appearance
overlooked, just the way he likes it. pristine isn't the first dragon you'd notice in a crowd, or even the second, third, fourth...
he's scrawny, with very thin limbs and wings that appear too large for him. pristine's ribs are often able to be counted through his scales. he can sometimes be seen wearing a face mask due to his poor health.
the dragonet's claws are barely serrated, unable to grip into the icy sidewalks of the kingdom he resides in. he often needs to use mobility aids-namely crutches with "cleat" bottoms-in order to steady himself against the ice. he doesn't decorate his crutches, as he sees no need to.
his scales are soft and thin, and are damaged very easily. they are a light brown in color, nearly white. they possess a sickly pallor, washed out and pale. true to his name, his scales are always pristine.
his spikes are long yet blunted, fading from white to tan as they near his back. his long horns curve backwards, striped with white. a white diamond shape rests in the middle of his forehead.
pristine’s eyes are striking. they have large bags under them due to the many sleepless nights pristine has lived through because of his insomnia. they are a slate grey-green in color, dull and without glimmer. they are heavy-lidded, perpetually sleepy, with sharp, spiky lashes.
personality
despite self-describing as a pessimist, pristine is really an optimist to his core. he greets every day with a warm smile, a stark contrast in comparison to the expressions of his fellow icewings.
he doesn’t care much for tradition, he never has. he’s able to easily criticize antiquated practices, having a great sense of
history
the youngest child and only son of the prominent clover-snow family, pristine was a disappointment since day one. his father, lord pine, wished for a strong and strapping son to train to inherit his title, while his mother, lady fir, desired another girl to prepare for a societal debut.
unfortunately, pristine was not that dragonet for either of them. he was sickly from hatching, it was clear something was wrong with him.
as such, his parents did not deign to waste their time on him.
thus, pristine was raised by a rotating selection of servants until he was five, where the help and doting disappeared, showing the dragonet the harsh reality of the world: nobody will come to save you.
he was also carted around to so many physicians and specialists that he lost count. all of them had different diagnoses, but later on, they all simply concluded he hatched wrong, proving his budding suspicions. several of them said he probably wouldn’t live past the age of ten and that it was a wonder he had lived this long; to which neither pine nor fir nor pristine himself shed a tear.
he has always been an outsider within his family, even in name. and pristine had accepted this role, having began to spend less and less time at home. he would simply slip out with his medication and crutches, wandering around the city of fellshard with rapt wonder.
this was when he began to discover his “ability”, so to speak. whenever something unfortunate happened to him, a beneficial thing would happen to someone else. pristine started using this to secretly aid others, but it unfortunately got him noticed by…someone.
one day, he met a prickly mudwing hybrid who called himself rewind. pristine had laughed unintentionally, leading rewind to make fun of pristine’s own name. hurt, pristine hit rewind in the head with one of his crutches, leading to an argument which itself eventually led to a beautiful friendship.
