Notes[]
- I will try to update one/two/three chapters every week and for the grammar and stuff, I will edit them every day.
- For the character Firefly, it is FANON, NOT Tui's character.
- For this fanfiction, pretend that Arc 3 didn't exist :P
- For the scrolls I mentioned in my fanfiction, The Tragedy of Orca is written by Tui's Queen Coral. The other scrolls I made up myself :P
Prophecy[]
Gold, yellow, orange, and red,
The sun shining high above.
Silver, white, gray, and black,
The moons rising one by one.
Find the IceWing prince,
Spikes gleaming in the sunset;
Find the SeaWing animus,
Pinning his rival on the grass;
Find the bold SkyWing,
Gliding with the wind, searching for her prey;
Find the NightWing with midnight scales,
His teardrops glittering in the dusk;
Find the RainWing outcast,
Her blood staining her red.
The five dragonets on a quest,
The five dragonets bringing back the peace.
The first rays of the rising sun,
Will tell if they succeeded or failed.

Chapter 1[]
Go in. Be brave. You can't hide in the shadows forever, Dandelion yelled to herself. She took a deep breath and stepped into the caves.
It was only a few moments when she arrived in the main cave -- the Great Hall. A huge banner on the roof spelled, Welcome, students!
“Hey! You're Dandelion, right?” a voice boomed and a SeaWing came rushing over. "Nice to meet you. I'm Creek, the headmistress, Firefly's assistant. Here are your map and welcome scroll and stuff." She trusts a bunch of scrolls to Dandelion and raced away to greet a loud group of MudWings.
Dandelion opened her welcome scroll. Her dormitory was marked in the third tunnel on the right, then three tunnels down on the left. She padded slowly through the tunnels, pressing her wings close to her, knowing she looks weird. Her siblings were also hybrids, but they all had RainWing looks and RainWing abilities and nobody suspected them for being a hybrid. However, she looked mostly like a SilkWing, as her mother called herself, and nobody knew her mother so they didn't know and didn't even start to imagine that there's another continent. She saw two IceWings walk past her, one giving her an icy look. She could guess what he was thinking; it was natural for her, as she spent her whole time guessing others' thoughts based on their expressions and actions when she wasn't studying. She tried to ignore the dirty looks the other dragons gave her and focused on getting to her cave.
She was surprised to find the same IceWing that gave her the weird look sitting on a pile of snow next to her pile of moss. He gave her another surprised look and went on doing his things: placing his scrolls on a blank shelf and studying the map. She scanned the scrolls on another shelf and saw the scrolls The Royal SeaWing Massecure, The Tragedy of Orca, The Scorching, and The Royal SandWing Succession, and many more. She took The Royal SeaWing Massecure and went to her moss nest and started to read. Her eyes scanned the pages quickly and everything she read found their way into her brain. She read scroll after scroll. She didn't know how much time had passed when a voice startled her and she looked up from her scroll.
The IceWing cleared his throat. “Um, I'm sorry for butting in, but it says that we have to meet with our Winglet in the library seven minutes later.”
“Oh! Right,” Dandelion said and put down her scroll.
She went outside, studying her map and walking instinctively. When the scent of scrolls filled her nostrils, she looked up and found that she was standing in front of the library. She saw several dragons already sat there, waiting for the conversation to begin. She walked over to them cautiously, scanning them at super speed, accessing if they're disgusted or annoyed to see her and if they will attack her. She chose a seat next to a gentle SeaWing (by the look of him, mostly because he was looking the least offensive and that the others were looking hostile) and the IceWing sat beside her. A few moments later, another two dragons arrived and settled themselves in the remaining two seats.
“Um . . . So, we’re going to introduce ourselves, right?” the SeaWing beside her asked.
“I guess so,” the NightWing replied. “I’m Duskfall, though you can call me Dusk. I’m Queen Midnight’s loyal follower.”
“I’m Falcon,” the SkyWing said. “I’m a follower of Queen Torch and I came here because she said so.”
“Well, I am Prince Iceberg,” the IceWing announced, “Queen Snowstorm’s sole son. I’m going to be King one day,” he added, replacing his tail in with a clatter of spikes. “And this is my pet, Blizzard,” he said, showing the group a scavenger with white clothing and short, fluffy brown hair. “He only eat fruit, but fruit is eww and I don’t know why he doesn’t eat meat.”
“Scavengers only —” Dandelion started, but cut herself as the six pairs of eyes turned toward her — amber, black, green, blue, brown, and gray.
“Scavengers what?” Iceberg demanded.
“They — I just read that they eat cooked meat . . .” Dandelion whispered, ducking her head.
“Cooked meat?” Iceberg mused. “Who’s going to do that? I can only freeze his food, not anymore.”
I can help you, Dandelion thought. If you let me.
“It’s your turn,” the SeaWing nudged her and said.
“I-I’m Dandelion,” Dandelion said quietly. “I’m a RainWing hybrid and —”
“You’re a RainWing hybrid?” Iceberg asked.
“And I like scrolls. Your turn,” Dandelion finished.
“Well, I’m Tide,” the SeaWing said. “I’m Queen Seashell’s third son. I like scrolls too,” he added.
“I’m Marshy,” the warm brown MudWing said. “I have six siblings and two of them are at school now. I like to fly with my friends.”
“And I’m Cactus,” the last SandWing said. “I’m a loyal follower of Queen Sahara and is her adopted son. I like maps. And now, the welcome scroll says it’s free time. We can go back to our dorms now.”
Dandelion left with Iceberg, keeping her head down the whole way. When she finally got back to her dorm, she sighed and collapsed on her nest and started to continue her scroll she was reading before she left.
Quiet footsteps, a quick rush of wind, and the glimpse of shiny scales under a black cloak caught her attention as she started to put her scroll away. Is that Iceberg? She saw the shape turn a corner and raced behind it. When she almost reached it, she leaped on it and they rolled on the ground. She glanced around and wounded her tail around a column and pinned it down.
“Iceberg!” she hissed after pinning him down.
My guess was right! But why him?
“Just explain why you killed three of my brothers and my parents,” she snarled through clenched teeth.
Iceberg sighed. “It looks like you’ve found out. I’m an assassin who works for my Queen. She told me to get rid of those hybrids and I accepted.”
But why you?
“But you’re a prince. A prince needs to learn how to be a King, blah blah blah, how to rule the Kingdom, blah blah blah, and stuff like that.”
“Exactly!” Iceberg snapped. “My mother said that I should also learn how to assassinate dragons so they won’t be a thread to the Ice Kingdom.”
“Are you saying that I’m a threat?” she asked, her antennas unfurling.
“Um . . . no?”
“Just go back,” she said, pushing him toward their dorm, but he was one year older than her and definitely heavier.
“Okay, okay,” he sighed and started walking back. Then, he stopped. “What if I don’t?”
