A Dangerous Journey (The Burning Flames Arc)[]

The Dangerous Journey is book 1 of my Fanfic arc, The Burning Flames.

This fanmade arc will include 7 years after the events of the Flames of Hope, book 15. So most characters that you see in the

the actual series has dragonets now. (Only if they were young, and with another dragon. Example:

Moon and Qibli have dragonets now. etc.)

Prophecy[]

Across the sea, across the sand, there will be dragons in that hidden land.

Inside the mountains with the Skywing Queen, there will be danger that is simply unseen.

Inside a bracelet, filled with secrets and power, there will be war in the final hour.

Fires burning, but not all the same, will be hunting dragons of every name.

There will be a queen, who has lots of weapons and chains, so before it's too late, stop the burning flames.

Prologue[]

Dragons were screaming. Nightwings were everywhere across the sky. A young Silkwing dragonet was running across the ground, for she was too young to have had her metamorphisis yet. Nightwings were burning her home to the ground. Velvet sped along the dry earth, wishing that she had wings to fly. Velvet turned her head around and spotted that some other Silkwings were following her, screaming at the sight of their home being burnt. Velvet glanced at her best friend Jade as one of the Silkwing dragonets running. Jade was a silver Silkwing with lots of gold splotches all over the back of her neck. Velvet was a pale lavender color, with lime green starbursts across her scales. Velvet also had red stripes on her horns. Jade finally managed to catch up to her. "Velvet! Where are we going to go?" Jade cried, her green eyes wide with fear. For once, Velvet didn't know what to say. "I don't know," Velvet said in her calmest voice. "How are you so calm about this?" Jade demanded, eyeing her in shock. A blast of fire shot right next to Velvet, and Velvet realized with a jolt of terror that lots of Nightwings were pursuing the surviving Silkwings. "Run!" a Silkwing shouted. Velvet didn't need to be told twice. Jade's eyes were wide. "I'm going to die," Jade murmured, her eyes were full of terror. "Never!" Velvet hissed. Finally, Velvet spotted some trees in the distance. Jade's eyes averted to them for a heartbeat. "Come on!" Velvet roared, grabbing Jade's talons and darting towards the trees as fast as she could. No Nightwing's spotted them, which was surprisingly lucky. Jade gazed at Velvet. "I'm scared," she murmured, leaning closer to Velvet. "I know. I am too," Velvet murmured back. Velvet knew that they could never return to the Silkwing kingdom until it was rebuit, but because of the Nightwing's fire, it would take FOREVER. Velvet knew one thing for certain: Could they ever be safe?

Chapter 1[]

Spark awoke to the sounds of talonsteps running everywhere outside. Annoyance was creeping through her. What is going on? she thought. Spark peeked her head out of her house and saw that Queen Ruby was perched on the balcony. Skywings were crowding the seats to overlook the arena. Spark spotted her mother, Ember, as one of the dragons perched on the seats. Why didn't my mother wake me up? Spark knew that her mother would always wake her up for something as important as this. ESPECIALLY if the entire kingdom was gathered. Spark walked outside of her house and walked over to the seats. Skywings were crowding it. What's going on? Spark walked over to her mother. "Do you know what's going on? Why didn't you wake me?" she asked. Ember turned her head around. "Sorry Spark- I had been rushing to get over here." Mother's acting weird. Spark sat down next to her mother as Queen Ruby began speaking. "I have just gotten word from Moonwatcher that there is a new prophecy going around," Queen Ruby announced. Spark glanced around at the other Skywings, trying to see their reactions. The Skywings were murmuring and casting shocked glances at Queen Ruby. Queen Ruby nodded and the other dragons went silent. "Here is the exact words Moon had said, Across the sea, across the sand, there will be dragons in that hidden land. Inside the mountains with the Skywing Queen, there will be danger that is simply unseen. Inside a bracelet, filled with secrets and power, there will be war in the final hour. Fires burning, but not all the same, will be hunting dragons of every name. There will be a queen, who has lots of weapons and chains, so before it's too late, stop the burning flames, Queen Ruby said. Murmurs came from the crowd. That's ominous, Spark thought. Wait- fires burning, but not all the same, will be hunting dragons of every name? Surely that means a firescales right? Their scales are fire after all. But, what does, there be a queen, who has lots of weapons and chains, so before it's too late, stop the burning flames, mean? Is that supposed to mean an evil firescales? But- I know Peril is a firescales. I also know that her and Clay had dragonets. Was one of them a firescales? Spark saw Queen Ruby staring at her for some reason. Why is she-? Before Spark could continue thinking, Queen Ruby opened her mouth and said, "You may all think about what that means. However, try and talk to me about it if you have a theory," Queen Ruby said, walking away. Spark blinked as her tail disappeared into the shadows. What do I do? I've always been a nervous dragonet. I mean- I should tell her it's probably a firescales, but what if I'm wrong? What if I'm accusing random dragons who are innocent? Spark thought. Spark spotted her mother start walking back to their house. "Mother?" Spark asked. "What's wrong?" Ember whirled around. "Nothing! Don't worry about it dearest," she said. "You know, me and Queen Ruby have been talking, and you should go to Jade Mountain Academy," she said. Spark shot up. "Really?" That was quick to change the subject. "Yes," Ember said. "Okay...." Spark said slowly, and followed her mother back into the hut. What does mother seem so worried about? And why?

Chapter 2[]

"Hurry up Fate!" Respect shouted, as Fate darted after her. "Hey!" she roared, leaping at Respect. Her sister got pinned under her weight, as Fate was just a year older than her. Their mother, Moonwatcher, and their father, Qibli, were watching from the corner of the room. "Illusion! Get over here!" Fate shouted to her other sister, who was crouching in the shadows further away. "Help me pin Respect down!" Fate cried. Illusion shook her head. "I'm much older than you two. I don't have time to play games," she said. Fate rolled her eyes. "I hardly recall you being two years older than me being "much older." You may only be a year away from being full grown, but don't forget that I can still win against you!" Fate teased. Fate lunged at Illusion, and pinned her down too. Illusion laughed. "Fine. You got me there," she said. Illusion was six years old, just one year away from being full grown. Fate was four, while Respect was three. Illusion looked just like Moonwatcher, except she had no teardrop scales, and she had black eyes, much like Qibli's. Fate was such a shade of dark blue that she was almost black, while she had lighter blue on the underside of her wings, and horns. Fate had green eyes much like Moon's, and she had the teardrop scales next to her eyes. She also had a Sandwing tail barb from Qibli. Respect looked like Qibli. She had pale yellow scales, and a Sandwing tail barb. Respect had Moon's green eyes, and on the underside of her wings, she had the scattered scales that looked like stars, except they were black, and she had black freckles on her snout too, just like Qibli. Fate agreed that Respect was a very pretty dragon, and you could tell instantly that she was a Sandwing Nightwing hybrid. "Fate!" Respect suddenly shouted, making Fate jump out of her sweet thoughts. "W-what?" she asked. "Illusion's getting ready to leap, watch out!" she cried, darting forward excitedly. Illusion was crouching low to the ground, her wings spreading wide. Illusion won't win this game! Fate thought. Fate leaped at Illusion before she leaped, sending her crashing to the ground. "Gotcha!" she cried. Just then, a vision flashed through her mind. It was the Rainforest, burning to the ground. Fires were everywhere. Just then, words started cascading through her: Across the sea, across the sand, there will be dragons in that hidden land. Inside the mountains with the Skywing Queen, there will be danger that is simply unseen. Inside a bracelet, filled with secrets and power, there will be war in the final hour. Fires burning, but not all the same, will be hunting dragons of every name. There will be a queen, who has lots of weapons and chains, so before it's too late, stop the burning flames, Fate said, and her sister's jumped backward. "What was that?" Qibli chirped up. Moon shook her head. "A prophecy that I got a little while ago," Moon said. A prophecy? What does it mean? And what happens next?
