Druid is the leader/creator of the Web of Apprehension, and a side character in this fanfiction. Please do not use her without permission!

Description

Druid has light grey scales and light purple amethyst spines. Her underbelly is purplish-periwinkle. A brighter periwinkle colors her wings, which have slight tears in them from her old age. Her horns/claws are a midnight blue, matching her eyes behind her clouds. Druid has a form of cataracts, giving her clouded vision. Long after she left the IceWing Kingdom, she got diamond-like tattoos on her head and wears an amulet with a symbol representing the Web of Apprehension, her intel organization.

Abilities

Despite her lack of clear sight, Druid has useful skills to make up for it. She still has a typical IceWing’s frost breath. And from her many years reading scrolls and learning about various subjects, she is very intelligent. From her intelligence, she has been able to develop a few useful inventions, such as a microscope and invisible ink. Her memory is also fairly solid considering her age.

History

Since Druid’s parents were lower class IceWings, Shardfox was ill when she laid her first egg. They were afraid she would never hatch, but she beat the odds. However, she was born with a slow-acting form of cataracts. As she grew up, she would slowly lose her eyesight. She had fair sight for 30 years. After she turned 9, her parents had another small clutch of eggs. Druid showed interest in learning new things at a young age. For example, when she first saw the Moon Globe Tree/The Gift of Light, she wanted to know how animus magic worked, and if it was possible for a non-animus to use magic. She began deep research on various subjects after her 12th hatching day, collecting scrolls and parts of the IceWing Gifts. The rest of the tribe discouraged her passions in fear of how far she would go. She would often sacrifice days without food or sleep whenever she found something interesting. In human terms, Druid became somewhat of a Shaman. After her 30th hatching day, her eyesight began to dwindle, and the Queen ordered her to cease her thirst for self-knowledge and put her tribe first. Luckily, she began to show interest in other tribes and their history. Instead of obeying the Queen, she decided to leave the kingdom. She copied valuable information for her family so they would remain stable for the rest of their lives. Druid realized her new calling was to gather information to not only fuel her interest in knowledge, but help unify the tribes in the truest form of power. She travelled across the continent and met other dragons who shared her interest in uniting Pyrrhia through knowledge. She eventually made alliances with at least one dragon from every single tribe, including the smaller ones. Using her connections, she formed a network of intel she named the Web of Apprehension. Druid eventually set her base of operations in the AviWing Kingdom, trying to hide her true identity to better tame the distrust other dragons may have for her tribe and goals. One of the few dragons who knew the most about her was an AviWing she met named Barbatus. He became her assistant for organizing intel from the informants. Druid’s ultimate agenda is to remain neutral with any tribal complications, and eventually build the best library in the world in what will become Jade Mountain Academy.
