Gill trudged the hallways of the Summer Palace, trying to get to the hatchery. Meanwhile a million thoughts swarmed in his head. "Why did I do this? Why did I do this?" He growled to himself. Recently, Gill had made a huge mistake, after feeling that Coral didn't love him anymore he decided to find another mate and he did but when he found out that Coral did love him...well there were some fights. His secondary mate was a female SeaWing named Aquamarine and well at the point he found out about Coral, Aqua was already carrying his egg. The last time he heard from her was that she ran away but left the egg and that's what Gill was doing, trying to hide/care for this egg without Coral knowing. He had no idea whether it was a girl or a boy but he secretly hoped that it would be a boy so he could pass it off as yet another prince and Coral wouldn't care but if it was a girl...there would be problems.

Gill continued his walk until he arrived at the hatchery to see several new dragonets being cared for by Tortoise who noticed his presence. "Hello Gill." She turned around, holding a bluish-green SeaWing.

"Hello Tortoise." He answered, trying not to fiddle his talons too much.

"Do you need something?" She asked.

"N-No, I was just umm...coming to check on the dragonets." He lied.

Tortoise looked a bit confused. "Well you just never come to check on the dragonets...ever."

Gill frantically looked around for his egg and didn't find it anywhere before he realized that Tortoise was holding it...it had hatched. He began to internally panic and needed a way to get Tortoise away from it.

"Okaay...well I have to go anyway." Tortoise set the little SeaWing down to play with the others. "Go on little guy...go play with the others." The dragonet stayed there. "She is so shy..." Tortoise shook her head as she exited the hatchery and walked down the hallway.

The SeaWing king rushed over to the frozen dragonet and realized his fears were true...it was a female...he had several internal freak outs as he gazed into his daughter's teal blue eyes. Her scales were deep green with a bluish tint and dark green claws. Before long Gill noticed something that would get him and his new daughter killed. She didn't have the royal markings. "No no no. Of course she doesn't have the one determinate thing that all royal SeaWings have!" He growled internally. There was so much wrong with this, there was so much wrong with her. She was just...to obvious. Gill gave a quick thought to killing her before looking into her sparkling eyes.

"I-I can't kill you..." He nuzzled against her with his face. "The one daughter I think can actually make a difference..."
