Appearance

Baskara looks like your average TempestWing. She has dark blue mainscales with slightly lighter overscales. Her transitional scales are a slightly muted light pink. Baskara's underbelly is a dusty tan color, the color of wet sand. Her wings membranes are a stormy blue-gray with electric yellow wing stripes.

Baskara's eyes are a bright violet, contrasting her otherwise mostly muted color scheme but complementing her bright sing stripes. Her body is long and while she is a good two inches shorter than most dragons she meets, Baskara gives off an intimidating aura. You don't want to mess with her as Baskara has a way of asserting her dominance.

In the War of SandWing Succession, Baskara was a soldier in the Strike Force. She wore the standard armor, and would sometimes paint her scales bright yellows or pinks to intimidate whoever they were fighting against. Baskara somehow survived the war with only minor scars on her neck, face, and legs. She wears no accessories, but has a small tattoo of a sun on her left hind leg. She sometimes wears the helmet from her old armor as it brings her comfort.

Personality

Baskara is a very stoic and no-nonsense kind of guy. He does not tolerate stupidity and always keeps order in his bar, criminals and rowdy dragons are not welcomed there. He was respected and occasionally hated for this attitude in the army, but now most dragons are grateful for it whenever a fight breaks out in the bar. He's secretly a daydreamer, though. Baskara is tired of the world being terrible and escapes reality by getting lost in a good book or going to a play.

Baskara tends to hide and bottle up his feelings, which is not healthy because he has mild PTSD. He learned from the Great War that life isn't a joyride and is often quite terrible. During the war, he shifted dramatically from a happy-go-lucky naive dragonet to a hardened adult. He doesn't really likes dragonets, as they are annoying and their naivety gets on Baskara's nerves.

History

Baskara was born four years before the start of the Great War. After the war started, her parents immediately sent her to be trained as a soldier. Baskara was a good soldier and was among the best of her class, and even received some advanced training. She graduated from military school and became part of the Strike Force at age 8. Her entire family was proud of her, and Baskara was very proud of herself too.

Seventeen years ago, her life changed forever.

It was her first battle, the TempestWings and some SkyWings versus the IceWings. Baskara was unprepared for that day. She was unprepared for the day she met Chill, an IceWing guard.

Chill was perfect in every way, in Baskara's eyes. He was gleaming white with an azure tint to some of his scales, and he always had a proud smile on his face. So when Baskara met him on the battlefield, she couldn't bring herself to kill him. She just couldn't. So when they stood face to face, eye to eye with each other, the sounds of the battle were distant and frankly irrelevant. Chill didn't move, and neither did Baskara.

It was only when Cerise, Baskara's friend, whizzed past Baskara's ear was Baskara brought back to reality. Baskara realized that the perfect IceWing was the enemy. She took her spear and with a loud roar she brought it down, giving Chill a deep gash in the shoulder. She flew away, Chill bleeding, and never looked back.

That battle got her promoted to captain, and after her twelfth battle she advanced to the rank of commander. She helped Queen Burn and the SkyWings gain many victories. Commander Baskara was well respected among her comrades and really had no enemies (except for the tribes they were fighting against).

The night after the TempestWings and SkyWings won a very important battle, Chill suddenly appeared in the soldiers' barracks. Baskara nearly screamed and thought that Chill was a stalker, but then he revealed himself to be the IceWing Baskara almost killed all those years ago. Baskara was ready to kill Chill, but he took her outside and told her that he had left the army. He showed Baskara the scar that she had given him so many moons ago. Baskara was still skeptical of Chill but she soon warmed up to him.

Chill convinced Baskara to leave the army for a few months. They lived in a forest for a while. All was joyful and well, and those moments were like no other to Baskara. She soon realized that she had fallen in love with Chill, and she wondered if he felt the same.

Evidently not.

On the last day of the fourth month of Baskara and Chill living together, Baskara woke up to IceWing soldiers grabbing her and tying her up. She tried to fly away, but there were too many IceWing soldiers. Baskara pleaded with her eyes for Chill to help her, but Chill just looked down and didn't do anything. Through her anger, though, Baskara could see that Chill deeply regretted his choice. Her heart was shattered in a million pieces after realizing that Chill had betrayed her. He didn't leave the army. He just had to get close to Baskara, and then the IceWings would take her away.

Baskara was taken to Queen Glacier for interrogation. No matter how much they tortured her and held her prisoner, Baskara was not about to betray her tribe by giving away all the battle tactics and strategies Burn was using. She was thrown in jail, and was in prison for a few weeks before she heard the sound of key jingling with the lock.

It was Chill. Chill was breaking Baskara out. Once Baskara saw his face, she immediately jumped on Chill and pinned him down, ready to kill him. Only the sound of IceWing guards approaching saved Chill's life. Chill then explained to Baskara that he was freeing her and that it was perfectly reasonable for her to hate him. They escaped through the night.

Just as Baskara was about to leave, she realized what Chill was doing to rescue her. He was betraying his entire tribe, committing treason, and was about to get knocked down to the seventh circle. Baskara knew, at that moment, that during those blissful months, Chill had really loved her. Baskara hesitated before leaving. She electrocuted Chill on the way out to make her escape more believable, like she had actually escaped.

Baskara found her way back to the army and said that the IceWings had held her captive to explain why she was gone for five months. She was welcomed back with open arms, and soon received her armor back. She went on to become a general.

After her little adventure in the Ice Kingdom, Baskara realized that you couldn't trust anybody. She worked on making a hard exterior for herself and for the most part it worked. Baskara became more tough and tried not to think of Chill after that. She miserably failed.

Ten years after the war ended Baskara opened a tavern/inn in the Sky Kingdom. Business went well, and she had enough money to keep the place in order and feed her customers. Baskara hired Cerise and Mocha, longtime friends of hers, to work at the inn. Apart from a few rowdy customers, the tavern was fine. Everything was perfect until Chill showed up.

As soon as Baskara saw his pristine white spikes poke through the door, she stomped over to Chill and started shouting at him. About how he betrayed her, about how she though Chill was a good dragon, about how she had enjoyed his company. Every single dragon in the tavern was quiet, and even the rats didn't dare move. After Baskara was done her yelling, she waved her hand, telling everyone to go back to their drinks. Chill was scared out of his wits and very quietly sat at a table in the corner.

After that incident, Baskara and Chill have began to slowly rebuild their relationship. After two years Baskara trusts Chill, but doesn't forgive him for betraying her. She probably never will, and it certainly will take her a long time to start loving Chill again.

Relationships

Chill: Baskara used to be in love with Chill before Chill betrayed him. Baskara knows that Chill is a good dragon, and enjoys his company. Baskara will never forgive Chill for what he did to him. He is slowly rebuilding his relationship with Chill, and might have a sliver of love for the IceWing.

Cerise: Baskara and Cerise were best friends ever since they met so many years ago. While Cerise didn't become a general like Baskara, Cerise served under Baskara as his commander. Cerise enjoys his life at Baskara's tavern, and respects the TempestWing.

Mocha: Baskara and Mocha go way back. They've been friends for a long while, almost as long as Baskara and Cerise, and are deeply loyal to each other. Mocha was a healer in the war, and tended to Baskara's many scars and scratches in the war. Mocha likes his life as Baskara's head chef.

Apache: Baskara finds the young dragon amusing. He finds it finny how hard Apache tries to be tough but fails. He finds it annoying that Apache trails after him, and tries to pick a fight with him. Nevertheless, the dragon has found a place in Baskara's heart and Baskara has gotten her out of trouble quite a few times.
