Lightning is a noble SkyWing and brother to Thunder. He was the heir to his family, but after his brother proved to be a prodigy, he fell out of favor for inheritance. He was then quietly sent out of the Royal Capital to govern a faraway village called West Face in the middle of nowhere to 'get him out of the way'.
Appearance[]
frickin idk??? i suck with color lol. He's pale yellow, and the scales along his spine rapidly darken. claws are black and hooked, horns are yellow-white but dark at the tips, lightning bolt shaped. Wings are pale gray, white, with hints of purple, like a storm cloud. Bright red eyes. Pretty tall, lean, naturally a lean bean, kinda skinny, big wings, usually held in a cloak like shape, and a long usually moving tail (sign of agitation, he's always agitates lmao)

After the events of Dragons In West Face Lightning bears a two major scars, one across his lower neck, and over his right eye.
Personality[]
To most dragons, Lightning is your standard SkyWing noble, prideful, critical, strict, and arrogant with a dash of cruelty and sadism, and they wouldn't be wrong. He's all of those things, though it's all a mask to hide his weaknesses and insecurities-a very real mask, nonetheless.
Lightning while skilled in all things demanded of a noble, such as combat, governing, and commanding, is more academically inclined. While he doesn't hate what's required of him as a high-class dragon, he'd much preferred spending his time in the library, learning about natural sciences and the vast histories of the world. This of course doesn't fit with the image of a proper SkyWing noble, and so he does his best to hide his past-times and hobbies. This need to conform was instilled by his parents' harsh discipline and his own desire has have friends.
He's desperate for approval and affection, but his obsessive need to be a real SkyWing noble will drive away anyone worth making a friend of. Whereas his genuine desire for friendship drives away the cutthroat nobles that he so desires to fit in with. This conundrum has perpetually hung over Lightning's head like a storm cloud and some days his mind spirals so wildly trying to understand why his life is the way it is. Sometimes his mind teeters near the edge and he contemplates whether the world would be better off without him, other times he starts to think maybe he's not even a noble at all, maybe he's a bastard and that's why he can't fit in, maybe he's not a dragon at all.
Safe to say, Lightning doesn't enjoy being alone with his thoughts lest the temptation of suicide or his budding imposter syndrome grow ever greater. This usually means he's out antagonizing others, trying to play the perfect noble in order to distract himself, and to fulfill his self-given purpose to be a proper noble.

Weaknesses[]
- Low emotional resilience, if anyone who holds in high esteem looks at him wrong, he'll probably wait till everyone's gone then have a panic attack.
- Academically insecure, call him a nerd and he'll beat you up then cry about it.
- Obsessed with fitting in with nobles, can be used to manipulate him, though that's not to say he's gullible or stupid, he's just more pliable when it comes to his obsession.
- Loyalty, while it can be a virtue, it's more often than not a weakness for Lightning as it makes his friends viable paths to manipulate him.

PS that's also why I've been making posting a ton of OCs, I've had them in my noggin for a while but I'm finally putting them on the wiki lol, the whole story isn't decided yet though so their history beyond their origins are still unfinished :C. Thunder - negative[]
Thunder is Lightning's younger brother. Initially, Lightning didn't really care about him, but as Thunder proved to be a prodigy in nearly every field of noble study, excelling far past Lightning's level of skill despite his age, the older brother couldn't help but resent his sibling. However, he still tried to be friends. He thought there would be a solidarity of sorts between each other since they were family, but Thunder rebuffed him every time he tried to extend an olive branch. In fact, his younger brother barely even seemed to notice him at all. Lightning was then sent away, humiliated and a not a little shameful that he lost his noble title to a dragonet. Though since he's become a governor, he's completely forgotten about his brother, after all he has more demanding issues to attend to...
Crosswind - positive/negative[]
A guard of West Face village and his employee. They got off with a rocky start, both due to Lightning's own attitude and Crosswind's wisecracking tendencies. However, despite this initial dislike, Crosswind has proven to be a reliable guard and a loyal friend. Crosswind is a good listener, and Lightning found once they got through all the class barriers, they were actually pretty similar. This doesn't change the fact that Crosswind can really grate on Lightning's nerves with his glib attitude and his constant disrespect.
