Monomorium was an adult male WorkWing animus. After killing her older sister in revenge, he became the ruler of WorkWings when his siblings fled. Originally his rule went swimmingly well until from growing paranoia and insanity caused a massacre in a council trying to kill IceWing refugees.
Appearance
Monomorium was large, towering over most dragons. Despite his position he was wingless, though was able to get around on his own pretty well even in older ages. He is thin but agile and resilient, surviving falls. He had gray scales with splashes of gray like ash. His eyes were a bottomless black pit, barely a shin on them. He had 2 horns that appeared to split into 4, each horn splitting in the middle to create one curling towards the sky, and the other forward like ram horns. His antennae remained pointing towards the ground, sometimes on the side of his face.
He wore his armor at all times, especially in his later years, and rarely wore garments or jewelery. He had many scars from his mother and Pearlscrapper, some he allegedy healed with his magic.
Personality
Monomorium had a rough life forming him into a paranoid, anxious and aggressive dragon. He's silent, wary, and often comes off as creepy or off-putting. He's asocial and struggles to be cooperative even as a Vague. He was desperately trying to improve on his social skills, his rule getting better at the middle before his magic took over. The more he used his magic, the more paranoid and anxious he became. He'd grow almost mute and glare at everyone with a hint of rage. Panics send him into an endless spiral of worry.
Biography
Monomorium's mother didn't favor Mono at his hatching, paying barely any attention to him. He was often mistreated and isolated from events or family. He discovered his magic on his own after wishing for food after 3 days of being unfed, a fish jumping in his palm.
Since he's kept his magic a secret from everyone, seeing it as his last hope. Anytime he was nearly caught, he'd often write it off with an excuse.
After a terrible night of public humiliation by his family, Monomorium fled the kingdom, eventually reaching a SilkWing village. There he'd meet Swallowtail, a SilkWing-NightWing hybrid. They became close friends as she helped him get used to the village and recover. Eventually Monomorium grew a crush, confessing on a full moon, the two becoming partners. He'd live one year in the village, using his magic to make contributions and art. However the newly crowned Vague Pearlscrapper heard about his whereabouts and exploit and eventually invaded the village to get Monomorium back. Originally he resisted with his magic, however Pearl instructed a guard to find Swallowtail, killing her infront of Monomorium. His mind was ravaged enough to be cuffed and brought back to the kingdom.
He was tortured until he was willing to comply with Pearlscrapper, she using him in tests planning for his magic to enhance their weaponry and dunes. She also had personal requests such as brightening her jewelry or making her shine at day and glow at night. The magic began taking a toll on him and he attempted to warn her but instead he was publicly slashed in the neck.
Monomorium's mental health would worsen until during a festival he'd kill Pearlscrapper by enchanting her pearls to strangle her while her impaled her with a spear. His murder scared his siblings aware from the kingdom, leaving him left to claim the crown. After the first week of suspense, Monomorium began to calm down, though still aloof. He tried to avoid using his magic to control others, wanting to deeply strive to be better than any of his family. After a few months his rule began to be more smooth sailing, making many contributions to the tribe. His peak was when he was able to communicate with officials again and was somewhat mentally stable, making many contributions, being the host of the best Beetle Day party of WorkWing history.
However in his older age, the magic began to inflict him again, this time worse. He soon grew very paranoid and insane, pushing others away. At the arrival of 5 lost IceWings, one an animus, he at first gladly allowed them to take refuge in the kingdom. Though after discovering one was an animus, he grew paranoid that they were possibly sent by Pannipha to kill him. The pressure became too much when he began a massacre at a council to discuss the Pyrrhians, killing 3 of the 5 IceWings as well as many attendees. He was stopped by an IceWing animus who enchanted his armor to nullify his magic and shortly after a spear to impale him.

Mother
Monomorium dislikes his abusive mother, keeping his magic a secret from her. He never saw her as his mother, only as a layer of his egg.
Pearlscrapper
Monomorium despises his older sister and wishes she never existed. He was delightful and cheery after killing her, wishing he could do so 50 times.
Swallowtail
Monomorium loved Swallowtail. She was the only dragon in his life who cared about him at his worse. Her death devestated him, being the only thing that threw him off guard enough to be captured.

- Monomorium is made up of "mono" or one, and morium which is "moral".
- This is an unusual as WorkWings don't have names like this.
- This is because Monomorium's previous name was actually Silvermorium, roughly intending to mean 'silver mind' or specifically 'silver thinker'.
- He removed the silver to disassociate with his family, becoming 'one mind' or 'one thinker'.
