the title of the au is pending!
the non-binary (they/them) prinxe of the SeaWings and residing regent alongside King Shark.
appearance[]
takes after the late king gill. green scales and pink accents. takes after whiskered auklets. they're a large dragon for their age in a stocky and low set way, with very little elegance or grace above the water. their element is the water and they prefer seawing business for the extents of aquatic and body language. they're quite out of their element out of the sea as they work on public restoration projects.
personality[]
very clearly a young adult trying their best to claw their way into a place of respect, without really knowing what they're doing. they're obviously privileged but privilege doesn't exactly equal respect. the seawing counsel, for the most part, holds quite a lot of disdain for prinxe auklet's choices and blatant disregard for queen coral's expectations for her kingdom.
they're self conscious and tend to have a short fuse. they snap easily and hate being taken for a fool. even if they're ignorant on a topic, they do not save face and react with appreciation for those who talk down to them.
they're very emotionally sensitive and crave highly emotional relationships. they struggle with surface level friendships and put a lot of stock into every relationship they have. which is difficult when they hardly know their brothers, their closest family (king shark) isn't exactly the feeling type, and they were generally treated with a lot of alienation on the basis that they were queen coral's "precious little daughter," therefore most people worry that they're high strung in the sense that they're difficult to socialize with due to their entitlement. which isn't wrong. they tend to have feelings of entitlement at times. they tend to be aware of it and are training themself to unlearn it.
history[]
after the untimely death of Queen Coral, the princesses of the kingdom were contacted. Tsunami was willing, but reluctant, being out of touch with the seawings and wasnt sure if they would accept her as a the new queen or if she'd even be successful. Anemone, on the other hand, was ultimately unreachable. she had disappeared from the seawing populace after graduating jade mountain and moving to the rainforest with tamarin.
for the time being, auklet was given the title of queen, against their will. during the political fluster that ensued, auklet reached out to the most level headed adult that was entrusted to care for them during corals final moments, auklet offered prince shark the crown, to the shock and dismay of the council.
shark, stewing over the idea of usurping and claiming the throne from auklet by force - on account he was worried their sheltered upbringing would make them an unfitting ruler -, was extremely surprised and quickly pivoted. he took the crown, and the heavy responsibility, from the dragonet's shoulders. on the condition he would teach auklet how to do right for the seawings.
Relationships[]
Prince Cliff - how fortunate that these two members of royalty tend to have similar progressive beliefs. cliff found auklet at a time where they needed the support of a peer, instead of members of a court, to uplift and empower them. fortunately, cliff is excellent at that. auklet feels closer to cliff than most of their brothers, a sentiment she feels guilty about (but it's not like they haven't tried to connect with them). the two are inseparable when they get the chance to be together and they do their best to show their gratitude for him.
Peacemaker - a friend through cliff. they met briefly when they went to rainforest. auklet is curious about him but he's far too awkward for their taste. maybe they'll have the opportunity to talk to him when he isn't so frazzled about a celebration he needs to plan, but the first impression wasn't... bad but it wasn't exactly flattering.
