a silkwing, although an oddly named one, bean is about average in height, perhaps a bit shorter. they're rather stout in form, and generally has a rather peaceful expression on their face.
their eyes are a smooth brown with hints of a dark orange, like melted chocolate, just a shade darker than their scales, which are the only semi-strange part of their appearance. some dragons would call them downright ugly. others, unique. strange. few would call them beautiful.
bean's scales are a lighter shade of brown than their eyes, with soft orange shapes, each around the approximate shape of an oval but each unique, which are dappled on their scales. through this runs small lines of white. strangely enough, this affect is also existent on their antennae and horns.
bean isn't one much for accessories, and therefore wears none most of the time.
an extrovert, they're rather sociable, the kind of dragonet that could keep on talking for hours on end. since they were young, they were obsessed with beans and what one could do with them; a fixation that used to bring scornful words upon them. words that said that they were useless, that they were nothing, that they would never be anything.
they don't mind much about their strange coloring, or obsession. to them, it just means that they're unique, like their precious beans - not perfect edible vegetable spheres, but still beautiful, still epic, in their own way.
the dragonet has a talent for keeping secrets, hiding emotions - a skill that they had never used much except to brush off taunts. they're an optimist at heart; naturally finding the good side to everything. their strange scales and obsession just meant that they were unique, like all dragons. and about the whole liking beans thing, well... really, who could say, say for sure, that beans were useless? therefore, they're usually the dragon who's counted on to cheer up friends.
and yet, they're rather naïve; hardly ever doubting dragons. mistrust is simply something that they don't understand, growing up in an environment where there were no discontented dragons... well, as far as they knew. rebellion, and just refusing to do anything in general was never a concept that came to their mind.
they're content, hardly ever experiencing much change in the short bit of life that they had lived so far. not shy, and yet not rebellious, simply just... living their life, and happily.
bean's upbringing was fairly normal; even boring. they hatched in mantis hive, the "smart" hive. and yet they were nothing but fairly mediocre in academics - nothing unique in that aspect; perhaps a result of their tending to daydream during classes instead.
met may, friend ig, uh, kinda bonded because like may was into painting and stuff uh and uh isn't mantis hive supposed to be the academic hive an all so yeah
oh yeah!! got their wings!! metamorphosis, got silk and wings and vibed
okay figure out how they got their bean/cooking obsession uH
which, in retrospect, uh, does that even matter that much again? how the heck does pantala work again? pensob
no bean will continue to vibe and cook beanspainted - semi-positive: their mother was always on them about how they should follow her in the "path of art" or whatever which was not something that they cared for at all, preferring to cook beans instead, thus leading their relationship to become slightly strained over the years. despite this, she's still their mother, and they love her.
gulf - positive: a slightly distant father, gulf is a servant for the hivewings and is quite supportive of bean's love of beans. he also can't cook. at all.
may - positive: soon after they started school, they met may, a small shy silkwing who stumbled over her words like rocks falling. she loved art and weaving, as bean's mother also did, but despite that connection with the only thing bean had ever tried to avoid, the two quickly became friends.
spring - positive: despite the fact that they don't see each other too often, they write letters to each other and are pretty good friends.sdgkjhlsdg
- bean was based off a can of beans.
- their design is literally just a picture of beans on revek's silkwing base.
- there is, unfortunately, no bean butterfly or something. there, however, is the pea blue butterfly 👍 close enough.
- despite the fact that they were named beans at the time of their hatching, dragons call them both bean and beans freely.
