LADY CREVASSE TALL-SPIRE OF POSSIBILITY
“I show you the stone in my hand, you miss the knife at your throat."

Crevasse is an adult SkyWing/IceWing hybrid. A dragon stuck in a infinite loop of never ending misery and pain doing what she can to break it in it's own confines, only be to be sucked further in. In one final desperation, she did something no one expected the polite, quiet, and minor annoyance Crevasse would do. She took everything into her claws and began something more violent in her seetheing anger. As long as she can play the part, she can easily get away with it all.

This page belongs to Helsing. Don't steal the character, the content of the page, the design or art, or anything of this matter. She is my favorite character I have so far :))

Appearance

A songbird to her homeland, a vulture to the desert.

Much of Crevasse's time in life has had her appearance compared to the various song birds of the woods and mountains. Something that was complimented and admired as an offset to her otherwise off appearance. A beak stark in the shadows of the black that envelops her body. Orange and white are the only other colors that shine through her scales. Accented by the use of blue jewels and fabrics to enchant her eyes.

Personality

It seems as Crevasse does nothing more than act these days.

Many detail her as being a polite, well meaning dragon that tends to be easily stepped over and always betting on losing horses. A irritation in bureaucracy and a constant monkey wrench thrown into plans. Her worst detractors refer to her as a ditzy, idealistic idiot who hasn't understood by now she cannot save everyone around her. In reality this is all a facade, an act, a projection.

A lie.

Truthfully, Crevasse is more scheming than what one would expect. She's tactful and and quick on her toes. While she does carry genuine belief in everything she says, what she's doing to fix it is a distraction to keep anyone off her tail. She's grown weary of the process and the time and life loss to get anything done. A radical in her own right that slowly accepted personally sacrifice for the greater good of everyone else. She's grown more than weary of misery as it followed her for her entire life, now she's tamed it and keeping it on a leash for her own desire. A pressure is building deep inside of her that is running against everything she knows and values.

She prides herself on her moral makeup. She refuses to cause more death and destruction than what her opponents already cause, but she's willing to sacrifice everything she's ever known and loved in turn to continue her moral quest. She cares deeply for the well being of others that she has the power to help, and they ultimately outweigh her family much to her own behest when forced to choose. Selfless to no end but not free from making selfish choices. Choosing her friends and affairs is one of the few choices she made herself with her own fruition. An amical individual who garnered many allies that share some degree of her beliefs.

Trying to remain poise in an never ending struggle to no lash out and tear someone's throat out. Always gripping on her own self control instead of doing the very same action she should've done at the very beginning. Detests corruption, neglect, and self interests over duty with vitriol and venom.

Learned everything from her dead martyr father and doing everything she can to live up to his memory.

Biography

It didn't take much to wake a hatchling up.

It war raining hellfire outside the stone walls and Crevasse was trapped in her blankets. The fighting started a small eternity ago and the hatchling who was finally sleeping in her own room couldn't escape her bed to run to shelter. She was crying, she was scared, and this wouldn't be the last time this will happen in her life.

“Crevasse? CREVASSE!?" A voice shouted from the hallway, “Oh my sweet dear there you are!"

It was father, and he swept the hatchling into his arms - blankets and all - as he rushed down stairs to the rooms built into the mountain itself. Panic had edged his breathe and his brow. In all the fire and smoke, his cold, bright, glassy scales were her comfort; edging further into his grasp. His steps slowed upon nearing the trap door for the cellar, her second bedroom for the span of the past several weeks. He jumped down into it to meet the house staff and her mother silently waiting for the battle to fly past. The MudWings were a nasty enemy, they how to burn them.....or that's what mother says. And hearing the burning logs being dropped only fuel Crevasse's naive belief in those words.

Crevasse must've been crying because father held her closer and whispered comfort into her ear.

“It's already dear, just go back to sleep and it'll be over by the time you wake up."

“No I don't want to go back to bed!" She whined, “I'm going to stay up!"

“Of course my dear." Father chuckled, at least she could lighten his spirits.

It felt forever, the grounds kept shaking with that cactus she was told to never have fire around. The adults began to play some sort of card game, the older kids played some volley game? She didn't know she wasn't allowed to play with them. It was so boring in fact she didn't even realize she fell back asleep until she was jostled awake by her father. It was silent outside the beating of feet on the floor and the creaking of the stairs leading back into the kitchen.

First light of the sun waved her hello as she blinked her eyes and refocused upon everything. Many wall were knocked down this time, they were getting more accurate, more closer to home. But the tides of war didn't matter for Crevasse, she only looked to see her sullen father's face and couldn't help feeling a twang of guilt and the need to comfort him.

“Father?"

"Yes dear?"

“Why are you so sad? No one else is...Mother hasn't said anything..." She slowly whimpered out as other dragons came and began kicking the bricks away.

“It's...difficult to explain dear one." He began walking towards a crumpled wall and stepped outside of it facing the rising sun.

“But you are a clever girl so I can't hide anything from you." He'd sighed and released her to sit in the charred grass.

“This was never meant to happen, I wasn't meant to be here and now. You shouldn't be here either, and I am sorry that you have to witness all of this-" he'd stiffened and raised his chin. He was trying to stop tears and it took years later to realize this fact.

“This isn't one of those fights from the stories you were told, like The Falcon and the Vulture-?"

"The Falcon and the Hawk." Crevasse piped up instantly to correct him.

“My apologies," He smirked, “This isn't that story. This isn't about fending off the helpless queendom from a storm of ghosts who didn't receive burial rights."

“Then....what is this about?"

“Selfish dragons looking for anything that will make them gain something over everyone's heads."

Misery is Vase's closet friend.

By the time the SandWing war reared its head in the Sky Queendom, Crevasse was 4 months old and still had both of her parents. Goose Icebreaker and his wife Turkey Sheer-Cliff. Their union dated before the war, their houses had combined to use both respective territories in the brown sea for fishing and trade. No one quite knew how Crevasse came to be due to her aloof mother and social climbing father. But regardless she was hatched and instantly became adored by her father. SkyWing parents were known to be distant and harsh, while IceWings were constantly hovering and watching their children. The two different dynamics will end up shaping Crevasse's life more than what she ever could understand.

But regardless she was a child born into a war.

Crevasse spent many hours of her early life in the catacombs and cellars of her home. Becoming intimately familiar with their turns and dust. Ever as her home was constantly rebuilt, she founds solace in the heirlooms of her dead ancestors as her playground.

  • she was a few months old when the woss started and this is like 30 years after so she would be in her 30s dy so 40s hy
  • her parents were an arranged marriage brought about for trade reasons between IceWings and SkyWings, mainly for fish. two wealthy dragons were wed and because of SkyWing culture they weren't together often so it was weird that Crevasse actually exsisted. Her skywing mother made she she was alive, but her IceWing father made sure she thrived and doted on her every chance he had.
  • he instilled many of her current values about government and politics into her due to the situation he was stuck in. he couldn't go home with the war, and he cannot be safe in the skywings hands. they used him as a guide on icewing tactics before scarlet grew bored of him and threw him into the arena to be executed publicly as a "spy in their very mints". Crevasse was three, she couldn't get the image of him burning via the then queens champion of her mind for the rest of her life.
  • she was stuck with her mother, and her mother chose everything for her until she turned 7. as a hybrid she wasn't considered for the military like her mother would when she vanished for months, but she was viable for alliances in means of collecting gold. soon enough she was found to be betrothed to a dragon the same age as her, and she hated it and hated her mother for it, but she was only 6, she couldn't take control, nor could she take advantage of skywing marriage traditions to separate from him as an adult.
    • It's a mix between being a hybrid had having a buissness agreement marriage. Since both houses agreed upon this marriage as an exchange of goods between the two base couldn't get out.
  • she was stuck. and she was miserable. passing hands to a new house to stay with for the years to come. The rest of the war was quiet, her husband away from the front to service scarlet. She never went out anymore, just like her father, wishing that she was thrown to the new firescales champion to burn for a show just like him.
  • things only seemed hopeful following after the war when, weirdly, ruby took notice of crevasse and offered her a place at court personally. She lept at it, something that can free herself from the Tall-Spires

Relationships
| Peregrine - Negative- Husband

Dear Peregrine Tall-Spire. The dragon she was bound to as she couldn't and hasn't been able to take in SkyWing practices to leave him. Between a marriage of advantages and her status as not being fully SkyWing despite being raised in the Queendom, she couldn't rid of him. They've been together as soon as they were old enough and never ever grown closer in the years since. Becoming more resentful housemates than a wedded couple with a child between them. Regardless they still continue to share a space and they don't occupy it happily.

  • A crevasse is a a deep open crack, especially one in a glacier.
  • The use around the color blue vs orange is used to show her freedom and rebellion. Forced to wear everyone else wanted her to wear despite her own. She adores amber gems especially with specimens inside of them as she tries to figure out how they got there as a child.
  • This character is specifically supposed to be a middle aged dragon, a challenge to make typically make me (and others) to get out of their comfort zones by drawing an aged dragon.
