Appearance
Cocao's main scale color and pattern scale color is inherited from her mother, Sundew, but her wings, frill and eyes come from her other mother, Willow. She has green scales with gold pattern scales, and her underbelly is the exact color of summer leaves. Her horns are brown and her eyes are a shade of deep chocolate. Her frill is pale green, the color of mint, as are her wings and the leaf at the end of her tail. She is a bit large for her age, with a plump belly and curves from her frequent kitchen raids for snacks. She always either has a look of wonder like whatever she's staring at is totally new to her, or an expression of mischief like she's about to get into big trouble, except for when she's outraged, and then her face contorts into an expression of rage that makes Willow fall over laughing every time she sees it.
Personality
Cocao is a naturally curious dragonet who can't stay still for longer than five seconds. Like Cricket, she likes knowing the answers to absolutely everything, but unlike Cricket, she doesn't like reading or asking questions to find out answers, but rather jumping headlong into adventures that usually end up with her needing to be rescued by some dragon or another. She can never stay angry at anyone for very long, and befriends everyone she meets. Literally, everyone. It's become an annoyance to Sundew to have to catch extra dinner for the hordes of friends Cocao brings over every day.
History
Cocao hatched in 5022 AS. She went on her first adventure when she was a few months old, and almost immediately got herself stuck in a pitcher plant. She met Sycamore, Fir, Beech and Oak when she was one year old and started school. She brought Kitty home when she was three and he was just a few weeks old. She is currently looking forward to a contest to bake the best cake, and is confident that she will win.
Relationships
Sundew
Sundew is one of Cocao's mothers, and the two of them get along pretty well. Occasionally Sundew will yell at Cocao, but she always apologizes afterwards. Other than that, they have a good relationship. Cocao inherited some of Sundew's leafspeak, so the two of them enjoy practicing together, and they have an ongoing contest for who can grow the prettiest flowers. When Sundew named Cocao, she spelled her name wrong, but when she tried to get it straight in the records, Cocao had refused, saying that she 'liked to be special'. Willow thought it was adorable, so her name stayed Cocao.
Willow
Cocoa and Willow get along very well. Willow does get worn out by all of Cocao's adventures, but she also knows that trying to stop Cocao from exploring will result in her going on more dangerous adventures as an act of rebellion, so Willow mostly stays out of it, except when she gets wind of a particularly dangerous quest, then she intervenes. Willow also taught Cocao to cook, or at least tried to, as most of Cocao's 'dishes' end up in explosions or being burned. Despite this, Willow and Cocao still enjoy cooking together, and do it every week, although Cocao's job is mostly just cutting and washing vegetables.
Kitty
Kitty is a panther cub Cocao found when exploring. He is one of the many pets that Cocao has attempted to bring home over the years, but he is the only one that Sundew and Willow have allowed to stay. Cocao found him trapped in a Roridula and freed him. She looked for his parents but couldn't find them, and since he was being so friendly to her, she took him home and gave him the uninspired name Kitty. Cocao and Kitty enjoy playing fetch, except usually Kitty just runs after the ball and bats it around for a while until Cocao can wrestle it away from him.
Sycamore
Sycamore is one of Cocao's best friends. The two of them love going on adventures together. Sycamore is uncannily lucky, which come in handy when Cocao gets stuck somewhere and Sycamore has to go get help. Sycamore and Kitty don't exactly get along, but Cocao is more than prepared to look over this to stay friends with her.
Fir
Fir is one of Cocao's quieter friends. She prefers to read instead of do anything, especially go on reckless quests. It is a nod to Cocao's friend-making skills that she managed to help break Fir out of her shell and help her make friends. When Fir goes over to Cocao's house she mostly just spends the time petting Kitty and listening to Cocao chatter on and on.
Beech
Beech is one of Cocao's adventure partners, and she spends even more time getting stuck than Cocao herself. She's not the sharpest claw on the dragon, and she likes smelling pretty flowers and oohing at bright colors and touching things she really shouldn't be touching. Cocao doesn't really mind having to rescue her friend though, because it gives her an excuse to show off her leafspeak and go on a little quest.
Oak
Oak and Cocao have an on-and-off friendship. When the two of them are friends, they're always sniping at each other and making increasingly offensive remarks until one of them, usually Cocao, declares that they are no longer friends, and starts planning to get 'revenge' on the other. However, due to Cocao's personality, she'll usually forget all about getting back at Oak and become friends with him again, and then the cycle restarts. When Oak and Cocao are friends, they like going on adventures together and trying to find new pets, which is why Oak's house is full of frogs, leopards, monkeys and other various pet animals.
Tuatara
Cocao met Tuatara when she was on one of her flower-gathering missions, and the two of them have been friends ever since. At first, Cocao just saw a dragon that liked being by herself and picking flowers, but when Tuatara helped her get Kitty free from a trap, Cocoa saw that she was also kind and helpful. The two of them enjoy going deep into the jungle to find rare flowers, and Tuatara helps Cocao grow her own flowers, and she knows that if she didn't, they would've wilted long ago.
Salamandar
Cocao and Salamandar became friends when Salamandar helped Cocao get out of a maze of dragontraps, a fact that Cocao will never admit. After they got out of the maze, they talked for a while and noticed that both of their names were misspelled, something that Cocao found hilarious. Cocao told Salamandar that they should be 'misspelled name buddies', and then dragged zir back to her house to bake him a cake as a sign of their new friendship before even waiting for zir to answer. Her cake made Salamandar sick, but Cocao will still insist to this day that Salamandar must have been allergic to something in the cake. They are still friends, and often spend time exploring the village and asking random dragons to be friends with them.
