Emu was made for Arangagangagang's Song Based OC contest. My song was 'Stressed Out' by Twenty-One Pilots.
Appearance[]
"I-No, I'm not handsome."
Emu has dark tan, almost peach-colored main scales that are flecked all over with dots and splashes of brown and gray. He has a lighter tan underbelly free of freckles, and a white sail arching across his snout, back, and tail. His horns are short, not very curved, and light gray in color. He has light gray claws as well, and Emu's eyes are a shadowy black. He is described as stocky, with broad shoulders and a muscular body, but his face is almost always in distress or unhappiness. His wing membranes are a pale sand color, and his body is slightly out-of-proportions, making his wings look smaller. His tail barb is light gray and white swirled together.
Personality[]
"For Queen Oasis!"
Emu was a huge supporter of Queen Oasis when she was alive, and he was fanatically loyal to her. He refused to accept a new SandWing queen that wasn't of Oasis's blood, not even of royal blood, and as such he became an outcast to most high-ranking SandWings. Emu is now faltering, as he worries this outcasting might have an impact on the lives of any dragonets he may have, as well as his own life. He is a very stressed and unsure dragon who just wants everything to go back to before Queen Oasis was killed, to when life was good for him, and he is desperate to get the means to do so. He also fears he may never see his best friend again due to the war, as the SandWings and MudWings are on different sides.
History[]

Emu hatched at around the halfway point in Queen Oasis's rule. He lived a peaceful life with his mother, never knowing his father, and he was taught to read, write, speak, hunt, and fly. It took him only a few years to figure it all out, so he could move on to his tail and protecting others since SandWings were not immune to their own weapon. Emu was still a fast learner, and around this time he found a MudWing who had wandered into the Sand Kingdom who he became friends with. It took many moon cycles before the two were true friends, but Emu and Puddle warmed up to each other eventually, chatting and talking the night away.
Emu was six when Queen Oasis was killed. The news hit him like a wrecking ball, and it took all he had to not curl up and die. He met with Puddle again that night, and fell onto his friend sobbing. Without a queen, what was the Kingdom to do? The three sisters knew exactly what; go to war over the throne. Emu didn't know who to support. Blaze was nice, but dumber than a box of boxes. Burn was cruel and would rule for long, but the SandWings, and him, were in trouble if she was queen. The whole continent was in trouble if Blister became queen. He decided to lean his support towards Burn, since she'd at least be strong and not mess up the world. Emu came to meet Puddle the next night, and after that, but he never came.
One night, Emu found a note from someone. It said, War called me to troop. Can't talk anymore. See you soon, or maybe not. -Puddle. He crushed the note in his talons and began to softly cry. His friend was gone, his queen was dead, and his mother and him might have to go to war. Emu began to wish there was some way to turn back time, back to when Oasis was queen. He still wishes for that to this day, as Puddle has not returned to talk since.

Sandspitter[]
Emu misses his mother's embrace and love, her kind, caring attitude switched out for a mean, fierce, and killer one. Yet more reasons he wants to go back in time. They don't talk anymore, since she's dangerous and unstable, and it frustrates Emu to no end.
Puddle (+)[]
Emu wants his friend back more than the world, and he constantly fears his friend died in the war. Emu badly wishes that Puddle will return someday, since he's losing all of the dragons he once held close.
