Stonefly is an adult pangender HiveWing IceWing hybrid and birds sona. (big wip)
Appearance[]
From her appearance, Stonefly is obviously a hybrid, having two wings, blue colored ears, and being, well, spikier than the normal dragon. Their wings are made of the same material as a HiveWing's, with the same shape as an IceWing's. They have black eyes with a yellow pupil, making them stand out from other dragons. On one of their horns there is a grey horn band, used to make them look normal around other dragons. On their talon they usually wears a ring gifted to her by her IceWing mother. Around the age of 10, without their horn band on, they look quite peculiar. There are patches of black and starry scales on their body and one of their eyes looks like a typical NightWing eye.
Personality[]
Stonefly is very fiesty, and prides themself on being different and standing out. As a dragonet, they were taught to think of their differences as special powers, and how there was no one in the world like them. (Junix is a good dad lol) Currently, they don’t purposely interact with anyone and only focus on surviving.
History[]
Pre-hatching[]
Irbis, Stonefly's mother, was an IceWing animus who often got into feuds with NightWings and had to hide from the rest of the IceWings, due to being, well, an animus, as she knew that her tribe would use her. One fateful day, she came across another animus, one that was a NightWing. The two actually got along very well at first, even starting a romance..… But then they got into a fight, and the NightWing (who will remain unnamed) cursed Irbis so that her firstborn child would slowly turn into a NightWing. Angered by this spell, Irbis enchanted a knife to stab the NightWing, then left.
Irbis soon met a HiveWing refugee on the coast of the Ice Kingdom. Fascinated by each other, they both decided to study the other's continent. Stonefly's mother hid Junix from the rest of Phyrria, and enchanted a tail band that prevented Wasp from getting into his head. In return, Junix told her about Pantala and helped Irbis hide from the IceWings.
Hatching- early childhood[]
After the rest of Phyrria discovered Pantala, Junix and Irbis decided to have an egg. Not forgetting the NightWing's curse, Irbis enchanted a ring to slow the curse from spreading. A few years after Stonefly's hatching, however, she disappeared, supposedly kidnapped and killed by one of the tribes. Stonefly had a good childhood with their father nonetheless, and he told them stories of Pantala and how he met Irbis. Unfortunately, at the age of 2, Stonefly's curse started to spread. Junix, afraid of magic and blaming it on his lover's disappearance, left Stonefly with the local blacksmith and went back to Pantala.
Growing up- now[]
Stonefly was raised by the blacksmith as their apprentice, as the blacksmith showed him how to create works out of metal. "fire-claws" Later, after Stonefly had taken over the blacksmith's shop, (allowing them to retire :), they found that their curse was getting much worse, leading to them trading one of their IceWing spikes for a normal appearance. Stonefly was also plagued with nightmares of their NightWing soul trying to escape. "set me free" they said, "break the ring, then we'll both be happy" They wanted to believe them. Sometimes it felt like they did. The nightmares kept getting worse. "no one likes your creations" "you look like a lab rat" "everyone would like you better if you didn't look like this" They gave them severe social anxiety. Soon, they started hearing them during the day, around their customers, like they were reading their minds. Finally, they gave in to the constant teasing. They took their father's ring off and threw it on the ground, and it shattered into millions of pieces. Now, they live a double life, as both Stonefly the HiveWing IceWing hybrid, and Static the NightWing.
