Mistyrise, sometimes nicknamed Misty, is a female SilkWing and SeaWing hybrid who lives on the outskirts of Sanctuary. She produces silk unlike any other SilkWing; hers is tougher and waterproof. Mistyrise occasionally visits Sanctuary to sell waterproof scarves, bags, and other items. She also enjoys art, but mostly as a hobby.
Appearance[]
Mistyrise is quite small for her age; her build is slim and elongated, albeit with less curvature than a purebred SilkWing. As a nod to her SeaWing genes, her legs are a bit short and rounded. Misty has a long snout, small claws, and a delicate tail. She always has a strange far-off look in her eyes, her expression wistful and almost melancholy.
Her scales are a pale shade of lavender, pearly and gleaming in the moonlight. Iridescent blue and green streaks and speckles her entire body in beautiful patterns. Misty possesses a row of purple gills lining her neck as well as pale blue antennae on her head. Her thin horns are curved and a medium violet, the same shade as the row of small spikes trailing her spine. Misty's eyes are a deep bluish-violet.
When she was a dragonet, Misty's wingbuds were purple and shaped like flower petals. After her Metamorphosis, Misty grew in four iridescent blue-and-violet wings flecked with aquamarine.
She's sometimes seen wearing a short white cloak woven from waterproof silk and decorated with a pink heart pattern.
Personality[]
Misty is an introvert at heart, spending the majority of her time alone. She's passive, quiet, observant, thoughtful, and modest. She is a self-sufficient dragon who doesn't rely on anyone else to sustain herself. She dislikes taking risks and is content with a peaceful, uneventful life. Misty comes off to others as reserved, aloof, and sometimes blunt.
She only feels like herself when alone because she feels intimidated by other dragons. Misty is compliant to rules and tries her best to never be a burden on others. Sometimes she wishes to stand her ground and talk back against someone who she thinks is wrong, but she lacks confidence and hates confrontation. She feels small and vulnerable when dragons are angry at her, so she always tries to please others.
To the few individuals Misty trusts, she shows an amiable and affectionate side. However, Mistyrise still feels that being too attached to her loved ones makes her clingy and damages her self-reliance. She doesn't like feeling indebted to those who do her favors; she prefers to tend to her own needs without giving nor taking from others.
Abilities[]
Misty can sense nearby dragons with her antennae as well as predict the weather. She has strong night vision, but is also more sensitive to daylight. Bright sunlight causes her eyestrain and headaches, so Misty usually hides at the bottom of a lake when she predicts a sunny day. She can breathe underwater with her gills; however, her gills are very sensitive and can't handle saltwater well. She's not a very fast swimmer either, lacking webbing or a strong tail.
The silk she produces from her wrists is unlike that of any other SilkWing; hers is thicker, tougher, somewhat rubbery, and waterproof. Misty uses her special silk to weave waterproof webs, tapestries, accessories, and other wares.
Misty is incompetent in combat. Not only she lacks any natural offensive powers, but she also has low physical strength and endurance. Her overall speed is middling, including her running, swimming, and flying skills.
Trivia[]
- Misty has a fear of all piercing-based jewelry, especially embedded gems. She sometimes has nightmares where pieces of flying jewelry swarm her like wasps and peck at her scales.
- Mistyrise was originally a 3/4 SeaWing and 1/4 RainWing before she got revamped. She also lived in the Rainforest Kingdom and owned a haven for cats.
