But everyone has a story behind them. The waitress at the nice place in town, the salesdragon who sold you those ugly wool socks, everyone!
And Copper is one of them. Copper, the dragoness with a broken heart. Copper, the librarian who never speaks. I bet when I started telling you about her, you would have asked, "Who's Copper?"
Of course, I myself probably have minor ADHD, so I'm detail-oriented. Not everyone has it, and...well...that's not a bad thing. But next time you're out and about, try paying attention to the things around you. It might pay off someday...

Copper is nothing fancy, just the normal SkyWing you'd see flying around the Sky Kingdom arena in Scarlet's time. Most think she's actually coppery, but she's just a red-orange young dragoness. She has white fades in certain parts of her body, and she wears glasses. Again, nothing special or abnormal.
Occasionally, she wore obsidian-black armor during war meetings, but she put it away when the Queen (Queen Wildfire) fired (ha ha) her three years ago.
Her body is thin, so thin that when she's just a silhouette in the light of the moon, she's often mistaken for a RainWing. You could say she did not have enough to eat as a dragonet, but no, she was just born that way.
She wears some accessories, but never any more than three at a time.
Copper always wears the garnet necklace given to her by Robin; it has a large garnet in the middle and NightWing claws on either side of it. It's made of leather and the clasp is made of an IceWing scale and a SandWing scale.
Copper also has a scarf made from silk. It is also garnet and was the first thing she bought with her own money, she holds it very close to her heart.
And she has a pouch held on her arm that holds her library card and glasses, when they're not on. It is similar to Moonwatcher's pouch and she got it when she applied for a job at the library.

Copper doesn't actually need glasses; she just reads so much that she never takes them off. She is so introverted that some dragons think she's mute, but she talks. In fact, if you ask her for a fact, she will ramble on and on about it until you directly ask her to stop. She's efficient and loves her patrons, they literally keep her alive. (Without patrons, she won't get paid. Then she won't be able to pay her rent.)
She's quite curious but doesn't like to ask questions, so she knows a lot from her books.
Before she got fired, she still wasn't that vocal. But as she got older, she started sharing her theories and ideas with everyone. "We can technically go to the closest of the three moons-the Gray Moon- within the next century with the power of SkyWing, NightWing, SandWing, and MudWing fire." "We can use scavengers' machines to help with the war effort." No one believed her and she was sent packing, advised to find a more...humble job. This experience led her to believe that speaking up only led to distrust, and she hasn't spoken up since.
She didn't want to admit it, but she loved Robin and he loved her back. When she was told to leave and never come back by the Queen, she was heartbroken.

When Copper hatched, Holly was disappointed. She had been expecting a dragonet who was special: animus powers, firescales, a mutated dragonet-but all she got was a disappointing thin little mute female who needed glasses.
As Copper matured, Holly grew worried for her reputation. Who would buy her beautiful products if she had a daughter who couldn't even talk? So she started shutting Copper away, letting her cook and learn on her own. She denied that she even had a daughter, let alone a mute one!
Copper spoke her first word when she was one and a half. No-first sentence. "Mother, can I get a library card?"
Holly was shocked-and furious. She yelled, "Excuse me, dragonet? You don't talk until you are two and when you do, you ask for one of those stupid pieces of wood?"
Copper started, slowly, to get abused. She got used to the yelling and found a hiding place, more and more. By the age of four, she was genuinely depressed. She started attempting su*cide, and was stopped numerous times by the local librarian. (See Erase for more information)
At five, she was getting into huge fights with her mother.
In the middle of the flower season (spring), she got into a fight about leaving the house.
"-Call me MOTHER!" Holly yelled, smearing her wet nail polish over Copper's neck.
Copper stopped breaking her mother's things.
"Why should I call a dragon who sentences me to house confinement a mother? You are no mother of mine," Copper whispered.
"Well, if I'm not a mother to you, I have no right to feed you." Holly countered.
"Fine!"
"FINE!"
And with that, Copper slammed the door, leaving forever.
Soon, she was sleeping out on the streets with the homeless.
However, after about six months on the pavement, the queen's son, Robin, was making his monthly excursion to see the Sky Kingdom. He saw Copper trying to live on the streets and saw potential in her, other than the other homeless. He persuaded her (it didn't take much) to come to his castle with him.

Of course you would have a negative relationship with someone who tried to hide you, was ashamed of you. Copper most certainly did, and that started as soon as her head poked out of its shell only to see a disappointed face. She moved out of the house at five and a half years old, and she's forever glad of that decision because it led her to Robin.

Copper met Robin when she was five and a half, out on the streets trying to find food. She was dirty but happy, and never regretted the decision to move out. Robin saw her and immediately knew that she would be an asset-both to the Sky Kingdom and him. So he took her to his mother and pleaded for her to live at the palace. A romantic relationship quickly developed between the two, but it was broken when Copper was ten and was fired by the Queen
