Curse and Abilities[]
Windchaser has the normal NightWing ability of breathing fire, but cannot blend into shadows very well because of the red scales on her back.
She was hatched under a total lunar eclipse of the full moon, but it was a somewhat cloudy night, so the light of the moon was partially obscured. Because of this, she has very blurry normal future sight, mostly just intuition and general feelings. However, her visions of the disasters that she will (directly or indirectly) cause are crystal-clear. She doesn’t see what will cause them, though, so she doesn’t really have a way to avoid them, as they seem to happen whether she tries to prevent them or not.
Chaser‘s egg was cursed so that she cannot live in one place for a long time without a disaster of some sort happening and destroying the place or driving her out. Usually, she does not directly cause these disasters, but she does on occasion.

- Because of an animus curse, any place that she lives in for too long ends up getting destroyed, but she survives; because of this, she always has to move between residences
- Adventurous

- Tries not to seem too tragic, often ending up in hiding her feelings
- Tries not to make close friends, since she knows she’ll lose them
- Has future sight, but only sees how her homes will be destroyed, and doesn’t know when it will be destroyed, or how the destruction starts, or even if it’s her current home in some instances
- The animus who cursed her had some grudge with her family, or was also an eclipse-born NightWing, or was jealous somehow
- Exists currently at the same time as the third arc of WoF; was born a year after the brightest night
- The curse may be meant to broken when Windchaser does a certain thing
- She named herself, because her parents died in a disaster before she could learn her name (or possibly even hatch); she named herself Windchaser because she constantly had to follow the wind to new places
- Is sometimes mistaken for a Sky/Night hybrid because of her red upperscales and her name
- Was hatched while the NightWings were fleeing the volcano
- Doesn’t tell many dragons about her curse, since it often resulted in her being abandoned
- Didn’t know about her curse at first, but realizes that it existed after a few of her residences being destroyed, and thinking back on her hatching among smoke and flames
- Is sometimes mistaken for a boy because of her gravelly voice
- Has a few scars from the disasters, but no major, disabling injuries; a part of her curse: she will always have reminders of her curse, but it will always leave her mostly unscathed, unlike her home and friends
- One part of her backstory involves her as a tiny dragonet, sitting in a destroyed town, and someone finding her and adopting her
- Her red scales mark her as a bad omen in NightWing culture
- Lunar eclipses are often seen as an omen of change in real life; include this in character somehow?
