If the world is truly a dark place, then this dragon would be the source of light that never dies.
Don't get me wrong, Amber is just as flawed as any other soul who walks this world - sure, they might outwardly seem like the perfect angel that everyone turns to in their dark times, but no one is immune to all the mishaps the world throws at everyone. They don't see themselves as a hero - because quite frankly, they aren't exactly one either. If you told them one day they would wake up and just be ready to fight the monsters that lurk in the dark, they would simply laugh it off as something impossible. Yet, there is one difference that makes them just as indispensable as any other protagonist, one that makes their presence invaluable.
Amber might just be one speck of light in the darkness, one tiny flame that could never push away all the cold, but as long as they are burning, they live knowing they are making a difference.

A unique presence in an already odd entourage. Those words perfectly describe Amber - the only one sure of their heritage, the only one who is happy to be out and about with their hybrid blood, seemingly the only undying source of light in this world of darkness they live in.
They are a large dragon for their age - you might not expect a dragon who has just barely passed their dragonet years to appear much, much taller than their companions. Amber almost resembles a normal SandWing at first glance, except that their overall build has several noticeable traits that show their MudWing side. They are bulky and muscular looking, the thickness of their limbs being a very obvious sign to this heritage of theirs. Besides their stature, however, they still look vastly like a SandWing, with a barbed tail, a ridge on their spine, and having the tribe's general wing shape.
Coloration wise, you can tell that their main scales are the reason for their name - amber and honey colored hues line their body. Amber's scale pattern seems to be unique, not a shape recognizable by either of their base tribes, as they seem to appear like refined jewels, or precious rocks. Their scales are tough, another sign of their MudWing blood. Pale beige streaks can be seen lining their talons, like flecks of sand dusting their vibrant complexion. Their SandWing ridge is a light, sunny gold, with dirt brown splashing across it, vaguely resembling desert shrubs, or dried out leaves. Amber has a line of softer scales on their face, ranging from their forehead down to their nose, which are a very pale sandy color, so pale that it's almost white, flecked with darker spots of the same color, like the soft sand you find on a beach. The same color pattern applies to their underbelly, which is also strangely softer than the rest of their scales.
Amber's wings share almost the same coloration as their previously mentioned features, but more gold stripes can be found at the edges of their wing membranes, giving them a marble-like look. Their tail barb is striped with the same gold and colored like the desert sand seen at dusk. Their most prominent feature is probably the fact that they seem to lack claws - in reality, they simply have retractable ones, and they keep them hidden by default. The reason as to why they possess this is unknown, the same can also be applied to the fact that their talons look soft and more like a lion's paw than anything like a dragon's.
Their eyes seem to be a blend of both turquoise and light jade green, creating an illusory effect that vaguely resembles clear water. Their gaze is kind and gentle, radiating the same warmth as their scales. While Amber's expression do not typically indicate they are prone to large shows of emotions, one can easily tell their mood shifts by their expressions, no matter how subtle they try to keep it.
The large dragon doesn't seem to be a threat, no matter how they might look like on the outside. Amber walks with a cool and calm gait, their movements unthreatening in every way. For all a stranger sees is friendly intent, and they always come across as genuine with it.
From an outsider's perspective, Amber's personality is easy to pinpoint with a few key traits - notably their seemingly endless reserve of patience and kindness. They are almost never present in any argument, never heard spitting out nasty remarks, and rarely ever would anyone catch a hint of heat in their voice.
These would all be true. Amber is a peacemaker and pacifist by nature, and they have vowed to never lay a talon on another dragon out of the intention to harm. The only times when they are forced to resort to brute strength is in self-defense, something they don't really enjoy doing either. They are friendly in both speech and action, often displaying gestures of kindness and goodwill to those around them. They would never judge another dragon for who they are, as long as they perceive them as someone good at heart.
Among their friends, Amber could be seen as the gentle sage everyone goes to for advice after a particularly rough time in their life. They are on the quieter side, preferring to listen rather than lead a conversation, and thus they are the perfect dragon for someone to relay all their feelings to. They acknowledge everyone's words as important, and sometimes prioritize solving their close friends' problems more than their own. They often tell others to follow their heart, helping them understand emotions that might have been causing the issue, and their gentle, genuine outlook easily convinces others to open up to them.
However, they are not without their flaws - Amber struggles to see a lot of things from an objective point of view, and their emotions cloud their ability to make decisions. They often feel that they've made a right decision without actually thinking it through, failing to see beyond the surface of things and ending up regretting consequences later. They are also incredibly sensitive, and tend to overthink things on another dragon's part, especially when the matter concerns those they care about. They can also be seen as a bit overbearing when they personally disagree with one of their loved ones' decisions. They always have others' best interests in mind - but fail to see that their desired results differs greatly from what others may perceive it to be.
When it comes to their own emotions, Amber seems to struggle with opening up the way they encourage others to do so with themselves. The rare moments where they could be seen lashing out are most of the time caused by bottling their feelings over a long period of time, and during these moments they might be compelled to make bad decisions. This is their main weakness - their inability to see things from a logical standpoint when overwhelmed by emotions, and their tendency to keep their own feelings to themselves doesn't help. They can also be ridiculously stubborn when it comes to accepting help, and dislikes showing weakness on their part.
Amber is generally an organized dragon and prefers things where they can see them - unforeseen events cause them a great deal of stress. They love having schedules, timetables and plans, from little things to huge operations, and they tend to actively keep the environment around themselves clean and neat. This often makes them reluctant to change their plans, despite it being a necessary course of action sometimes, and they are often unhappy about unexpected events surprising them out of the blue. They are trying to work on this flaw to become a more flexible dragon.
