Appearance[]
Skink Basking, or just 'Skink', is a 19-year-old, normal-looking DeathWing. Her scales are a dark grey colour, though they have a noticeable warm tint, appearing more as a dull brown in certain lighting. Overall, her colours seem to tend towards the warm side.
Her wings are grey, with a less-noticeable yellow tinge, and rather small and awkward-looking. She can still fly with them, though - it's more of a slight difference than anything else. She is somewhat strong, for a DeathWing, and her tail is quite powerful, for its appearance. Overall, Skink appears quite spiky, despite having the usual amount of spikes, which contrasts with her sleek name-sake. Her claws are large and curved, almost like a canid's, and occasionally painted in either black or gold, depending on how she feels.
Skink's 'mask' is a pale yellow colour, and appears slightly more rectangular compared to others', probably following the shape of her 'face'. Her horns are large and sharp, facing backwards like most. Her eyes are a fiery orange colour, and her underbelly is around the same shade of her wings, only noticeably more grey. Like all DeathWings, Skink's body is partially translucent,
She has pierced ears and wings, wearing golden stud piercings in both. Wing piercings sometimes make it more awkward for dragons to fly, depending on how clunky they are, but hers are small - and, anyway, she doesn't fly much.
Skink Basking did not hatch in what is considered DeathWing territory, but she did grow up there, and overall looks like a dragon who lived on the coast. (She does still live on the coast, just not in DeathWing territory.)
Personality[]
Skink Basking is, most noticeably, a religious dragon. All the religions, it seems - she holds a belief in many different deities, though in some cases she also believes that two or more deities are one and the same god in different forms. Though many think of her as distinctly hateful towards those she calls 'Blessed', she has previously declared that her position is more so one of neutrality, judging the gods as she would judge those 'Mortal'. And Skink is a very judgemental dragon. She wraps it up in satin scripts almost mimicking priests or prophets, but Skink will judge everything about you. Every little cue, every choice of word, she will take it in and store it in her memory. In her belief, this displays as a particular hatred towards some gods (what others assume extends to all gods), and simple judgement of others. Overall, though, Skink would describe herself as agnostic. She takes in the belief that others have, but she can't be certain. But the ones looking up to her need certainty, so she will provide.
Skink Basking makes powerful speeches, she gestures to the crowds and raises her voice for her audience to hear and understand, but, like any other dragon, Skink has her own personality that she displays to those closer to her. Noticeably, her more velvety tones are far from 'just her natural voice'. Her real voice is more rough, and she can be very affectionate. In another life, perhaps hatched at a later point, she could've been a cheerful yet harsh-toned barista, voice raised slightly too high, but in current Pyrrhia she has taken quite well to displaying a mask. Not to protect against anything, really. She just loves acting. (Not to say that her religious display is an act. In day-to-day life, she just treats it slightly more casually.)
