Hey everyone, and happy spring! We hope you’re all doing well and have been staying warm during these last few weeks of colder weather. There are quite a few announcements and reminders that we’d like to review, so let’s jump in!
Batch Delete Reminder
We have a batch delete coming up on April 3, 2023. Mark your calendars! You should check out the Batch Delete section in our rules if you need more information about what happens during our routine page cleanup.
Rule Updates
We've updated our policies surrounding mature content:
Discussion and derivative works based on media with sexual content (e.g. Hazbin Hotel or Fallout) is banned.
User avatars from media with sexual content are banned.
Songs that include profanity or discussions of sensitive topics must be marked with the word “explicit” or the letter E.
Our Image Policy has received a number of updates:
We’ve specified that AI-generated artwork is not permitted on our wiki.
We’ve removed the requirement for photography credit, although we highly encourage everyone to provide credit for photos whenever possible.
Rule 1.3 has received a minor rephrasing to clarify that user avatars containing artwork of original characters may only be used with the permission of the original artist.
Rule 1.4 has received a minor rephrasing to require credit for memes with known artists.
We’ve added a new rule regarding specific ships. The following ships should not be created or promoted on the wiki in any form:
Ships between characters who are siblings, whether adopted or biological.
Ships between characters who are 8 DY (dragon years) and older and characters who are younger than 7 DY.
Ships between characters younger than 8 DY with an age gap of more than 2 DY.
We've clarified our rules on requiring credit. To properly credit an artist, you must now include the full username of an artist and/or a direct link to their account. Nicknames or abbreviations are not considered appropriate credit.
We no longer allow the usage of copy-paste fonts (e.g. 𝒞𝓊𝓇𝓈𝒾𝓋𝑒 𝓕𝑜𝓃𝓉) due to the difficulties they cause those who use screen readers. However, this does not apply to fonts that are implemented via code, such as Comic Sans, Times New Roman, etc.
We have excluded pages in the following categories from the batch delete:
Tribe Contest Reminder
We have an ongoing tribe contest! You have until August 1st to work on your tribes. To enter, please link to the contest blog from your tribe page. You can do so by entering source editor and adding the following code to the top of the page:

Templates and Categories
We recently added a template for pride flags. While using the template version over the images does provide accessibility benefits (especially for mobile users), please note that the flags themselves do not appear on mobile. If it’s important to you that they do, you should continue to use Winter314's flags.
Our Occupation categories have received a small overhaul, with the renaming of a few existing occupations and the addition of several others. Descriptions of all the occupations are available on the category pages.
Modified occupations:
Occupation (Government Official) —> Occupation (Government)
Occupation (Explorer) —> Occupation (Traveler)
New occupations:
The Scavengers category has been renamed to Humans due to the usage of the term “human” becoming more widespread in the canon series.
Moderation Team Updates
Helsing has moved accounts from Granite the SeaWing hybrid to Helsingvania. Please direct any questions to their new account!
