Darkstalker Doesn't Exist is an alternate universe where Darkstalker isn't a real dragon who hatched. It takes place during the times of the canon books, both Darkstalker Legends and the main three arcs but with differences that come from Darkstalker's lack of existence. The full name of this AU is Darkstalker Doesn't Exist Because I Hate Him and was created due to my hatred for Darkstalker.

Legends: Darkstalker[]

Arctic and Foeslayer met and fell in love the same as they did in the Ice Kingdom and decided to run away together to an island off the west coast of Pyrrhia. They had a single egg that hatched into their daughter Whiteout who was a thrice-born NightWing. She did not have animus magic but could read minds and see the future just as powerfully as Darkstalker could in the canon timeline. Whiteout still was unique but her parents both loved her and no one else would know of her existence for a long time.

After Arctic and Foeslayer disappeared, Queen Diamond and Queen Vigilance became furious. Both wanted Arctic for his animus magic but Queen Vigilance pretended that she was upset over the disappearance of her subjects instead, even though all of the NightWings sent on the trip returned except for Foeslayer. Queen Vigilance tricked Diamond into forming an alliance but as a result of the alliance, Diamond unknowingly agreed to make Queen Vigilance an animus dragon through a complex spell that Vigilance wrote. Diamond was unaware that she had made Vigilance an animus dragon.

Fathom was born an animus dragon just as he was in the original timeline. Similar to the original universe, the SeaWing Royal Massacre was executed by Prince Albatross. As the massacre came to an end, Albatross escaped into the sea before any dragon could kill him and his whereabouts following the massacre were unknown. Due to the deaths of all the female royal family members, including Fathom's sister Pearl, the SeaWing Royal Council decided to make Indigo the queen of the SeaWings due to her being the only dragon to survive who showed any bravery against Albatross during the massacre.

Back in the Night Kingdom, Clearsight hatched as she did before with powerful foresight which was unique to her. At school, her teacher and the NightWing seer Allknowing would single her out due to her fears of the NightWing dragonet taking her place as the queen's personal seer. Clearsight was very careful because of this and was very secretive over her power, not sharing any of the futures she was tracking and learning how to block out her mind from mind readers. Despite being careful, Allknowing reported Clearsight's power to Queen Vigilance and the queen had Clearsight become her personal seer by force and used her to make important decisions about Diamond, Arctic, and Foeslayer.

Less than a year after Indigo became queen, she sent Fathom, her boyfriend, on a trip to the Night Kingdom which was purposed by Vigilance. She claimed that she was making alliances due to Diamond suggesting that Vigilance might have taken Foeslayer and Arctic. Fathom was nervous to leave the protected SeaWing palace due to Albatross still being unaccounted for, but after using his magic to protect himself and the dragons he loved, he left for the Night Kingdom with a group of eight SeaWing guards.

As the queen's personal seer, Clearsight saw all of Vigilance's real plans, yet the queen was careful and kept a lot of things hidden, including her magic. She kept Clearsight captive and would walk about the NightWing on a silver chain to keep her in the queen's sight. When Clearsight heard that the queen sent invitations to other tribes to make alliances, she knew that something wasn't right. Although something was wrong with her foresight and she couldn't see futures that felt like they were coming, she could see that the proposal for alliances was a lie. The queen wanted something much worse.

far out on a hidden, protected island, Arctic and Foeslayer and a happy couple. Whiteout loves her parents and is growing up, experiencing a peaceful life. Arctic uses his magic sparingly but only does so to protect his family from dangers and to make sure that they will always be able to survive on their island. Despite her life being perfect, Whiteout wishes to go to the main continent, but her parents forbid it.

When Fathom arrives in the Night Kingdom, Clearsight is able to convince the queen to let her have some alone time with the SeaWing prince. Vigilance reluctantly agrees to it and lets her off her chain to spend time with the new visitor, not believing that Clearsight knows something is up. When the two are alone, Clearsight warns Fathom that the queen has something sinister planned for him and any other dragons who come. Fathom is worried, but he tells Clearsight that he used his magic to protect himself before he came to the Night Kingdom. As the night comes to an end, Clearsight is put back on her chain and she doesn't see Fathom for weeks as he spends time in the Night Kingdom.

While exploring and experiencing new things in the Night Kingdom, Fathom starts to have nightmares about a NightWing named Darkstalker. The Darkstalker torments him in his sleep, saying that he will find Fathom and kill him. Fathom doesn't understand these dreams and tries to use his magic to figure them out but his magic doesn't work. Fathom tests his magic several times to find that it doesn't work in the Night Kingdom. He suspects that something else casted a spell so that no other animus dragons can use their magic while in the kingdom.

Clearsight is forced to write out long scrolls with lists of important events that may happen involving Queen Diamond. Queen Vigilance is becoming more and more pleased every day and Clearsight fears that the queen is going to unleash something dangerous. One day when Clearsight is given a break off of her chain, she runs into Fathom in the Great Diamond. He asked her about the nightmares he'd been having repeatedly but Clearsight had never heard of the Darkstalker and doesn't know what they mean. In return, Clearsight asked Fathom if he had noticed anything off and he mentioned how his magic wasn't working and that it felt as if it was being blocked by another animus spell. Clearsight is shocked and goes through a list of all possible animus dragons who may exist but she doesn't believe that any would make a spell to block animus magic in the Night Kingdom.

In the Ice Kingdom, Queen Diamond was getting more and more agitated and paranoid about Vigilance. She broke IceWing Animus Law and used her magic to see what the NightWing queen was up to. She learned about Vigilance's magic that she took from Diamond but due to a spell Vigilance put on her kingdom, Diamond couldn't see what the NightWing queen was planning. Diamond immediately put a spell on her kingdom to protect it from any animus spells cast by non-IceWings. The IceWing queen had her military on high alert, lining the borders of the kingdom with soldiers on the Great Ice Cliff. She decided to completely disregard what she had been taught about using her magic, believing it was the only thing that could protect the IceWings from an animus Vigilance. Diamond used her magic to build protection around the whole kingdom through advanced military bases and barriers. She created special armor that would protect her soldiers from death and special weapons that would make them an unstoppable military. She established a new, special group of IceWings called the IceWing Stealth Team. She gave them special bracelets that could be used in different ways that would help them sneak into the Night Kingdom and spy on the NightWings from the inside.

Although distracted for months, Whiteout still couldn't forget about her want to go to the main continent. She understood that her parents her worried and didn't want to make them upset with her, but she felt like something important was going on and she needed to be there. She had visions, but they weren't clear-cut, like paintings. Whenever she had them, she would paint them on a canvas that her father made her. Whiteout's parents found the vision paintings disturbing. They told her that some of the paintings featured places that she had never seen but they knew such as the IceWing Palace and the Great Diamond. Arctic used his magic to see what was happening on the main continent and was startled to find the Ice Kingdom in a distressed state. He couldn't find anything on the Night Kingdom which disturbed him even more, not knowing how a spell could have been placed on the kingdom with no NightWing animi. More than ever, Whiteout's parents tried to convince her to not go to the continent, scared that she could get involved in a horrific battle.

Fathom's dreams were getting worse. The Darkstalker became more violent, attacking Fathom. The SeaWing felt like he could feel the NightWing's claws tearing into his scales but he would wake up right before the NightWing killed him. Fathom became paranoid, believing that the dreams must have something to do with his inability to cast spells. He tried to find a time when he can talk to Clearsight alone and used an animus-touched object he brought with him to find her one night while she was given a break. He snuck into the palace's courtyard and talked with Clearsight about what was going on. Clearsight became worried and wondered if it had something to do with her not being able to see some futures that she felt were there but were invisible to her. Clearsight believed that everything must be related to the queen.

As the night of Vigilance's purposed alliance meeting came closer, she appeared more and more thrilled to the dragons around her. The NightWings all believed that she was confident that the meeting would go well and thanked her for protecting them. The only other dragon who knew of the queen's true plan was Allknowing who worked out of the public view to prepare for the meeting. The SandWings and SeaWings would be attending. According to Vigilance's spies, the MudWing and the RainWings were leaning more on the side of the IceWings while the SkyWings wanted to remain neutral. Vigilance was fine with that, confident that they would join her soon when she showed them how powerful she was. Whether it was out of respect or fear, all of the tribes would be bowing to the NightWings.

Diamond's team of IceWing spies were successfully able to get into the Night Kingdom and scope out the tribe. It was clear to them that the regular NightWing citizens were oblivious to their queen's plan. One of these spies was able to get close enough to the palace to see Clearsight and Fathom one night. They observed how Vigilance acted rude to the young NightWing and kept her on a chain as she was let away, leaving the SeaWing alone in the courtyard. He looked distressed and the IceWing spy reported to the others about the presence of SeaWings in the Night Kingdom.

The night before Vigilance's meeting, members from the SandWing tribe arrived at the palace. Vigilance reluctantly had Clearsight taken off of her chain for the event but she was forced to remain near the queen during the arrival ceremony. The SandWings introduced themselves as Princess Sandstone and Prince Jackrabbit, the two dragonets of Queen Scorpion. They were accompanied by ten SandWing soldiers, Queen Scorpion showing Vigilance how little she trusted the NightWing. Clearsight studied Queen Vigilance carefully, observing the displeased look she made at the SandWings when they were too far away to see her face clearly. The party started soon after the SandWings arrived, leading on to a night of music and laughter.

Fathom and the SeaWings were invited to the party for the arriving SandWings. Fathom didn't really want to go to any party, too frightened by his past experience with parties and also the repeating nightmares, but he decided to go because it could be his only way of seeing Clearsight. The party was full of NightWings, making it hard for Fathom to see Clearsight, but she found him and took him off to a secluded area of the castle. Clearsight told Fathom about her worries of the queen's plan. Fathom expressed his distress and told Clearsight that he wished he had never come to the Night Kingdom. He felt like he could see the Darkstalker when he was awake now, like it would attack him in the middle of a crowd of NightWings. As the two talked, trying to figure out what to do, they were approached by a silent NightWing who spooked both of them. The NightWing stopped at the two of them and told them to meet outside in the palace's courtyard before walking away.

Clearsight watched as the mysterious NightWing walked away. She had never seen her before and didn't know if she should trust her or not. Her foresight was getting harder and harder to read. Clearsight felt as if certain timelines had been erased from her mind. She tried to see the NightWing in any of the futures she could see, but she wasn't there. Fathom was confused, not sure what to do, but as Clearsight started to walk toward the courtyard, the SeaWing followed. They walked calmly despite no other dragons being around, not wanting to appear frantic if any NightWing turned a corner around the halls. In the courtyard, they found two NightWings talking to each other. As Clearsight and Fathom flew down to the ground, the NightWings ended their conversation and turned to the young dragons.

One of the NightWings stepped forward and told the two dragons that they couldn't tell anyone about what they were about to tell them. Clearsight and Fathom both agreed and the NightWing from before came flying down from the palace. She was the largest and stood forward while the one from before told her that the dragons agreed to keep quiet. The female NightWing told Clearsight and Fathom that they were working against Vigilance, trying to stop her from doing something evil. When Clearsight asked what Vigilance plans to do, the NightWing told Clearsight that they couldn't figure out what her plan was but that Vigilance was very dangerous. Fathom asked how the NightWings knew and they told the SeaWing that they were spies. The NightWings then had Clearsight and Fathom come with them to a more secluded area and the two hesitantly followed.

Clearsight and Fathom were flown north until Clearsight could see North Beach. The female NightWing leader asked Clearsight if she could swim and Clearsight understood that they were leaving the kingdom. Clearsight, not able to swim, was reassured by the NightWing leader that it was only a short distance under the water to the outside of the kingdom. Clearsight was them grabbed by the leader and thrown down into the waves. She felt other dragons around her grab her and pull her through the water faster than she could have swam. She resurfaced shortly after, taking a deep breath.

Fathom didn't understand why a group of NightWings were helping them out of the kingdom, but he went along with it because Clearsight decided to. He also didn't mind leaving the kingdom as he felt more and more scared of the place as the days went on. When he dove down under the water, he was surprised to see a group of three more NightWings under the water waiting for the others. They were swimming in a way that Fathom never imagined a NightWing swimming before but he followed the NightWings as they swam away from the Night Kingdom. It wasn't long later when they went up to the surface. Fathom could see completely in the dark and saw Clearsight and the other NightWings easily in the darkness, but he could tell that Clearsight couldn't see very well. The NightWings spoke quietly to each other in the sky before moving north quickly. Clearsight took to the sky to fly with the other NightWings while Fathom swam with the NightWings in the sea. They were heading north.

Clearsight and Fathom were safely brought to the Ice Kingdom where Queen Diamond welcomed them into their visitor palace. She told them about Queen Vigilance's magic and plan to wipe out the IceWings, brainwash all animus dragons, and conquer the other tribes. Diamond told them that there's no other way to save the continent than to attack the Night Kingdom and try to kill the NightWing queen. Clearsight was shocked because she couldn't see anything about this but Diamond suggested that Vigilance put a spell on her to limit her foresight. Diamond took all of Vigilance's spells off of Clearsight and the NightWing could then see all of the horrible futures where Vigilance conquered all the continent. Clearsight could see that in several timelines, the only way to stop Vigilance is to attack the Night Kingdom, but she also saw futures of dragons solving it peacefully with the help of a dragon she had never seen. Diamond dismissed these futures, saying that the IceWings will invade the Night Kingdom the next day when all of the kingdom will be asleep while the IceWings are awake.

On their island, Arctic and Foeslayer were more worried about their daughter than before. She had been having violent nightmares that Whiteout claimed were her powers at work. She asked to go to the continent again and her parents finally allowed her to go, but they told her that they would go with her. They flew off at midnight for the Kingdom of Sand.

Vigilance was furious that her seer has disappeared during her party and orded NightWings soldiers to find her. None of Vigilance's spells on Clearsight to summon her were working and the queen is wondering if Clearsight somehow left the kingdom despite the forefield she made. Vigilance summoned Allknowing and told the prophet to gather her council for one last run through of the plan before dawn.

At day break, Clearsight and Fathom were worrying in the Ice Kingdom as they watched Diamond's troops join together at the Great Ice Cliff. The two were going with the IceWings and despite having her seer powers back, Clearsight didn't know what to do since she had no time to study every timeline before their departure. The army moved south toward the Night Kingdom after every IceWing soldier met up at the border.

Whiteout and her parets arrived at the coast of the Kingdom of Sand by early morning and stopped at an oasis. Although they were all very hot in the desert, they needed to take a break. Arctic and Foeslayer were unsure of where to go due to both of them being wanted in their kingdoms. Whiteout said that she wanted to go further into the Kingdom of Sand and her parents followed her and she flew off east.

As most all of the NightWings were sleeping, Vigilance was still awake, not able to sleep due to her excitement over her plan. She had her scouts working overtime around the northern and eastern borders of the kingdom. None of them could see the army of IceWings coming closer and closer every minute.

As the IceWings moved, Clearsight pondered the best outcomes but is interrupted by Fathom bumping her. Clearsight looked up to see a dragon in the distance that she remembered from some of the timelines she's seen. Clearsight asked Diamond to not have her soldiers attack the dragon and Diamond hesitantly agreed, letting Clearsight and Fathom fly ahead to talk to the dragon first. The dragon looked as if she expected the two and spoke in a way they didn't entirely understood. She told them that she doesn't want the two tribes to fight and that she could help.

From the west, two other dragons showed up, Whiteout's parents finally catching up with her. Arctic was shocked to see the IceWing army and his mother leading them. He goes up to her and Diamond was surprised by her son's appearance. She told him what was happening and Arctic defends his wife and daughter. Diamond was too occupied with the Night Kingdom invasion to care about that at the moment.
