribes were more accepting, the Othermind and Wasp were defeated, and dragons of both continents could live on either. Her parents met one day in the Chert market(I made this name up, it is located on one of the islands in the Bay of a Thousand Scales, and all tribes live here)where Slate was selling pearls, and Periwinkle was looking for gems to buy to make jewelry to sell. They began dating, and one day, Resene’s brother, Aegean was hatched. He is SeaWing dominant, with the SilkWing parts of him being orange eyes, useless antenne, and a SilkWing tail.
When Aegean was 4, Resene hatched. She strangely happened to be perfectly balanced between the two tribes. Resene was hatched without wings. She and her older brother were loved, and they were a happy family. At six, Resene went into metamorphosis. When she emerged, she did not have silk, but she had wings. Resene was seven when Spruce hatched. Spruce is SilkWing dominant, and the SeaWing things she did have were a SeaWing body shape and being able to light up her eyes.
Aegean moved out when Spruce hatched. Their parents continued to love and care for them unconditionally. Resene was ten when she moved out. She started looking for a job, but there weren’t any open. Resene had to start doing what her father did that she hated: pearl diving. It was a struggle for her, for she had refused to learn how to pearl dive, and Resene couldn’t breathe underwater.
She slowly learned how to do it, and began selling them on the market, when she realized that just pearl fishing wouldn’t be enough to cover everything. So Resene started learning how to fish. It was very much a struggle, but she was able to do it after two months. Resene settled into her new routine: wake up, eat the leftovers from dinner for breakfast, fish for the rest of the morning, sell her fish and pearls, buy whatever she needed from the market, spend time with her friends, go home, relax, eat dinner, and go to bed.
But one morning, when Resene was 20, the Chert Market held the First Annual Chert Market Festival. Resene was asked to help prepare for it, and she decided to accept it. Resene, along with two other dragons, began planning it. One of them was a male SkyWing named Agate, and the other was an NB HiveWing named Cotesia. The trio became friends. Resene began falling in love with Cotesia, but she didn’t realize it. The day of the festival arrived. Dragons were bustling around the plaza, doing the many activities.
When the sky grew dark, a team of SilkWings began making a large silk banner in the plaza. When they finished, it said, “Resene, will you be my mate?” Resene was shocked, but realized that she HAD loved Cotesia. She said yes, and they kissed. They began dating after that day, and every year on that date, another festival was held, and it was their anniversary. When Resene was 30, the pair moved in together, and adopted a dragonet, Eis, a male IceWing dragonet only a year old.
Resene still works as a pearl diver and fisher, but Cotesia helps too, and works as a writer. Their dragonet, Eis, is five now, and goes to a local school. The two are planning on adopting another dragonet soon. Resene’s parents and siblings still live in the area, and they all are alive and well. Recently, Resene has started learning how to make bags and pouches, and her first one she made is waterproofed for her to carry underwater trinkets and food.
Relationships[]
Periwinkle[]
Periwinkle and Resene love each other in the way a mother/daughter relationship should. Sometimes they get into arguments, but they make up and hug it out.
Slate[]
Resene and Slate were close when Resene was young, but they drifted apart when Resene needed help with learning how to pearl dive, when she had refused to learn how to. Resene never asked him for help with this, and really destroyed a lot of their relationship.
Aegean[]
As Resene’s older brother, Aegean would play pranks on her, and try to get her to laugh. He sparked Resene’s jokes and mischievousness. They are still pretty close, and go on fun trips together occasionally.
Spruce[]
Resene moved out when Spruce was three, but even after she moved out, they still saw each other occasionally. They aren’t as close as Aegean and Resene are, but they still share some sisterly love.
Cotesia[]
Cotesia is an NB HiveWing, and Resene’s mate. They have great storytelling skill that they use in their writing. The two have a healthy relationship, and although they fight sometimes, Resene and Cotesia make up quickly.
Eis[]
Eis is a male IceWing dragonet, only five years old, and he is Resene and Cotesia’s adopted son. Eis loves his parents, and he knows he’s adopted.
Agate[]
Agate is the other planner for the Chert Market Festival. He is a male SkyWing, and Agate and Resene are friends. He is aro/ace.

Hobbies[]
Resene has a drawing hobby, and she sometimes illustrates Cotesia’s scrolls. She also has a brand new bag making hobby, she’s only made one bag so far.
