Descriptions[]
Symphy is a relatively short (in length) CentiWing with a flexible build. She has pale grey scales that appear near see-through up close, though this is merely an optical illusion. They fade to a more opaque grey-brown the closer they get to her head. His horns protrude forward, curling slightly at the ends.
She wears lots of jewelry, including horn and ear piercings, bracelets, necklaces, and rings. These change quite frequently, often to fit seasonal themes or new trends. Most of her jewelry is self-made, and she takes any opportunity to flaunt this fact.
Symphylan, nicknamed Symphy was named after Symphylans, a class of Myriapods that she shares the coloring and appearance with.
Personality[]
Symphy is a very loud, flamboyant, and overall “out-there” dragon. She LOVES being in the spotlight, taking any opportunity to be the center of attention. At first glance, Sympy may come off as vain, but she gives as much attention as she receives. Symphy is very attentive and will listen to someone for HOURS at a time as long as they are interesting. He is a good listener and makes sure to put a lot of thought and effort into the criticism he gives. He has an eye for quality, and like the experienced Jeweler he is, can sometimes even tell the difference between fake and genuine gems just by looking at them.
That being said, Symphy cannot stand being bored. To him, boredom is worse than sadness. She will not tolerate dragons droning on about subjects, especially ones she does not like. Symphylan will simply leave or just refuse to listen. When it comes to particularly repetitive or dull subjects, Symphy runs short of any patience, making them rash and easy to anger.
Symphy is a “talon in every pie” type dragon and loves to get a little bit of everything. He will often pursue multiple new hobbies or projects at once, sometimes getting ahead of himself. Symphy is quite motivated, so they CAN get said projects done at the expense of their time and energy. He isn’t very religious in terms of Hrringa, but does partake in common ceremonies and will act courteously to those who are more engrained into their beliefs.
Symphy holds a great deal of sympathy for the SilkWings, even though the beliefs of the tribe. He sees them as a physically weaker tribe that was taken advantage of, the same way you would feel about a child that was deceived.
History[]
Dragonethood[]
Symphy was hatched to a wealthy family, who were great supporters of the Copper Catacombs Nest Cheif of their time. They ran a popular shop that sold both metal tools and handcrafted weapons and armor, as well as running the mine that they got their materials from. Symphy’s parents, Stonemason Sangria and Metalsmith Glare (business partners turned parents) were deeply ingrained in their business, spending half of their time with Symphy and half with their employees. Symphy grew up in a business setting, his parents clearly planning to hand down their business to him in the future.
He already had a basic understanding of how businesses worked by the time they were enrolled in Primary School at age 2. He would often make miniature budget plans with their Trinkets, strategically spending on only the things she REALLY wanted
Secondary School[]
By the time Symphy was done with primary school, it was imminent that they would be taking on a branch of their parents’ business. Metalsmith and Stonemason didn’t care what Symphy did exactly, as long as it was a booming success for the company. There was an era of tension between them during Symphy’s secondary education as they slowly migrated to full business training.
Nearing the end of her secondary schooling, Symphy was managing a small group of dragons in the Copper Mine. On her watch, the miners discovered a vein of precious stones in the mine. It wasn’t a huge amount, not enough to act as a stable source of income for a long time, but it was enough to spark something in her. Symphy began crafting jewelry and selling them under her parents’ business. She found an affinity for working with precious stones and materials, as well as the artistic components that went into it. He pitched the idea of running a chain of jewelry and more artistically designed armor and tools to his parents. Skeptical, they agreed, but only for the first year. If the endeavor turned out to be a failure, the project would be scrapped and Symphy would return to the normal busywork of the mining company.
Hiring some other dragons, both novice and experienced, Symphy co-operated a jewelry store named “Diamonds in the Rough” in one of the middle-class areas of Copper Catacombs. Working hard every night under the sharp discretion of her parents, Symphy pushed through her last few months of secondary school while running the business.
By the time she reached her 3rd molting, she knew her name would be Jeweler. The business turned out to be a success and Symphy continued her work.
Adulthood[]
After a few years of growing his business, Symphy ended up taking on many more endeavors other than jewelry (though this still was his main interest). He invested in all of the main industries of the Copper Catacombs, having experience with them all. He sponsored the communal banks and treasure vaults. He had a habit of buying out disused Copper Mines that had been emptied of their metals, renovating them into abstract jewelry stores. Symphy was exquisitely rich, filling the shoes her parents set out for her quite nicely.
At some point, the Nest Cheif of Copper Catacombs stepped down due to old age. Being the “talon in every pie” type dragon, Symphy saw this as just another business opportunity that was up for grabs. Being quite the public figure, adding quite the economic boost to Copper Catacombs over the years, she won by a landslide. At age 17 Symphy was elected as the Nest Cheif of Copper Catacombs.
Now[]
Symphy, having been the Nest Cheif for a few years has earned quite the “love-hate” reputation among other nests. While she is quite the leader and has kept the nest more than stable, her exuberant attitude and overall sheltered childhood make her annoying to dragons that lived a more standard life. She focuses on the economic state of her nest the most, giving large amounts of Treasure to charities looking to help dragons out of poverty. She has been Nest Cheif for 6 years and doesn’t plan on stepping down any time soon. Her jewelry business is still in operation and now exports goods to the other Nests.
