Arctia is a surprisingly short young SilkWing with wings that seem to be too large for her, and warm orange eyes that seem to be a bit stubborn and angry. HiveWings tend to get unnerved by her facial expression although she seems polite when she talks - those words really hold nothing behind them though, and you don't have to be a genius to spot them. Although she doesn't discriminate against HiveWings, she hates the majority, who just come and watch SilkWings tire themselves out in jobs they didn't even ask for.
Occupation[]
Her job is as a SilkWing racer. These races often are risky and dangerous, though, and are held weekly. They are often held at sunset in a well-lit course on Fridays, when dragonets are out of school and can join the show. She has a patron, Affinis, who is very pushy and rude at times. She's also one of the most famous racers, despite her snappish attitude. Later on in life, she loses this job for “not being flashy enough” and eventually gets taken to the Freak Tower.
Description[]
Arctia has scales that are described to be seemingly made of gemstone to the touch, and her scales are a paled out yam, along with faint red freckles traveling down them. Her eyes are described to be an intense, aggressive orange, only being the slightest bit warm. She has a longer tail than most SilkWings and enormous wings for her size, to the point when measured with them, she's as tall as a HiveWing.
She often bares her teeth and raises her antennae when threatened, and make a low hissing noise, while when startled her antennae seem to flatten and her spikes flare up, sort of like a NightWing's due to her faint 12.5% NightWing blood. She is also described to rely on her teeth, tail, silk and front claws in battle, and prefers aerial combat, due to being small and easy to pin down on ground. She is also described to hiss threateningly when she feels scares, and her antennae flatten out, or curl up on her horns.
Personality[]
Arctia is known for being fatigued, and arguably hostile. Despite being a SilkWing, she has her own passive-aggressive snarky way of verbally attacking HiveWings. She acts like a villain often, and does seem to be that way, especially with fellow SilkWings, who are only used to HiveWings treating them terribly - and Arctia is far worse than some of them, going as far to blame her teammates of her own doing - she doesn't even commit these actions out of spite, the worst part - she commits them out of boredom.
