Appearance[]

Echo stood small, with thin legs that look like they can barley support her small weight. Her scales were sharp and perfectly lined, silver in color with hints of red and brown. Her back and tail were lined with wispy triangular markings, like stripes, that were also present under her eyes. Her wings were small and a deep black with scattered silver scales like stars or glistening diamonds. Her eyes were a darker blue-green, like a stormy sea.

Personality[]

Echo, when she was young, was socially awkward and quiet, but still smart and energetic. Her only friend was her foster brother, or unsib: Mackerel, but she greatly enjoyed his company. She also tried to remain optimistic about difficult situations, but has a hard time talking herself out of being upset. She developed a stutter that is more pronounced when she is nervous or excited.

After she was exiled from the MudWing tribe, she became depressed and paranoid. She began to hallucinate, and her hallucinations quickly drove her to a snapping point. She looked back more than she looked forwards. With every sound she would whip around, her claws ready. Every movement that caught her eye made her scales stand on end. She trusted no one and nothing. To her, everything brought doom.

In the end, she was noble and courageous, willing to risk everything, even herself, for the sake of her homeland.

Strengths and Weaknesses[]

Echo was a quick thinker- memorizing things easily, and is curious, creative, and smart. However, she was quite anxious and often hesitant. Her thoughts often wandered, and she was usually distracted by an odd leaf or a strange rock formation. She was quite insecure, a product of her upbringing, and was easily offended.

Likes and Dislikes[]

Echo enjoyed sitting by streams, listening to the rushing water and the soft chirping of birds. She also enjoyed visiting her sister, although she was in a different sib troop. Sometimes she would wander slightly beyond MudWing category, especially when warmer weather came. She also liked listening to stories that were told by the tribe elders. Her favorite prey was squirrels.

She disliked loud noises and bright lights- which may have been a product of her sensitive hearing, or her upbringing in the darker ends of the MudWing kingdom. She also disliked swimming, much unlike her sister, and being insulted, which is quite understandable.

Family[]

Echo's mother- Lilac- was a small brown dragonness with light blue eyes. She was sweet and gentle, but often very forgetful. She lived outside of the the MudWing kingdom, and loved her dragonets and her NightWing partner dearly.

Her father- Hail- was a large and powerful NightWing with dark blue scales and blue-green eyes. He was curious and optimistic, but often quite foolish. He lived with Lilac on the outskirts of the MudWing Kingdom.

She had two siblings, Poison and Webbed. Poison was a light brown dragonness with darker brown markings and lighter green eyes. She was a bright young dragon that was quickly promoted up the ranks of MudWing society. She was understanding and sincere, and although careful, she was easily manipulated, not that Echo ever too advantage of that. They had a good relationship, and often relied upon each other, although they only got to see each other for short intervals of time when they snuck away from their troops. Webbed was a dusky brown dragon with the same blue-green eyes as Echo. He was prideful and judgmental, but extremely intelligent. He was a strong and well respected soldier in the MudWing army, and didn't care for his biological siblings.

When Echowhisper was with her sibling troop, she was raised by Hazel, a ginger and brown MudWing with soft green eyes, and Crow, a darker brown dragon with fierce blue eyes. Hazel- her bigwings- was insightful and persuasive, but generally impatient. She died- or rather, she went missing- shortly after Echo joined her troop. Crow was sarcastic and quick-witted, but very loving of his family and Echo. He disappeared along side Hazel.

Her foster brother, Mackerel, was a striped brown dragon with blue eyes. When Echo was first brought into the MudWing kingdom, they quickly became close. Mackerel thought of her like a sister, and Echo though of him as a brother. They were good friends and would often tease each other, like many siblings do. The only strain on their friendship was Dusk, who was jealous of the attention Echo received, and wanted Echo for himself. Mackerel was cheerful and optimistic, as well as outgoing and gullible.

Briar was another one of her foster brothers, and was a large brown dragon with yellow-green eyes. He tried to be friends with Echo, but he also wanted to be friends with his brother, Dusk, although he didn't necessarily approve of his choices. Briar was nice to Echo, and talked to her whenever Dusk wasn't around, but eventually stopped, when his brother made him chose between kin, and friends. He was always a follower, and very loyal to his true family.

Another foster brother of hers was Thrush, a tan and brown striped dragon with green eyes. He hardly ever interacted with Echo, as he followed Dusk around, but he wasn't mean to her, and when Dusk bullied her, although doing nothing about it, he didn't participate and showed her quiet sympathy, so Echowhisper somewhat considered him to be a good dragon that made bad choices. He was quiet and insecure, but very loyal and trusting.

Dusk was a dark brown-grey dragon with yellow eyes, and yet another foster brother of Echo. When Echo first joined his troop as a young dragonet, Dusk thought that she had stolen his bigwings attention and was extremely jealous of her. He couldn't tell his siblings about this because he was afraid of his emotions and saw them as a weakness.

Dusk was Mackerel's best friend until Echo came along. Mackerel assured Dusk that they were still friends, nut Dusk wouldn't believe him. With his anger Dusk vowed to make Echo's life as miserable as possible. When she was hunting, he would scare her prey away. When she was practicing battle moves alone, he would pelt stones at her. When she was talking with Mackerel, he would sit and watch, his heart filled with hatred.

When Echo was exiled from the kingdom, Dusk didn't feel pleased. He wanted her gone, but not this way. He had seen her the nigh of the murder and knew she didn't do it (because he was spying on her) but didn't want to say anything because he was afraid of being punished.

It turned out that Dusk liked Echo all along, and hated her because she never showed feelings for him. He never admitted this, but knew it deep down in his heart. He was aggressive, scornful, and overconfident, although he was afraid of his feelings, seeing them as a weakness. He was also extremely passionate when he wanted something.

Education[]

Shrub was a brown spotted dragonness with yellow-green eyes. She trained Echo to hunt and fight. She was rather blunt, often coming across rude, and she was extremely courageous and logical.

Pike knocked Mackerel unconscious, and almost did the same to Echo, when Shrub saved her. She encountered Pike once more in her life, where he was about to kill her, but she was saved by her sister, Poison.

However, one day he stopped showing  up, and Echo found him dead, surrounded by the skulls of her bigwings- Hazel, and Crow, a short distance from her den, there was no scent to mark his killer. His death made her spiral into and even deeper pit of unstableness.

History[]

Echo was hatched to Lilac, a MudWing, and Hail, a NightWing, alongside Poison and Webbed outside of the MudWing kingdom. When she was a few weeks old, Hail went off to hunt, but didn't come back. After two nights of waiting, Lilac went to search for him, but she too, never returned. Led by Poison, the three dragonets went out to look for their missing parents, and wandered into MudWing territory. They were found by a patrol of MudWings that took the three hybrids to their village.

The three were separated, as the MudWing didn't know that they were siblings as they had minimal resemblance, and they didn't have the words to explain themselves, being at their age. Echo was given to Hazel's troop, Poison was given to Lily's troop, and Webbed was given to Muskrat's troop. Echo was understandably frightened by her new family, which included six strange dragons: Hazel, Crow, Mackerel, Dusk, Briar, and Thrush.
