Bellona loves Kauri more than anything in the world. She'd do anything to save her, and always listens to her advice. Kauri didn't turn in Bellona to the authorities, which made Bellona trust her even more. They used to have to meet in secret on dark nights in the Rainforest, but ever since Bellona left the Talons of Shadow, she has been traveling with Kauri, never apart for too long.

Nightshade neglected Bellona while she was a dragonet, and acted more as a trainer than her mother. Because of this, Bellona has a thirst for love from her mother. Nightshade also threatened to kill Kauri and almost did, but Bellona escaped with Kauri. She hates her mother for making her kill all those dragons that dared mess with her mother's plans, and is now doing everything in her power to stop the Talons of Shadow. Both mother and daughter have a fierce, burning hatred for each other.
