Hii Wings of Fire Fanon Wiki dot com I’m making a brief return as today would be The Smiler’s 3rd birthday!! Unfortunately, I don’t own him anymore as I gave him to one of my close friends after losing interest in Wings of Fire (who then redesigned him and gave him a new story) but they’re taking good care of him don’t you worry aha. The goals for experiments are basically just things like “testing out improved joy serum” or different hypnosis techniques. It sounds lame but that type of stuff can seriously mess up a guy’s body and mind if it doesn’t go well which is why there’s so many feral creatures. Plus the Ministry likes to be a little quirky sometimes and tries to genetically-engineer dragons like “the perfect happy citizen” or Oblivion-like critters (“fear eaters” and whatnot) that would just help them out a little.
Unwilling volunteers are often dragons who disobey/hate the Ministry and are very open about it, they’re often used as experiments if they see their body as “promising” since The Smiler really doesn’t think they deserve to be happy (after all, “they’re protesting against the perfect way for dragons to remove all their worries!! Who would DO that???”). Of course there are some different types of unwilling volunteers (rule-breakers and traitors) but anti-Advocates are the most common

Nemesis 100%, unless Smiles is allowed to bring in his staff/Advocates then maybe him considering he would literally have an army at his disposal Imao (Advocates aren’t made for fighting though,,,)

Advocates!! Advocates are everywhere and if they see someone talking smack about the Ministry they will force them to get corrected because it’s programmed into their brains (“dragons who think the Ministry is bad are sad and need to be happy!!” basically).
Edit: ALSO The Smiler tends to hide the more grisly stuff from the public so, unless you manage to get a sneak-peak behind the scenes, you won’t see any of the super bad stuff during your time in The Sanctuary. If you’re a patient you’ll just be corrected anyways so the torture you go through while getting marmalised will be erased from your memory after hypnosis and you won’t care about the bad stuff if you see it
Only two tribes (or rather, the government of two tribes) oppose the Ministry/Sanctuary (that being the SilkWings and RainWings) due to the Princess Owl incident. The RainWing Queen’s (Radiance) daughter went to get corrected, it failed, she went a little silly, and when her mother found out she banned the Ministry and their Advocates from her kingdom. The SilkWings followed suit due to how close the SilkWing Queen (Gold) is with Radiance.
The other Queens sided with the Ministry either due to them having been brainwashed themselves (Queen Crag (of the SkyWings) is halfway-Corrected) or because they simply do not really know what’s actually going on in The Sanctuary/the consequences of marmalisation.

I haven’t been super active on here as of late (working on my non-wof OCs) but I’ve wanted to re-connect with the community (since there is a lot of new users who I don’t know that well) so here :]
Anyways, this is a questions and answers thread for my personal OC universe, The Smiling AU (as well as any character in it like The Smiler and Oblivion (tagged at the bottom of this post)). It’s based upon the lore of theme parks and roller coasters (one of my biggest core interests) and I think it’s pretty funny lol.
It’s currently going under a complete revamp though so a lot of info is out of date, I’ll make sure to clear up any confusion if I need to <3

Wanted to give him a sort of “decaying” theme since darkness=no life and I wanted the growths to resemble spider legs a bit since, y’know, they’re pretty scary Imao
I wanted his horns to go through his flesh as well to show how old he is (and for general creepiness lol)

Yeah!! They’ll be more polished if you would like them to be lol. The lineart itself will still be sketchy (since clean lineart kills my motivation and makes everything take more time than it should ifhrnf) but I’ll 100% clean up the coloring n such aha (like the last two examples I gave)
