Basalt is one that will raise suspicion, rumors being that she had an affair with a HiveWing and her dragonet is a hybrid, though the only supporting evidence is the oddly angled stripes on her son's face and his thin, small 'wings'.
Basalt's body build contains a semi-fat but angled body sharp having longer, forward facing horns, a broad chest, short but flimsy whiskers, a shiny shell, and larger talons. Basalt has stormy-sea gray scales that fade into a raining-day light gray at the end of her tail. She has blood red spikes, horns, whiskers secondary colors, and down-arrow markings. Her head fades into a ant-red as if she dug her face into a river of blood. Basalt is always seen carrying a shiny object that's too bright to decipher what it is.
Basalt's personality is a mix of an solitude introvert and a rowdy, 'all-knowing' gossipy extrovert. She tends to love working in lonesome and doesn't really interact with other dragons unless she needs to or know them well. Though when time comes to shine, she'll always crack up a joke or two to lighten the mood. She also loves to spread gossip not pertaining to her and will sometimes pass information to the unwanted-to-know victim. She also knows how to gather a crowd whether it's in a positive or negative way.
It was slightly rumored that Basalt had an affair with a HiveWing during the end of Intermission and Queen Wasp's Charge war. She had oddly disappeared at the beginning of the final stand for until the middle of the war in which she was found returning with a dragonet who looks oddly like a hybrid but there isn't enough evidence.
Deep in her biology, Basalt was born a handful of years before the Tree Wars and was heavily trained under her mother to be a guard (inspector) or some sort of defense due to family tradition and belief in strength in both the heart and physical. She was also taught to be great in mind, both virtues and deception. Also in her childhood, she had a few close peers, one of which escaped a death punishment but died by a Jungle poison later one, the other being Creek. Eventually, Basalt grown to the age at the beginning of the war and was captured during the attack of the Ambassador when trying to defense other dragons from being injured. Instead of being executed immediately, Wasp for not a known reason kept her within the hives, possibly hoping she would pass her traits to the HiveWing race. This did work, but not in the way she wanted. Basaltstriker met a HiveWing, Whisper. Basaltstriker loved Whisper's admiration for CentiWing religion and his multiple books he "borrowed" from the CentiWings during alliance meet ups. Eventually Basaltstriker had Waspstriker, well as an egg. Peering from Whisperfly's mind, Wasp tried to take the egg back to the nest to insert her controlling poison and to grant the possibly first CentiWing under her true control but this failed, Whisperfly being temporarily snapped out of it by a rescue mention from 2 dragons she didn't get enough time to see but they not at all were CentiWings, or at least to Basalt's preference. Eventually Basalt returned to her tribe at the borders of Rugged Basin with her son, raising suspicion on her but was cleared when the dragonet hatched and she admitted to her liaison (before the current). She returned to her duties as an Inspector but suspicion is still around her.
Though lately, Basalt hasn't been appearing on time, even not appearing at all for report sessions or any other duties ever since the final selection. Many believe Basalt has left the tribe but there were reports of her being near. Her son though took this in a wrong way. Even when found, Basalt tends to not respond to questions often or responds in a scolding unmattered way. A few CentiWing witnesses believe it has something to do family-wise and hasn't reported so far.
This continued until the 9th night she's done this when Iridescent found her poking around Jewel Hive trying to gather Inspectors around to make sure Basalt and Wasp were doing their job. Iri questioned why Basalt was near the borders but received her answer from Whisperfly sitting next to Basalt.
Basalt revealed that she had been relaying information to Whisperfly. When Iri replied with what she has done, Basalt informed that Whisperfly wasn't able to be under Wasp's control nor he gave any information to his hive members and planned to leave the hive to work as a spy for the CentiWings. Iri still responded that she broke a law and that she wouldn't want Basalt to loose her job. After a while of encouragement, Basalt returned to normal duties in the tribe.
Later, a different flamesilk SilkWing appeared on the outskirts but was waved off by Basalt, leading to Iri wondering what Basalt was going to exactly do. The situation was kept under pressure and no dragon talked about it much.
Her son and her 'gold'. Basalt rarely sees Wasp as another dragon but instead as her trophy for surviving the HiveWings and their fires. Eventually she began to pass her misfortunes and virtues down. Lately, Basalt hasn't given Wasp a thought but after returning, Basalt appeared way happier and loving to Wasp than any part in his lifetime.
She enjoys Railworm's company and doesn't mind about his views of her, still she tries to keep her incident away from him as much as possible. Lately she's been missing out in reports though but got back on track. She still avoids relaying any information that could cause her a problem.
Her best and greatest friend she's ever had. Whether she likes it or not, Creek would do as much as she can to lift stress off of Basalt, even going as far as to reveal her incident to a few who will keep it behind closed doors to make Basalt feel like she's not alone. She worries her friend as of current and still does after her return.
"If I told the Archkhan Mapwright that I've been hitting it off with our great enemy I'd be drowned to death.." - To her best friend Creek
"Hahaha....Wait you're serious? You told them about Whisper!? Why!" - Response to Creek.
"Oh yeah? I didn't want to be abducted by our fire-bringers and thrown onto the plate of my entire surface just to return with you in my talons get up." - Basalt's response to Honeybear.
"It's your big molting day, see you around son...." - Last moments with Honeybear (Waspstriker).
"Wait, you're an Inspector here...with me....son...you didn't have to. - Response to Honeybear's job location.
"Remember, great in mind, full in strength." Basalt repeating her mother's word to Waspstriker
"Are you the chief? No." - Basalt responded to Creek's worry.
"You have seen me out-borders? What a shock, probably visiting some family members or something." - Basalt hissed to Wasp.
"I don't care what my son does, all I care about is whatever he's going for." - Basalt hissed to a citizen.
"Wait, haha, you thought I left because I didn't become a Laison? Are you serious, it wasn't because of that, it was because of my situation, I might move however..." - Basalt to Iri.
"Flamesilk!" - Basalt shouted in the borders of Rugged Ridge.
"Who's my little honeybear? You are!" - To Wasp
