Opalescent is not a hybrid, although it's easy to see why others assume so. He is a large SeaWing, with unusually pale scales, and the kind of metallic wings commonly associated with IceWings. However, as far as he (or his family) knows, if he has any IceWing blood, it would be ridiculously distant. His main scales are a very pale blue, and his overscales are a slightly darker version of this colour. His gill-scales are a similar colour to his overscales, though slightly more purple. His underbelly is a pale grey-blue-purple colour, darker than his main scales. His frill and paw webbing are a sort of pale-ish indigo colour, and his wings are silver, tinted with blue. His eyes are pale blue, his horns and claws are silver-ish, and his glowscales are lilac. One of his horns has the tip broken off.
Opalescent's scales do shimmer like opals in the light, but only about as much as any SeaWing's would. The main changes are in the colour and shade of the scales, not in how iridescent they are. As if Opalescent wasn't already ridiculously easy to spot, he has several scars, in particular several distinctive scars. These include most of one of his ears being missing due to simply being torn off, three scratches going down the side of his snout and across his nostril and mouth, a torn part of his frill near the base of his neck that is actually fairly convenient for wearing a necklace, a (draconic) bite mark near the shoulder of one wing, a couple of small wing tears, claw marks on one foot/ankle where somebody tried to grab him, what may be either a venom scar or a burn on the 'hand' of one wing, a missing toe on his back right foot thanks to an IceWing's frostbreath, and a patch on his tail where a dragon was rather aggressive in attacking his tail. Multiple times. With numerous scratches on top of each other. Finally, and most obviously (were you to be looking at him from underneath), he has a particularly long scar, going from near the pit of his right front leg diagonally down to near his left back leg. (Funnily enough, the dragon who gave him this scar is actually quite close to him now.) Opalescent has other scars, of course, but these are the most obvious ones. (Additionally, he only has one barbel - the other one seems to have been partially ripped off.)
His glowscales thankfully aren't too damaged by these scars - there are certain places where the scarring interrupts the glow, of course, but most SeaWings can still get the general idea of what he's saying. Opalescent's glowscales seem to generally be more rounded than other dragons' - long blob-ish shapes instead of rectangular stripes, for instance. Their glow is also slightly duller than average, but only slightly.
In terms of frame, Opalescent is about average - strong, and far from serpentine, but obviously made for swimming. His wings are slightly larger than usual, and his frill tends to be folded back. He tends not to let his barbels droop directly downwards. His snout, obviously, ends in a sort of beak like most dragons, and is slightly more curved than usual. Opalescent has long, sturdy legs, and a long tail.
He rarely keeps a weapon with him in daily life, but when he's doing his job is another matter. He tends to use the long spear usually associated with high-ranking SeaWings or important guards, though it's obviously been through a lot of wear. He's attached to it, though, and uses it anyway. Opalescent usually wears a small hourglass with dark blue sand on a long, loose silver chain around his neck. It was a gift, and he's grown very attached to it as well.

- The only scars you have to draw on him are the ones listed in his appearance section - and, even then, if the side the scar is on isn't specified, you can just put it on the side you're not drawing if you want to.
