Canon Tribes
Tribal Headcanons:
- SandWings & IceWings have black scleras (to protect their eyes from the sun bouncing off the ice and sand)
- MudWings have hooked & very strong horns. Very hard to break a MudWing's horn unless they're a baby
- All dragons have last names that are related to their tribe (ex: Windiére [windy air] as a SkyWing last name, Dryclaw as a SandWing last name)
- All royalty (except DeathWings) have the last name of "from the [tribe]", like Queen Coral from the Sea, Queen Glory from the Rain, etc
- Since there is no official NightWing as a queen, Glory is still referred to as "Glory from the Rain," since she is a RainWing and not a NightWing
- Since the grouping of all RainWing eggs, they don't have last names. Under Glory's new rule, RainWings are starting to make up family names to determine who is related to who
- IceWings have jagged brows and sharp chins; a very sharp and pointy tribe
- SeaWings have very elaborate markings, and each one is not the same (except the faces are pretty similar). Aquatic, in my headcanons, is more about body language, clicking, chirping/cooing, and face stripe flashes, much like how dolphins and whales communicate
- SeaWing photophores still light up, but it's more to illuminate their surroundings, scare off sharks, warn others, or inform other SeaWings of their presence
- RainWings and DeathWings chirp, purr, and trill like cats when curious, content, and excited (respectively)
- SeaWing, AviWing, and SandWing females have larger sails/crests/fins on their head and neck than males
- As a SeaWing ages, their chin danglies/whiskers will get longer and oftentimes, they'll grow more than 2
- RainWings' fangs stick out from their mouth. Older RainWings have longer fangs than the young'ins
- MudWings, DriftWings, RainWings, and DeathWings are the tribes with the most farming and horiculture
- All dragons are technically omnivores, but some eat more meat or plants (or insects) than others
- Cactus juice is like cheap whiskey but with some hallucinogenic properties (if consumed too much at once)
- A lot of SandWing towns are like the old dusty Western towns in movies. And SandWings love a good saloon
