Appearance[]
Due to her mother having bad health and her being raised by a NightWing, resulting in not enough time in the sun, Dreamcatcher couldn’t change colors. The most she can do is become a slightly lighter or darker shade of her current color. And honestly, she doesn’t mind much either, because the idea of a dragon who could have any colors and no set appearance just horrifies her. She hatched with mainly dark colors, a possible result from her egg being bathed under the moonlight.
Dreamcatcher’s body is magenta pink, with dark purple top scales and underbelly. Her wings are the same dark purple, with lighter purple-pink and dusty yellow colored cloud patterns at the end of her membranes, while her ruff fades from dark purple to lighter purple-pink. Her spines and horns are the same color as the purple-pink cloud patterns on her wings. Her talons and ears are dusty yellow, same as the cloud patterns on her wings.
Dreamcatcher’s eyes are a neon pinkish purple color that seems to turn into a slightly lighter purple-ish pink when excited or happy.
Personality[]
Dreamcatcher is a rather fun-loving dragonet who wants to blend in and stand out from the crowd at the same time. She’s rather dreamy, and when bored, she tends to drift off into her thoughts and is unresponsive to whatever is happening around her, causing her to be distracted easily. She’s quite the smart and bright dragonet, though it doesn’t show because she rarely ever listens in class.
Dreamcatcher fantasizes about finding love a lot. She sometimes wonders if other dragonets of her age also think about that, but never has the guts to ask. She also doesn’t have a lot of close friends, and the one friend she's had for a long time doesn’t even understand her too much, but she’s too scared to actually drive them away, even though she thinks she’d be better off without them.
Dreamcatcher isn’t the type that easily hates dragons, but when you get on her hate list, there’s almost no chance of making her forgive you for whatever you did.
History[]
Dreamcatcher's egg was found on the edge of the Rainforest by a NightWing, Silentwhisper. As a soon-to-be mother herself, Silentwhisper took pity on the lone egg and brought the sparkling magenta and purple egg to the volcano, where her tribe and her mate Flamehunter lived. Flamehunter was hesitant at first, but agreed to take the RainWing egg in and raise it alongside his own two eggs due to hatch soon.
Dream's adopted brother, Chrysoprase, hatched a day before her. Dream then hatched the next day, followed soon by her adopted sister Tinstone. As a little hatchling, Dream was very close to both of her adopted siblings are was rarely seen without one of them by her side.
As a dragonet, Dream was at first hated by the other NightWings. Some even tried to throw her out a few days after she hatched, but they grew to accept her into their tribe later. Despite being tentative of taking her in at first too, Flamehunter was very protective of his adopted daughter, and was willing to fight anyone who didn't want to take Dream in along with Silentwhisper.
Dream, at the age of one and a few months, had only started NightWing education when the NightWings started to capture RainWings to experiment on them. As she had grown up as a NightWing, Dream didn't feel that it was too wrong although she did feel a little uncomfortable watching it happen. At a time, a NightWing even suggested experimenting on her too, but due to the fact that Dream grew up next to the Volcano with the NightWings, her scales didn't absorb enough sunlight to camouflage and her venom can't kill.
Dream felt like she had found the place where she belonged when she was sent to the Rainforest Kingdom along with the other NightWings when she was almost two. She was sent to Jade Mountain Academy, but because the slots for the Winglets were filled quite quickly, only Chrysoprase managed to get in along with her while Tinstone got sent to another school.
Upon entering school, Chrysoprase almost immediately became one of the 'cool dragonets'. He started hanging out with his newfound friends more, and gradually started drifting away from Dream. Dream still tried to talk to him, but she almost always got brushed off or a short curt response. The only reason they still talked to each other at all was because they were in the same Winglet.
Though she felt like she'd lost her brother, Dream did find new friends. The MudWing in her Winglet, Edifice, was quite friendly, and she became friends with him a few months after they started school. She found out that Edifice had a crush on her sometime later, but since she didn't even know what that meant at that time, she continued being just friends with him. She also became Harp Seal, the IceWing of their Winglet's best friend. Despite being an IceWing, Harp Seal was quite friendly and loved cute animals, especially seals. Dream had a slight crush on Harp Seal for a while, but she knew it was impossible as Harp Seal was straight.
Things started falling apart when Dream was three. Edifice was pulled out of Jade Mountain Academy by his parents, and Harp Seal was moved to another Winglet. That was when a SkyWing RainWing Hybrid, Aracari, was transferred into Dream's Winglet. The two were just acquaintances for the first few months, but the two later found out that they had interests in the same school, and started hanging out more. Gradually, their relationship developed to friends.
