Disclaimer: This is not the canon Albatross, just a oc named after him.
This famous tale, The SeaWing Who Swam too Far, The Cursed One, Victim to the Monster.. goes by many names. This one is about a dragonet, one who was hatched to be deemed greatest to ever live, well, according to his mother. Named after the once great animus prince of the SeaWings, this young SeaWing is the one who adventured into the depths, never to be seen again.
I was laughed at for being a seahorse herder again today.. humf! If they dare try again, I’m definitely gonna shove a sea star up their snout!

appearance
Albatross is a pure SeaWing that has distant blue scales, his underscales being much lighter. He has darker secondary scales that neatly complaints his appearance. His horns and spikes are the darkest shade, his spikes connecting his fins that are a bright, pale blue. He has triangular patterns on both his fins, body, and hair; also a dim stripe trailing down to the tip of his tail. Albatross’s eyes beams with curiosity and anticipation, almost ruining his elegant and calm colors. His bioluminescence scales are a blue-ish grey that contrasts sharply with his others scales.
Albatross has the average sleek, lean SeaWing build with short wings and rounded tails. He might be shorter then normal but has impressive wings that he shows off with swimming.

personality
Albatross is a curious, brave, and witty SeaWing, though he gets frustrated when other dragons try to break his dream. Even if he was commonly bullied for being named after The Albatross and also his dream, he continued on being a bright and happy dragon. He was called “annoying” and “loud” commonly, talking without stop for concerning amount of times. A problem he has is that he is too quick to think and does things that he doesn’t think through. He also shown to be a bit of a show-off, flexing his swimming skills and speed anytime he can proudly. Even if Albatross’s parents and teachers are seen alway’s tired with his troublesome behavior, they try to be supportive.
In general, Albatross is a sweet and adventurous dragon. A bit childish for his wild dreams, but he only wants what other dragons wants, a simple life. A life that’s not to crazy, but not too boring. And having a job including waiting and floating around watching seahorses is a boring life, according to him. He might be a little jealous, frowning upon many popular SeaWings. That’s why adventures were his thing, he wanted it to be his thing. The reason why he gets known for, to be famous and be told as a epic tale for future generations. Well, if he had the chance to say one last thing, it’ll be “Curiosity won’t get you anywhere, only trouble,”

history
Hatched underwater as a commoner in a small SeaWing Village, he’s fate lies where his home is. His parents usually had trapped him inside before his school days, teaching him rights and wrong. But Albatross doesn’t like being held back from all the adventures he could have. But he was destined to become his father, a small farmer. He only wanted to explore, swim, dream! So dream he did, his biggest dream was.. a little much, you can say. Many doubted it, explore the entirety of the ocean? Psh-
Everyone thought he’ll grow out of it, saying it’s the dragonet in him. His parents, believing that he’ll grow out of it as well, let him be. Letting him explore in the view of their home, not knowing that this choice will be the cause of his demise. So they just told him one thing, one thing ever since hatching.
“Never go to the depths, do you hear me? The dark is dangerous, full of monsters, evils.”
It was simple, don’t go to where it is dark. But Albatross, feeling stuck and bored in his limited homespace, wanted to prove to everyone that he can do anything. So years after, he decided to adventure into the unknown. Of course, under the cover of night. When his parents awoke, they simply thought he went out for a early tour of the land again.
He didn’t come back.
A search party was sent, one to the village, one to the deep palace, one to the city.. what about the chasm you ask? The SeaWings were afraid, scared of “the imaginary monsters that took Albatross”, like little dragonets, fearing his name.

Someone who he had always looked up to, and was very close with. She was the first to support him even if she might’ve lied half the time. Except for a few fights about his name and limitations, they truly care for each other.

Even if Albatross loved him as a family, they never really was close. His father wanted him to take his place as a farmer after he passed. He also disapproved of his dream, saying that it’s silly and childish.
