Appearance
Nerine is described as being noticeably smaller and shorter than her peers, and very bright-scaled. She’s a flexible, agile SilkWing with a washed-out banana yellow and strawberry pink underbelly and long orange antennae. She paints her claws a dark golden with her favorite mineral-pigmented polish to give her a more aesthetic color palette because she claims her natural gray claws do not work well with her “sunset vibes”. She’ll often wear a brown pouch made of natural materials and threaded with golden tamarin hairs to match the gold button clasp for opening and closing the flap, used for storing her favorite flower types. They help ease her anxiety and also work well as last-minute presents for as gifts to dragons who are down on their luck that day. She has already underwent metamorphosis despite being four years old, developing large and batty wings early in life. Colored with pale yellows, vibrant pinks, and vivid purples, they’re eye-catching and odd. They’re fluttery and flow well in the breeze, smooth as the wind itself. Her eyes are soft and round, a pale orange, bright in hue.
Relationships
Siren
The bond between the two is interesting and complex. When Siren isn’t behaving violently, Nerine is happy in her company. She’ll even tease the princess, something few dare to do. Siren will often times get angry and attack Nerine because of her jokes, but never actually hurt her. Nerine is thankful to Siren because she learned new ways to escape holds and even block some important thoughts from mind-readers. She considers Siren a friend at best, or so she claims. Nerine will often feel with unconcious mistrust towards the princess. It’s unknown what Siren really thinks of her. When Nerine first approached Siren, she had the intention of putting the hybrid in her place. Even dangerous sparkly princesses can’t live on believing the world revolved around them. Is that task completed? Somewhat. Nerine likes to think that she helped humble Siren at least 3% more. They continue to talk in classes and chat in the halls together at school as friends and enemies alike.
Clouded Leopard
One of her only real friends and someone whom she actually trusts. She regards him one of the most sincere and kind dragons in all of Pyrrhia, meaning no harm to anyone, and likes him for that. She has comforted him in the past when he had a panic attack, knowing what it was like to have one, and formed a connection with him. She enjoys flying or chatting with him in their free time, or even during class when they’re supposed to be listening. She has no problem with telling him her ideas and thoughts on anything and everything, listening to his troubles in turn. She also admires his bravery by sneaking into Hopefinder’s office and his stubbornness by standing up to Siren and calling her out for her bullying.
Hopefinder
Walrus
Not unlike Clouded Leopard, Nerine enjoys being in Walrus’s presence. Despite his favorite food being a large SandWing talon, they have lots in common, mainly due to their harsh pasts. She supports Walrus in any way she can, knowing it must be hard for him with all the judgement and bad treatment he has gotten. They’re on great terms.
Rain
A fellow snake lover! The two get along perfectly and are very friendly with one another. Their pet snakes, Blueberry and Blue Raspberry, are acquainted with eachother as well. Nerine likes bumping into Rain in the halls for a nice chat or to obsess over snakes together.
Nightseer
Deathcaller
The nosy, try-hard NightWing is one of Nerine’s least favorite dragons. Overly swooning over Siren and much too haughty to others, Nerine finds him revolting. He even smells weird, like algae left out in the sun for too long. However she’s willing to get to know him better and see if he’s really that horrible or if there’s more to him then being Siren’s pet. She’ll greet in him whenever they meet throughout the school and they’ll exchange a few passing words.
Blue Raspberry
Nerine views her pet snake as one of the cutest, smartest, and slitheriest animals on all of Pyrrhia. When they first met, he showed no signs of skiddishness around her or wanting to harm her, and they get along splendidly to this day. Nerine always makes sure he’s safely tucked into her pouch whenever they travel together, with plenty of breathing space, and they often sleep together at night in Nerine’s dorm. She had Blue Raspberry enchanted with animus magic to live for as long as she lives.
