Appearance[]
Angel Wings is a large dragon with an average amount of muscle. Her scales are have an unusual thick plating, like her namesake, and a soft velvety feel.
Her scales are a pale green with slightly darker under-scales that are accompanied by a slight blue hue. Her wings are slightly undeveloped and are a duller green and appear slightly shriveled, rendering almost incapable of flight. She has scattered pea-colored scales that share the same colors as her horns, frill, and over-scales. Her horns and frills are also streaked with mild purples. Her eyes appear to shift color in the light between blues and browns.
She likes to wear ribbons alongs her wings even though they eliminate her limited ability of flight. She also wears large golden hoops through her ears and wings, always in sets of two or a multiple thereof.
Personality[]
Note: many of the positive and negative traits may be contradictory, but the main purpose behind Angel Wing’s character is that she is learning and growing.
Positive Traits
- empathetic through shared experiences
- she is working on understanding and sympathizing with experiences that are not similar to her own
- learning to share her emotions in more responsible ways
Neutral Traits
- she sometimes obsesses over things, wanting them to be perfect, but other times she can be rather apathetic
- it could be either, regardless of the task. One day she may pour her heart and soul into it, and another she may just not care
Negative Traits
- bitter
- manipulative
- bottles up emotions
- tends to let them boil up until she explodes in fits of yelling and anger, although it is rarely physical
Early Years (~5½)
- very angry and bitter over her disabilities
- she blamed others for her problems, even when the problems were out of their control
- she stored up her anger and frustration
- she almost never took it out physically but would have intense bursts of shouting with whoever did something that would tip her over the edge
Later Years (5½ - present)
- as she matured, she learned to control her anger and turn it into something productive
- she began to listen to and understand the feelings of others
- in her later years of schooling she decided that she wanted to help others so she began training to be a special education teacher

- she always found it easier to interact with dragonets than with dragons her own age

Parsnip - Sibling
Angel Wings often remained pretty close with her twin. Even with her selfish attitude, Angel Wings helped her twin sister with its gender identity. Parsnip learned Pantalan Sign Language to support its sister, even before Angel Wings, and the two have a mutual nurturing and supportive relationship. There were times when Angel Wings became distant from it, but they never lasted too long. However, tensions between them have increased as Angel Wing’s doesn’t like Parsnip’s new girlfriend because she is rude to her, but Parsnip doesn’t agree.
Snowberry - Sister
She never got to know her sister as Snowberry died of medical reasons shortly after her hatching when Angel Wings was about four years old. Initially, Angel Wings was upset of her death because it took her parent’s attention away from her, and she used it to get pity and attention from her peers. Eventually, she came to feel guilty about her feelings regarding her sister’s death and managed to tell her parents, who assured her that things were okay for all of them and helped her get over a few of her problems.
Grandmother
Angel Wings only knew her grandmother for a short time as she died of old age when Angel Wings was three. During this time, they maintained a relatively positive relationship. Initially, Angel Wings was unaware that her grandmother was also deaf. Her parents hadn’t realized that Angel Wings didn’t know, and when they offhandedly brought it up one day, Angel Wings was surprised. She was a little angry and felt that her parents were belittling her because she didn’t know. She also was angry because she partly blamed her grandmother for her deafness and she could have passed it down to her. She still is struggling with mixed feelings about her grandmother, torn between her love for her when she was young and the hard time she has accepting her deafness.

- although her scales are thick and plated like a MudWing’s she has no traceable MudWing ancestry.
- as she grew, she began to care less about being able to fly and instead donned lots of jewelry on her wings which, when worn, render her completely incapable of flight.
- she has always been completely deaf, which was likely inherited from her great-grandmother
- she is now fluent in Pantalan Sign Language
- she was born during the Othermind’s rule of Pantala and is currently living in the free Pantala, after the conclusion of book 15 (tFoH)
- she is named after the Angel Wing plant (Begonia aconitifolia x Begonia coccinea)
- her scale texture is based on the characteristics of her namesake plant
- she has leafspeak but it isn’t that strong
- she can “hear” the plants in a sense
