Grand Princess Firefly is a female RainWing-NightWing hybrid who attends Jade Mountain Academy as a member of the Jade Winglet. She is the first daughter of Empress Glory and Emperor Deathbringer, and the first to hold the title of 'Grand Princess' in Pyrrhia. Grand Princess Firefly is also the first moonborn hybrid in centuries, and is known for her beauty and intelligence, as well as being the crown heir to the South Pyrrhian Empire.

Description[]

Grand Princess Firefly has beautiful, vivid deep violet and purple scales, that are described as shiny, galaxy-like, and like a late sunset in the rainforest. Her four legs fade into a golden color. She also has red and magenta scales around her eyes, neck and talons that highlight her bright, deep-set green eyes. She has silver tear-shaped markings that indicate mind reading, as well as a lean build that many modern NightWings have. Firefly also possesses long, wide wings that fade into yellow and are speckled with stars, as well as matching long feathery ruffs behind her ears. Firefly also has a long, prehensile serpentine tail, and a long, elegant snout just like her mother.

Firefly is deemed as worthy of holding the title of 'Grand Princess' solely because of her beautiful looks, with a pleasant expression. She wears jewelry from silver and platinum with gems made to resemble flowers from time to time for formal events.

Personality[]

Grand Princess Firefly is often described as nerdy, intelligent, regal, fierce, curious and smug. Firefly has been seen reading scrolls and books for much of her dragonethood and even today, and clever too. Firefly was taught patience and how to be calm in any situation, which wasn't like her as a young dragonet. Like her mother, Firefly is fair and speaks for herself, and was taught by her to not use her venom on those who cannot fight back. She also has a high level of confidence and carries herself in a somewhat smug way. Like many royals, she sees herself higher than others, especially because she is the first heir to the first dragon empire in Pyrrhia. Firefly also uses her status and her parents' status in heated arguments with others of royal status as well. Firefly can be described as reckless at times and is good at suppressing her emotions. The grand princess is independent and often quiet and does not rely on others in most situations.

Firefly also has great problem-solving skills and is good at motivating others, even if she isn't that motivated herself. Firefly also has good guidance and has an optimistically logical mindset. The young dragoness was named Firefly because she 'illuminated her parents' lives'. Firefly, knowing this, also goes out of her way to do whatever she can to dragons in need to get them in a better life situation. She takes mathematics, language arts, and science (Especially science) very seriously, as well as school in general. Firefly takes jokes a 'little too seriously' as well and is described to have a dry or faulty sense of humor. As a moonborn, Firefly also finds her abilities quite special, and does not see it as a gift despite what her parents or Moonwatcher say. As a moonborn hybrid, Firefly finds herself under a lot of stress and pressure, and often has nightmares. Because of this, Firefly is often tired.

Biography[]

Firefly appears at the end of Moon Rising in Moonwatcher's vision provided by Darkstalker. She is reading a scroll and curled up besides Surge and Amber while discussing how much the other tribes hated each other.

Queen Glory a few years after she became queen of both RainWings and NightWings, she officially married Deathbringer, making him known as King Deathbringer. Shortly after, she reached a deal with Queen Thorn and Queen Moorhen where she was able to purchase the entire southern quarter of Pyrrhia, and establishing multiple strong trade routes, making the Rainforest Queendom's status as 'Queendom' go to 'Empire', and her title was now Empress. The new Empire was met with outrage, however the other queens agreed to it, and after a few years of finalizing things, Glory and Deathbringer had Firefly's egg (Which was met by some more controversy, of course).

As a dragonet, Firefly knew she had an elevated status than most other princesses. Considering that her parents ruled the first dragon empire, the South Pyrrhian Empire (AKA the Southern Empire), she has been seen as very special. Her parents and everyone around her just reaffirmed this, allowing her smugness and pride to manifest into her personality. Firefly was taken to travel Pyrrhia, meet all sorts of celebrities, royalty and other important dragons, and was even taught the scavenger language to communicate with them.

Although when she wasn't doing all of these amazing, incredible things that nobody else would really get the opportunity to do, Firefly chose to spend her very valued time studying and reading. She attended top-tier schools in the Empire after a certain age, which was a science-oriented one, which Firefly enjoyed and appreciated. Firefly's childhood, excluding her celebrity status, was also full of the friends and playing outside that all other dragonets enjoyed.

She befriended a fellow hybrid, Peacemaker, who introduced her to his friend group with dragonets who were a few years older than her. Peacemaker taught her how to fish in rivers and wanted to teach her how to weave, although she already knew how to. Peacemaker also explored the southern part of the Claws of the Clouds mountains, and he only really talked about strawberries, which eventually annoyed her after some time. Despite this, she taught her friends cool science facts and how certain things such as how tornadoes happen.

Firefly also introduced Peacemaker and his friends to her friends, Prince Surge and Amber, dragonets of the former Dragonets of Destiny. She had known Surge and Amber their whole lives, but rarely saw them, especially since their lives were so different. Eventually, Empress Glory told her daughter two things, that she was going to have a little sister, and she is also going to Jade Mountain Academy.

Upon going to Jade Mountain Academy, she was very confident and ready, although wasn't sure about going to a school that was basically learning about the magic powers of rainbow and friendship. She was assigned to Jade Winglet, and so were her friends, Surge and Amber. However, she was sad to learn that Peacemaker wouldn't be going to Jade Mountain, despite knowing he was very strictly homeschooled.

Firefly quickly made more friends and got settled in, learning her way around the school and doing well in all of her classes. At this point, she especially began to struggle with her mind reading ability and looked to Moonwatcher to help. However, Moonwatcher told her that her powers were a gift, and gave some advice on how to manage it rather than training her when to and when not to use her powers.

Firefly also had her fair share of getting into scuffles and arguments with other dragons, especially if they were not of the same or similar status as her. Despite this, Firefly got little punishment, although her causing fights is not common and far from consistent. Firefly over the next year adjusted to the Jade Mountain lifestyle.

Firefly then went home for the summer and met her younger sister Grand Princess Starfruit, which she was happy to meet. She spent a few more years at Jade Mountain Academy before graduating.

Visions say that Firefly is going to make new scientific discoveries with her friends and co-workers up until Glory is becoming elderly. During this time, she will also marry Peacemaker, who isn't anything like Darkstalker (and would do a very poor job as emperor in the sense he wouldn't know what to do). Glory and Deathbringer, as well as everyone else who knows Peacemaker's secrets, disapproves of Firefly's choice but Firefly doesn't know why, and defends Peacemaker.

When Starfruit becomes a young adult, she will challenge Empress Glory for the throne and ultimately loose, even though Starfruit picks Firefly for one of the contests in the peaceful challenge. However, Starfruit also attempts to help organize and mold the military even though she barely has any true power to do so, which is supported by Firefly.

Firefly is going to become the next Empress of the RainWings and NightWings, and is going to make the NightWings equal to RainWings in the eyes of the law of the South Pyrrhian Empire, and restore the old Night Queendom to what it was before, allowing anyone to move there. Peacemaker is given some form of power, even though Peacemaker insists he doesn't have any, but Firefly always thinks he should have a say in some stuff. Grand Princess Starfruit becomes the empire's general, even though she doesn't see herself fit and would rather advise stuff from a distance.

Grand Princess Firefly, then Empress Firefly, will have a very long and peaceful reign exceeding 70 years into the 5,090s AS. Peacemaker unfortunately dies before her around a decade before she does, and she dies peacefully in her sleep as well, and her only daughter takes the throne.

Relationships[]

Firefly and Glory have a close relationship. Firefly trusts and looks up to Glory, and Glory also trusts Firefly and is protective of her in return. Even though the two typically got along, they occasionally clashed, especially regarding Firefly's smugness and view of herself compared to others, her main interest being reading and, in the future, her marriage with Peacemaker. Glory is also the more serious parent, often discouraging Deathbringer from joking around too much or not taking parenting seriously.

Even when Firefly becomes Empress, Firefly and Glory will still love each other and have a close mother-daughter relationship. Firefly is horrified about the royal challenges of other tribes and the idea of killing one's family member for a position of power.

Firefly and Deathbringer have a strong bond. Firefly and Deathbringer sometimes act like friends, and Deathbringer is the non-serious parent, often joking around or goofing off encouraging Firefly to prank others. Despite this, Deathbringer is very serious about making sure she is raised open-minded and is protected, being more protective over Firefly than Glory is.

Deathbringer will be little upset when Firefly challenges Glory for the throne and wins, but despite this, he will think she will be a great empress of both tribes.

Firefly and Starfruit are essentially best friends. Firefly, when Starfruit was in the egg, was excited to have a younger sister, which was a reason why Firefly was somewhat bummed out to go to Jade Mountain Academy. However, when she met Starfruit and Glory gave Starfruit more attention, Firefly somewhat resented Starfruit. Even though the two have a sisterly bond, they still argue, bicker, and have a slight rivalry between them.

When Starfruit challenges Glory for the throne, the rivalry between the two will become greater, even though Starfruit chooses Firefly to help her. Firefly will support Starfruit in her wishes and attempts to strengthen the military, and when Firefly challenges Glory and wins, she will promote Starfruit to become the Empire's general.
