Moonwatcher, Winter, and Qibli's Fate (cover)

By Icestar.

This is the story of Winterwatcher. But it's basically Qinterwatcher because people fight, bite, argue, and draw weird Moonbli things to each other to make their ships win over other's ships. Even the author wants Qibli and Moon's relationship, not Qinterwatcher.

QINTERWATCHER IS THE PEACEFUL SOLUTION PLUS IT'S POLY RELATIONSHIP!

Please don’t edit or plagiarize, and it's my first fanfic. There may be bad grammar.

TW for LGBTQ+phobia at the end on Chapter 7.

NOT CRINGY AT THE END. THIS WAS WRITTEN WHEN I WAS NEW TO THE WIKI.

Prologue[]

POV: Winter[]

Winter was excited to come back to Jade Mountain Academy. He was happy to see Qibli, Moon, Turtle, Kinkajou... but basically Moon.

Winter missed all of the students at Jade Mountain Academy. It was full of relief when Winter's cousin, Queen Snowfall, the queen of the IceWings, said he could go back to Jade Mountain Academy.

He thought about his scavenger, Daffodil. Daffodil could be safe in Jade Mountain, with every queen promised to make everyone didn't eat scavengers. Everything was good, and he would just go to Jade Mountain Academy.

Soon, he saw the top of Jade Mountain. He soared over to the mountain peak. That was where his heart truly belonged.

Chapter 1: Broken Relationship[]

POV: Winter[]

Winter sat with Qibli and Moon. It was free time, and he wanted to ask everything. Winter was both happy and sad at Qibli's relationship with Moon had broken up with Qibli. But they were still friends.

Moon said Qibli met a SandWing called Ostrich, and Ostrich loved Qibli. So Qibli decided to break up with Moon. Moon was shocked when she first heard about it, but she was happy that Qibli found his real soulmate.

"But I'm okay about it. It's Qibli's choice about choosing his eternal partner," Moon said.

"Um, do you want to see Daffodil? She's at scavenger cave with the others." Winter quickly asked. Scavenger cave was a new cave for scavengers, who were eager to meet and learn Dragon.

"Sure," Moon replied. "I want to see them and read their minds. You know, I have read Daffodil's mind when you were at Sanctuary, if you didn't notice," Moon added.

"And I want to see it, no, her, too. Sky and Wren could be here! He is so excitable," Qibli said. Winter eagerly went to the Scavenger cave with Qibli and Moon.

Chapter 2: The Scavenger Cave[]

POV: Winter[]

The Scavenger cave was at the end of the mountains. They flew for an hour to arrive there.

"Maybe Tsunami wanted to not make the scavenger cave." Qibli joked to Winter.

"No, maybe Tsunami wanted to breed them and serve them as Clay's lunch." Moon joked back. They were almost at the Scavenger cave. They saw the outline of Sky there.

"Hi, Sky! Is Wren with you?" Winter asked.

"Yes! She is teaching Dragon to the students!" Sky said. They landed next to Sky and Wren. Wren was squeaking and chirping to the smaller scavengers, with some Dragon mixed with it. One scavenger came to Winter.

"Hmm. I know who you are." He said. His growls and accents were all wrong, but he could be good if he practiced. Daffodil, who was next to the scavenger, chirped something to him. He chirped back.

"You are Winter. Nice name."

"Yes. I'm Winter of the IceWings," Winter said.

"I'm Moonwatcher, but please call me Moon," Moon added.

"And I'm Qibli. Nice to meet you," Qibli said. Wren saw the three dragons and waved her paws.

"I'm teaching really hard, but they are not good learners. Even Sky will speak better than them!" Wren said, exhausted. They went to their cave and had a good nap.

Chapter 3: Something More than picture[]

POV: Winter[]

Winter had a terrible dream. Qibli was burning, and Moon was sobbing behind him. Kinkajou tried to put off the fire, but it was no use. Turtle burned with his Skyfire. The Skyfire made the fire grow faster. This is a dream, Winter thought. He woke up in relief.

"Qibli? Are you here?" Winter asked his clawmate.

"Yeah. I'm here. You disturbed me from the baking lizards." Qibli said, yawning.

"Yeah, and that's only a dream, daydreaming friend," Winter said to Qibli. He walked around the hall for a minute. Winter went to the library and read some scrolls. When he read four scrolls, the classes started.

Winter went to the art cave and saw Silver Winglet with Jade Winglet. He picked up a canvas with a sharp paintbrush and started to draw something. Moon was right next to him, and Qibli was on the far side of the art cave. Moon gazed at Winter's canvas. Qibli copied her.

"What are you drawing? I'm drawing the rainforest." Moon asked.

"Oh, me?" Winter was embarrassed. He was drawing Winter himself, but that part was not embarrassing. He drew Moon with himself.

"I see white and black things. It's so weird." Qibli murmured.

Winter took a breath and said, "It's Moon and me."

Chapter 4: Picture of Moon[]

POV: Winter[]

Moon was startled. Winter thought he wanted to hide in a mouse hole.

"Oh. Ooooh. That explains a lot." Qibli whispered to Moon.

"Yes. That explains a lot."

They walked away from Winter, murmuring something that Winter couldn't hear. Moon seemed to make an invisible wall between Winter and her. Winter continued his drawing of Moon and himself, full of confused feelings. After the class was finished, Winter dried his painting and went to his cave.

"Qibli? I'm here." Winter said.

Qibli stared at him like a dragon watching oversized penguins instead of talking to him like an actual dragon.

Winter went to the prey center to eat some fish. He picked up a plump salmon and started to eat it. Why did you say that? Why? His mind asked him. He thought Qibli with Moon again and immediately erased the scene. He liked Qibli, but he also liked Moon.

When he just finished eating the salmon's tail, Jade Winglet walked to the prey center. Peril snatched a cow and started to burn it. Clay watched it with dismay. Moon and Kinkajou were with a bunch of RainWings. Turtle picked a large mackerel and sat next to Winter.

"Hi, Winter. Are you okay? You look sad and confused and..." Turtle trailed his words when Winter glared at him.

"It's none of your business, Turtle." Winter shortly said and flew to his cave, abandoning his salmon.

He stared at his painting. "Why is every single dragon hiding something from me?" He muttered bitterly to himself.

Chapter 5: A secret meeting[]

POV: Winter[]

That night, Winter went outside to meet Moon. Qibli was there, too.

"Why did you call me?" Moon asked.

"You seemed to keep a secret from me, aren't you? How can you keep a secret from your friend? How can you keep a secret from someone who is truly friends with you? I really like you, but you seemed to hide something from me, like how I behaved when I was young! Moon, how can you do that? Please, tell me what you know!" Winter said. His voice was trembling.

"Ooh, so he really liked you, isn't he?" Qibli observed.

Moon gasped. "I wasn't hiding a secret from you. I actually liked you too, and I was discussing that with Qibli. But when you drew the painting, I was sure that you felt the same too. I was kind of sure that you liked Lynx, or even have eggs with her." Ewwww

Winter gasped, louder than Moon. "I don't like Lynx! I mean, she's my friend, but I don't like her. She's only a friend, and I would rather go to Pantala and live alone than having eggs. Moon, don't you understand? I don't like Lynx. She's only friends with me, and no one will ship me with her. My heart belongs to Jade Mountain, Qibli, and you. I think I kind of like Qibli and you." Winter was a bit dizzy for a while, but Moon spoke something to him, so he listened to it.

"Winter, I just wanted to say this word, but I was afraid that you won't admit it. Since you confessed that, we're in a Polyamory relationship."

Chapter 6: Where his heart belongs[]

POV: Winter[]

Winter was surprised. "What?" He blinked.

"It's a word used for dragons with relationship like ours, but it isn't important anyway." Qibli said. "But do you really like me like you feel to Moon?"

"Yes. Qibli, I love you, and I want you to be with me." Winter said. It sounded abnormally cringy to him, and he was afraid if Qibli was going to tease him. Fortunately, his answer was surprisingly different.

"Yeah, buddy. I love you. You're the best dragon ever. Cold breathed walrus guy, totally my type." Qibli said, half joking. Winter thought he saw a glint of mixture between relieved and happy feeling in Qibli's ebony-black eyes.

"Great." Moon said. "Do we just keep this relationship, or does someone break it?"

"Of course no one will break this!" Qibli exclaimed.

Moon stared at Qibli and Winter and said, "And I believe no one will do."

"Moon, Qibli, and Winter? Go to your big fat butt to your houses!" Tsunami bellowed to them. "It's not good when you sneak around at night, you know. If you don't know what I'm saying, go to your houses right NOW!"

"Okay." They said. Qibli and Winter trotted to their butt houses. Qibli snored loudly, but Winter couldn't sleep. Not because of Qibli's annoying snoring. It didn't affect him, in fact. He was happy with Moon and Qibli's existence than anything on Pyrrhia.

Chapter 7: Couple again[]

POV: Winter[]

Winter woke up. Qibli was already stretching his wings. Winter yawned and asked, "Do we have to eat breakfast?"

"Yeah. Yawn. Let's go, buddy." Qibli said. They flew to the prey center together. Qibli picked a tiny desert lizard, and Winter chose a silverfish to eat. Then, Moon, Kinkajou, and a SkyWing came to the prey center. She might be Moon's new clawmate, Winter thought.

"Hi… Sad morning! Isn't it?" Kinkajou said sadly to Qibli and Winter.

"Yes. Err morning. You can have the fruits there." Winter shortly said and concentrated on his fish. The fish tasted really delicious like it was a food on Queen Glacier's wedding.

"Alright. Let's go to our cave." Winter said to Qibli after they ate the short meal. Then, Moon called Winter and Qibli as they arrived.

"Winter! Qibli! Come here!" Moon said. Moon seemed to be very urgent. Qibli looked very surprised.

"Why, Moon?" Winter said, gentler than he expected. Qibli wrinkled his snout in surprise.

"Sure. We're now a couple." He said to Moon. Behind him, Kinkajou, Anemone, and some RainWings and SeaWings were singing.

"Moon and Winter, flying with each other, getting all k-i-s-s-y..." Anemone sang first. "Kissy Moon, Lovely Winter. Flying in the s-k-y...."

"Get your kelp wedding at Queen Coral's palace!"

"Hahaha, hilarious." Winter murmured to himself, enjoying these songs.

"Winter and Moon? But they hated each other! What if they become like Foeslayer and Arctic? Never mind, I'm out of this doom-bringing situation." An IceWing murmured to herself. She was Alba.

"Our school's first couple! Hooray!" Qibli said, but Winter could hear Qibli's sadness. He assumed that Qibli was sad to be ignored from this weird ceremony. He might tell Winter to break up with him.

"I... Ostrich harassed me, for being in a polyamorous relationship. She said a lot of slurs to me." Qibli said to Winter, very quietly. "I'm too sad, Winter."

"What?" Winter couldn't believe his ears. It was cruel to harass a dragon just for being LGBTQ+. "Qibli," He whispered. "I'll take care of Ostrich. Please don't get offended by homophobic dragons." Winter smiled to Qibli.

Qibli's face lit up. "You're the best IceWing friend ever! But it's all because of Icicle's cruel manners."

Chapter 8: Eggs in the Moon[]

POV: Winter[]

After eating breakfast, they went to the history cave. Moon, Kinkajou, and a new SkyWing from Gold Winglet were waiting for them. She had bronze scales and eye-soring vermilion eyes, along with a small bracelet.

The SkyWing flicked her tail to them. "Hi, guys. What's your name? I'm Bronze, by the way." She murmured something to Moon, and Moon whispered something to her.

"I'm Winter," Winter said. "And this is Qibli."

Bronze made a funny face. She looked like she was trying to not laugh. "So, you're Winter. Aha, I know. You love Moonwatcher, don't you?" Bronze examined Qibli. "Qibli, Qibli, Qibli. I know. You were at Scorpion Den, aren't you?"

"Yes. How did you know that?"

"Oh, don't you know? I lived near the Scorpion Den! I saw Thorn, I mean, Queen Thorn's outclaws, and I was super interested in it! Qibli, I want to know about your outclaw life!" Bronze said to Qibli.

"Oh, thanks. Oh, the history class is starting! Sorry!" Qibli said, startled by the bell.

Today, Webs taught them about Albatross. It was about an animus dragon who overused his powers and gone mad. A SeaWing called Indigo and Fathom saved the royal SeaWings from being killed by Albatross. His grandson, Fathom, sworn to not use his animus power to Pearl, his sister.

"We'll learn about Fathom next section." Webs said. Then, he said, "Okay, the class is finished!"

When the class was finished, Moon seemed to have a painful bellyache.

"Winter? Qibli? Are you there?" Moon said. "This is very urgent!"

"Hey, let's go, Qibli!" Winter exclaimed gleefully. "What's wrong, Moon?"

"Winter, my stomach hurts... I think I have eggs!"

Chapter 9: New Eggs in the World[]

POV: Winter[]

"What?" Qibli said. "That's not true! How do you know if you have eggs?"

Winter was very surprised too. But he had to know who the eggs belong to. "Moon, are your eggs mine or Qibli's? Are they male, female, or non-binary? Are they safe? Could you feel them? None of them are dead, right?"

"It's... Both of you!" Moon said, gasping and breathing. She looked like she would explode. Winter had to do something for his and Qibli's partner.

"Qibli, get Clay! Or whoever knows about laying eggs! Moon's mother, yes! Get Moon's mother, Secretkeeper!" He said urgently. This was a grave situation. They had to move faster, or Moon would have trouble with the eggs. They could both die, in the worst scenario.

"Moon, I love you! You don't have to die!" Winter yelled.

"I know, Winter. I think I can survive." Moon replied weakly. Oh, three moons! Why is he so late? Winter thought. Then, he heard a sound of flapping. It was four dragons -- Green, brown, black, and yellow -- landing beside him and Moon.

"Winter, are we late? I brought Clay, Secretkeeper, and even Queen Glory! They'll help Moon to lay our eggs." Qibli repeated proudly. "Our eggs."

"Ahem. I wanted my favorite subject to be safe, so I went here. Not needed." Glory corrected.

"And I wanted my daughter to be safe. No, Morrowseer and mine." Secretkeeper said to them. She saw Clay and Glory's expression and trailed her words.

"Did you know that your father tried to kill me?" Glory said curiously. She saw Moon's horrified face and added, "I mean, Morrowseer was cruel, but you are my favorite subject! That is really interesting! You're my favorite subject, along with Kinkajou." Glory continued.

"Oh, Moonwatcher is Morrowseer's daughter? She is so different from his father!" Clay said. "Maybe it's our jobs to make dragons better than before. Moonwatcher was really shy, you know."

"Maybe not!" Qibli and Winter said, and they both laughed. That's because of us! Winter thought quietly. "Hey, Qibli, can you read minds?" Winter asked in a friendly way.

"Nah. I wish I could, buddy."

Chapter 10: Three new dragonets[]

POV: Winter[]

Six months later...

Winter was sitting on a rock. Qibli was with him, looking at the sunset. "Qibli," He said casually. "Did you see the eggs?" He thought about his eggs. one was jet-black with flickers of white, the other being half purple and half light blue.

"Yes! Two of them are yours! And one is mine! Congratulations!" Qibli said. They watched the sunset fading away. Watching the sunset was perfect for erasing other thoughts. Then, a voice interrupted him.

"You're Winter and Qibli, right? Come to the rainforest! Quick!" The stranger said. She was a SilkWing. Winter realized she was Luna, the first SilkWing from Pantala. If he's right, Luna would be in Gold Winglet. But that was not important.

"Why?" Winter asked.

"There's no time to explain! Come!" Luna said. So they flew to the rainforest. There was a cracking sound in the rainforest.

They reached the rainforest at midnight. Winter's sharp IceWing eyes were guiding him. Two bright moons were shining above them. Soon, they came to the NightWing village. Deathbringer was congratulating him.

"Winter! Your hybrid is hatching! My daughter, Firefly, will wait for you!" He said. "And you too, SandWing. Three eggs are hatching!"

They followed the RainWing-NightWing hybrid and saw Moon with three dragonets. Two of them had black with white IceWing spikes and black eyes. The remaining one was a little bit smaller, with gold and black scales.

"This is Dunemaker, Qibli's child." Moon said, pointing at the male dragonet, who was definitely Qibli's. Qibli looked proud. "And..." Moon trailed her words. "The female one is Frostleaf, and the male one is Snowhunter. They are your children, Winter."

Epilogue[]

POV: Secretkeeper[]

Grandmother of Snowhunter, Frostleaf, and Dunemaker Four years later...

Secretkeeper saw her grandchildren, Frostleaf, Snowhunter, and little Dunemaker, playing at the large trampoline with RainWings and NightWings. They seemed happy.

"Got you!" Snowhunter yelled at a camouflaged RainWing named Dragonfruit.

"Hey, how did you find me?" Dragonfruit asked Snowhunter.

"It's so easy. I can hear your thoughts and see the future." Snowhunter said with proudness. "And my sister can only see the future."

The RainWings cooed at him.

"Me too! Me too! I can read your minds!" Little Dunemaker interrupted him. His ebony-black eyes glinted with excitement.

The RainWings cooed again. Secretkeeper watched the dragonets with full of proud, but her mind was worrying about their 'powers'. Then, Moon and Winter, her son-in-law, came behind him.

"Winter, is it okay for my grandchildren to reveal their secrets?" Secretkeeper asked. Winter opened his mouth to respond, but Moon replied to her.

"Of course, mother! I was okay with my secrets!" She said. Then, Qibli walked to them and sat beside Moon and Winter.

"They can use their powers in a good way," Qibli said to Secretkeeper. " And Moon once used her power to know who made the history cave explode long ago."

"Did you hear the vision Moon had, Secretkeeper? Moon said Frostleaf is going to be in Jade Winglet, like we were! Her clawmate is going to be Auklet—who is Queen Coral's youngest daughter— and Mink! If you don't know who Mink is, which you should," the sarcastic IceWing prince continues. "Mink is Queen Snowfall's sister, but she is super young. She might be become a hero like us! Moon's power is so great. Reading minds and seeing the future isn't bad thing." Winter chimed in.

“Me too! Me too! I can read your minds and see the future!" Little Dunemaker interrupted Winter.

"Just... don't worry. They will use their powers in a good way." Qibli finished the long conversation.

"That's good," Secretkeeper said. "I hope they will use their powers in a good way.
