Aki[]

"Goodbye Pyrrhia, you've been a good home. But the storm calls to me..."

- Aki, in "Call of the Wild"

Aki was a LeafWing/SkyWing hybrid who lived during the SandWing War of Succession. She has a brother, Toranku and temporarily dated an IceWing named Brilliance, before her disappearance, thirteen years after she hatched. Aki's story is now passed down her descendants as a legend.

PLEASE DO NOT EDIT, STEAL OR USE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION, THANK YOU! This page is a WIP.

Appearance[]

Aki has dark, forest green scales with a citrus orange underbelly. Crimson scales line her spine, and crimson and lime scales dot her body. Her wings are a pale orange, which eventually fades into green, and her leaf-tail is also pale orange. Aki has dark orange eyes and sharp claws. Her horns and spikes are a dark shade of gold. Aki has a torn ear on her left side, which she got when she was a young dragonet from falling out of a tree.

Aki does not usually wear any jewellery, considering that she grew up in poverty, but after Aki turned 6, she returned home with 7 beautiful stones (ruby, diamond, tourmaline, amethyst, sapphire, emerald and skyfire), in which her brother, Toronku (who works as a jeweller) made into a golden bracelet. Aki sometimes wears cloth pouches which she uses to put her things in.

Aki has been described to have a light but loud voice, like 'sunshine but overly bright'.

Personality[]

Aki is a fierce and overprotective individual, but also a cheerful, kind, friendly and generous dragon. Aki can be shy around new dragons but is an overall extraverted dragon. Aki is ecstatic, paranoid and forgetful, often annoying too. Aki believes in self-confidence and loyalty, but doesn't have much self-confidence herself. Aki will stand up for her friends, even if what the friend has done is wrong, which can result to her being portrayed as an antagonist.

However, Aki still tries to do the right thing at the end of the day, and makes up for the things she does. She tries to forgive dragons, and although she can be reluctant at first, Aki will eventually give in and welcome you back in with open wings.

Flaws[]

Aki's biggest flaw is her fierce loyalty. Although loyalty is usually a good thing, Aki will stick up for her friends even if they have done great wrong. Aki often outweighs friendship over fair judgement, which can often get her into trouble. Although Aki stays on the good side of her friends most of the time during this, Aki finds herself facing being called a coward for being afraid of antagonising her friends.

Aki also has great trust issues. She has trouble trusting other dragons at first, which can often portray her as untrustworthy and arrogant. Aki hates it when dragons turn on her, which is why her trust issues grow stronger day by day.

Aki cannot take criticism. Due to her difficult childhood (dragonet-hood??), Aki takes criticism as someone continuously picking on her, resulting to a continuous chanting of "you're bullying me, stop it". Aki can sometimes be seen as weak.

Aki is full of pride. This pride is often hurt, and when it is, Aki's penned-up emotions can burst in a spiral which ends up with everyone (including Aki) feeling bad.

MBTI & DND Alignment[]

Aki's MBTI personality is ENTP. ENTPs are usually enthusiastic, strategic, and enjoy new ideas and challenges.

Aki is Neutral Good. She does the best that a good dragon can do. She is devoted to helping others. Aki works with queens and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Aki can be a dangerous dragon when it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Biography[]

Early life:[]

Aki grew up in the forest east of the Kingdom of Sand during the SandWing War of Succession. She lived a fairly ordinary life, as her parents were not soldiers. Aki did not take part in the war and had no care for it whatsoever. She spent her time looking for pretty rocks and teasing her brother, Toranku. At some point in their life, the forest her family was living in went up in flames from the heat of Summer. Aki and her family had to flee from their home, and during this, Aki's mother was killed by the fire trying to save her dragonets. It is unknown what happened to their father, as he was never seen again after the fire, although Aki and Toranku never found their father's body. The two lived in a cave until the forest replenished once more. They built another treehouse in a spot near where their old one had been and buried their mother's body. Life continued as normal from then on, with Toranku taking care of Aki as much as he could, whilst also selling his creations in the nearby towns, including the Scorpion Den.

An unlikely friendship:[]

Once she turned seven, Aki met a SandWing named Sunstone and immediately wanted to be friends with this dragon. Aki finds herself in a strange situation as Sunstone is fighting in the war. She and Sunstone agree to meet in secret every night, under the cover of trees. During this time, Sunstone and Aki find themselves buried in each other's company almost always. About a year after the two started meeting, Sunstone suddenly stopped visiting. Confused, Aki searches for her friend, eventually stumbling across a soldier camp. She looks around, trying to find Sunstone but also trying not to be seen. When Aki finally sees Sunstone, her friend looked her in the eyes and then disappeared behind a campfire. When Aki tried to follow, she found a note stuck to the pole of a nearby tent that read:

"I'm sorry. But the tribe comes first. Thank you for being the friend I needed. -Sunstone"

Confused and hurt, Aki found Sunstone again and interrogated her. When they met up, Sunstone explained that the SandWings were planning to attack the MudWings after their split up from the SeaWing alliance with Blister's forces. Shocked, Aki protested at how inhumane it was, which Sunstone agreed to. Suntone told Aki that it would be a bloodbath, and she might not make it out alive. Aki, uneducated about the idea of death, flew off angrily. Sunstone (unbeknownst to Aki) decided it was for the best.

When the SandWing army finally returned from their successful battle, Sunstone was not amongst them. Grief and shock overwhelmed Aki, and she regretted not saying a proper goodbye to Sunstone, as well as blaming herself for not trying harder to stop Sunstone from going. Aki never made another friend after this for a long time.

The Seven Rocks[]

Aki met another SandWing not too long after Sunstone's death. This dragon's name was Brittlebush. However, her dusty-gold scales reminded Aki too much of Sunstone, and she did not become friends with Brittlebush, despite Brittlebush's bright hopes. On her way home, Aki found seven rocks, specifically a ruby, a tourmaline, a sapphire, a piece of skyfire, an agate, a tiger's eye and an emerald. Surprised and delighted by her findings, Aki asked her brother, Toranku, who was working as a jeweller at this time, to make a bracelet for her with these jewels. Toranku agreed, and he eventually beat a thick, gold bracelet with the stones into a bracelet for her.

Aki decided to name all seven rocks after friends that meant something to her in her life. She named the ruby after her mother, the emerald after her father, the tourmaline after Toranku and the tiger's eye after Sunstone. Later, Aki would name the remaining three rocks after dragons she met; Misty, Brilliance and Moonscythe.

Leaving Home[]

After Aki turned 11, she left home without saying goodbye to Toranku. She left a note explaining that she was going to travel the world and record everything in bits of writing. Much to her credit, Toranku didn't follow her, as he felt as if stopping her would be caging her freedom. During her travels, Aki wrote about the war, the other kingdoms and the dragonets of destiny, selling her works to any travelling merchants that were willing to buy them. For a half year, life went on as it did.

Meeting Brilliance[]

Whilst on the edge of the Ice Kingdom, Aki was met off by Brilliance, a bright silver IceWing who was part of Queen Glacier's royal guard. Brilliance was initially annoyed and fierce at Aki's appearance so close to the Ice Kingdom, and attempted to pry information out of Aki. Aki insisted that she was just travelling and writing about how beautiful snowflakes were. This softened Brilliance and she warned Aki not to cross the Great Ice Wall, who was fascinated yet horrified at the enchantment on the wall. Aki agreed and thanked Brilliance.

The two spent the next two weeks exchanging ideas on how to describe the beautiful frosty environment of the tundra. However, this friendship was cut short when Glacier and the royal guard prepared to fly home to the Ice Palace. Sad to lose another friend, Aki promised Brilliance that they'd meet again, although they both knew this was a lie. As a final gift of gratitude, Aki gifted Brilliance the poem the two had spent so long brainstorming over. Brilliance was humbled by this, and hugged it close, stating that it was 'the best present she'd ever received'. Aki later named the agate on her bracelet after Brilliance.

Relationships[]

Aki's Mother[]

Although Aki didn't get to know her mother much before she died, Aki loved her dearly, and vice versa. Aki was saddened by her mother's death, and named the ruby on her bracelet after her mother.

Aki's Father[]

Although Aki didn't get to know her father much before he died, Aki loved him just as much as she loved her mother. Although Aki's father was quite stern and overprotective, the two got along quite well. When he didn't appear after the forest fire, Aki was greatly distraught, and named the emerald on her bracelet after her father.

Toranku[]

Toranku and Aki had a close sibling relationship. When their parents disappeared/died, Toranku raised Aki himself, throwing away the life he could've had for her. Toranku helped Aki forge her bracelet, and she similarly named the tourmaline on her bracelet after him. When Aki ran away from home, Toranku respected her decision and did not stop her. He missed her after she left, but continued life. He ended up marrying a LeafWing named Wisteria, and they had three dragonets. Toranku named their youngest dragonet after Aki in memory of his younger sister. He spent much of his life gathering the scraps of writing Aki left around Pyrrhia to piece together her life after she left home. Toranku also made sure her story was known by his descendants, telling her like a legend to his dragonets, who passed the story on to theirs'.

Sunstone[]

Sunstone was Aki's first friend. The two knew each other for a year before Sunstone left to fight for the SandWings. She died in a battle against the MudWings. Aki was distraught at her death, and named the tiger's eye on her bracelet after Sunstone.

Brittlebush[]

Brittlebush was a random SandWing Aki found soon after Sunstone's death. However, their exchange was brief, and despite Brittlebush's bright hopes to be friends with Aki, Aki refused, as Brittlebush's dusty-gold scales reminded her of Sunstone. Aki considered naming a stone in her bracelet after Brittlebush, but soon debunked this idea, as she had not known the SandWing for more than an hour.

Brilliance[]

Brilliance was an IceWing in Queen Glacier's royal guard. She met Aki and warned her about crossing the Great Ice Wall. Aki was greatly grateful, and the two ended up spending two weeks together trying to capture the beauty of the tundra in writing. However, Brilliance had to head home eventually and the two parted ways. Before she left, Aki gifted Brilliance the poem they'd spent the weeks together writing. Brilliance thanked Aki and left. Aki later named the agate in her bracelet after Brilliance. Brilliance ended up keeping the poem Aki gave her, and passed it on to her dragonets.
