WARNING! BLOOD AND GORE![]

Deathwatch goes by he/him pronouns and is a male. Please refer to him as such. Deathwatch is also a Centi-Hive hybrid, and is bisexual.

Though I refer to Blacksmith Deathwatch as Deathwatch in this article, his common name is Blacksmith (co-workers and family members call him Deathwatch).

"People do what people do. Usually horrible things. But maybe I'm just stereotyping them."

Appearance[]

Deathwatch mostly takes on the body of a CentiWing, having their short, lion-like snout, long whiskers, and two large fangs sticking out at the front of his mouth (though his seem to stick out outwards, rather that upwards). He has the same spiky jawline and extremely narrowed eyes, often looking like they are completely closed. His horns form a ram-like shape, though it turns sharply and seems rather jagged. A few small changes, however, is that he has two large, straight snout-horns, one on the top of his snout, and the other on the bottom, with poisonous tips. His teeth are also poison-tipped, though none of these are lethal (see: abilities). Deathwatch's face seems to be weary, making him seem older. His neck is very beefy, with well-defined muscles. His body is also well-muscled, and Deathwatch is large in stature, towering over dragons that are older than him. His legs are very strong, and he can hit very hard. A lot of the mass in his legs seem to be muscle. This is because he swings hammers with his front legs (or arms) and stands on his hind legs, allowing for exercise. His claws are averagely sized, and poison-tipped. Rather than having the usual nubs for wings, Deathwatch has wings similar to a bee's, which are translucent, with hexagonical patterns. However, they are extremely thin and small, and he cannot fly with them. His tail is averagely sized (for a dragon as big as him), and has long, straight pincers at the end, able to inject non-lethal poison. He has centipede-like armor, with hexagonical patterns imprinted on them in a faint gold color. On his underside, his skin occasionally morphs into patches of shark-like scales (but larger). These also have hexagonical patterns, though they are more distinct (being a brighter, more glittery gold). The patterns on his scales look like they've been scrubbed away for a while, being faint or flaky in some spots. He is mostly colored a very dark grey (or black, if you will), with some faint maroon and grey accents on his topside. His horns, claws, and pincers are a pale yellow-tan color, and are reflective in the sun, shining like they've been polished with resin. Overall, he a large black Centi-Hive hybrid with a few gold and maroon accents. He usually wears a well-reinforced iron and steel set of armor, with many dents and scratches from years of use. It covers his forehead, neck, back, parts of his tail, and legs. He often wields a large battlehammer, usually strapped on his back, with an insignia that reads Battlehammer of the Sigil.

Abilities[]

Deathwatch has poison in his teeth, claws, and pincers. When it is injected into the blood, victims will have discomfort, muscle inflammation, and occasionally numbness in the affected area. When injected in extremely (and I mean EXTREMELY) large doses, it causes major discomfort, large amounts of muscle inflammation throughout the body, apnea (in sleep), and numbness throughout the body. His armor can deflect many attacks. He can also use his battlehammer in a pinch.

Lifestyle[]

Deathwatch lives in the Old Stronghold nest, and makes armor and occasionally weaponry for a living. Having been doing this for a long time, Deathwatch is very skilled at it, and his shop is well-renowned. He has a moderate lifestyle.

Personality[]

Positive[]

Deathwatch is a loyal and supportive dragon, willing to lend those close to him a hand. While he does not support directly (and is not fond of being sappy) he is more of a dragon to lean on. He is also very honest, and it's extremely difficult to lie to him. He is also accepting of differences, often being outlawed in his own community, and can be very welcoming to those who need it. He isn't afraid to stand up for anyone, either. And once you get past his first layer, he's a big ol' bear.

Neutral[]

Deathwatch will always, always, say things for what they really are, even when it is upsetting. He doesn't see the point in letting someone down slowly, and absolutely hates sugarcoating anything. He is a firm believer in what he thinks is right, and is very stubborn. While he is stalwart, he is often very quiet, working in silence, and only speaks when necessary.

Negative[]

Deathwatch can be very cold to strangers, and often drives them away with pointed insults and glares. He hates higher-ups, as he believes that they are snotty and spoiled, and, as said before, he will not think otherwise. He can lose his temper sometimes, lapsing into a disastrous rage of shouting and throwing things, but he is working extremely hard to control this, and they are very rare. He is also very insecure about his heritage, as the other dragonets teased him about it when he was young.

Little Things (Basically fun facts)[]

Deathwatch walks with a quick and steady gait, and holds his head in line with his neck when walking.

Deathwatch speaks with a Russian accent.

Deathwatch has a more neutral-positive relationship with HiveWings in general.

Deathwatch sometimes slaps his tail to a random beat, usually when anxious, though this seldom happens.

Deathwatch would be able to play a piano.

Deathwatch secretly hates dragons from Pyrrhia, as he is jealous about their ability to fly, and dislikes them for the destruction they bring.

Deathwatch is covered head to toe in large scars, making him seem intimidating and fierce.

History[]

Alright. Here we go.

Pre-Egg[]

Sunset was a beautiful HiveWing, with striking orange and yellow scales, on her way back to Pantala from a trip to Pyrrhia, when she got lost. Sunset wandered near the Highlands, and was lucky enough not to get spotted by anyone but one dragon.

Soldier Armipotent, a brown CentiWing with grey and dirt-brown smudges.

Armipotent immediately fell for Sunset, both for her looks and kindness. Armipotent, while not being the prettiest, was strong and courageous, and Sunset admired him for that. So, they started meeting in secret. At first, it was snatches of time at sunrise or sunset. Then, it started evolving into something more. Sunset realized that she, too, had fallen for Armipotent.

They discussed moving in with each other, but there was one problem. That being: CentiWings hated HiveWings, by nature. Sunset could understand this, but they both realized that it would take much effort for Sunset to be accepted by the community. Eventually, though, they decided that they would be together, no matter the odds.

When they arrived at Armipotent's home in Balding Basin, there was an uproar. Armipotent's family instantly turned him away, and the two were forced to move to the Old Stronghold, in hopes for acceptance.

They ended up getting half of their wish. The dragons there grumbled quite often, but they were widely allowing to join. And, after a while, they slowly let Sunset in, too.

One day, Sunset discovered that she was having eggs. The couple were truly overjoyed, and happily shared this with the neighbors.

Someone was listening. One of the few that hadn't let them in.

"They're having eggs, Crafter. We have to get rid of them somehow. They're poisoning this place."

"I know, I know. Let me gather the others."

And yet, they would not strike until later. But the family should have been ready.

Egg[]

Life went on for the couple. They tended to their eggs daily, and their relationship never wavered. They went about business, getting new jobs. Sunset worked as an exotic beauty designer, and Armipotent got a new soldier job.

Baby Dragonet[]

Deathwatch hatched as the oldest of four, his other siblings being Quick (second oldest), Millipede (Second youngest), and Hover (youngest). Deathwatch was always the more commanding one, leading his siblings through their little roleplays and play-wars. He did his best to watch over them, and made sure none of them got hurt. When any of the other dragonets came to tease them, he scared them off with his large size and scowling demeanor. Overall, he had a pretty good time.

Dragonet[]

When Deathwatch and his siblings were signed up for school, it was a nightmare. During library time, the other dragons relentlessly scorned and bullied the four. And while they all got lots of rewards, that didn't stop the bullies from coming after them. If anything, it made them bigger targets, as they were called "nerds" and "earwaxers". Eventually, the librarians were informed, and they stopped the bullies, but Deathwatch was now scarred. From this day onwards, he decided to trust nobody. And that's what he did.

One day, when he and his siblings were coming home, Deathwatch saw a flicker in the shadows. He thought nothing of it, until dragons erupted from them.

They were surrounded on all sides. But out of desperation and instinct to protect his siblings, he jumped at the nearest dragon.

Deathwatch clawed off his face, gouged out his eyes, and tore up his ears. Blood spattered all over him. The dragon shrieked in pain, and the other shadows backed off and ran, including the disfigured one. They could hear his screams for miles, as they echoed off the walls.

Deathwatch, shaking with fear, turned to his wide-eyed siblings. And the four of them ran back home.

He spent the rest of his dragonet days constantly looking over his shoulder, and jumped at small sounds. He honed his battle instincts and moves to perfection, in case they every threatened his siblings or him ever again.

Teen[]

Deathwatch decided to work in blacksmithing, and found a non-judgemental and jovial fellow to train him. His name was Blacksmith Sprint, and he taught Deathwatch not only the ways of crafting, but also kindness, and always expected him to welcome good dragon with open arms.

This was a more happy time, and Deathwatch enjoyed it greatly. It was simple, too.

Adult/Present[]

Deathwatch finally had his third mold. His parents, siblings, a few relatives, and the scant friends that he had gained over the years attended. He immediately chose the gift from Sprint, and became Blacksmith Deathwatch.

One day, though, something terrible happened. Deathwatch was watching a nice sunset (not the dragon, the phenomenon), and he saw the same flicker in the shadows that he had seen years before. Deathwatch instantly moved into a defensive position, and many dragons leaped out at him once again. But this time, he was ready.

Deathwatch slammed aside the first dragon, sending him toppling down the cliff that Death was sitting on a moment ago. Then, he raked the face of another, throwing him to the side. He stabbed another with his pincers, and flew under the last one, gripping his tail and tearing it from the dragon. He then whipped around, hitting another in the face with the tail, and hacked his way through the small group of dragons until they were all dead.

The floor, and Deathwatch, was covered in blood. He could hear nothing but bird calls and the wind. He heard a shuffle, and turned to see the dragon that he had previously hit with the tail beginning to sit up.

Deathwatch tore his heart out.

At last, he retreated back to his house, and collapsed on the bed, falling asleep. He was still covered in wounds and blood, but the adrenaline erased all signs of pain from his body. When he finally awoke the next day, he got it treated (they took many days to heal fully) and went about his business.

From the experience, however, Deathwatch occasionally gets mild nightmares. He also has many large scars.

The future is now!

Relationships[]

Quick (Sister)[]

"I always loved Quick, and she always loved me."

Quick is, well, quick. She's very smart, and passed school with ease. She is usually found reading in the library.

Millipede (Sister)[]

"Millipede. She was always a bit strange, but she's still my sister. And really, she's not all that strange. At least, not to me."

Millipede is always staring into nothingness, and says ominous things, usually to scare other dragons. But she's actually quite kind.

Hover (Brother)[]

"Hover was so energetic! Always starting little fights and such. He's a good brother."

Hover was (and is) easily the most hyper, and often pulled harmless pranks on other dragons. He's a goofball.

Sunset (Mother)[]

"Sunset is Sunset. I'm lucky to have her as a mother. Always very kind and forgiving."

Sunset is a beautiful HiveWing, with a liking to shiny things. But she's definitely not vain.

Armipotent (Father)[]

"I'd turn out to be spoiled, if you weren't there. Thanks."

Armipotent is a strict and disciplined CentiWing, who still like to have fun sometimes.

"All you need is a handful of gold and a house, and you'll be set forever. But some dragons think of this as too little. Of course they do."
